[Q]How to check IMEI is changed or not? - General Questions and Answers

Hi. I bought a LG VS750 Fathom from ebay 2 months ago. Then I purchased so many unlock code orders from different sellers. However, the only answer I got is "unlock code is not found from the database, sorry.". Then I started to think that maybe my IMEI number has changed before I bought my phone. IMEI isn't written in anywhere on the box or on the phone, it is only appear when I press *#06#. On the box and on the phone, just MEID number is written.
I really need to know that the MEID and the IMEI number fit fot the same device. I asked to Verizon and LG to check but they said they can't check that information.
Do anybody know how can I check my IMEI? Can you please tell me if you how any way to do that?
I'm very desperate, I couldn't unlock my phone. Please help me

Hey dude,
I am one of the victim of LG VS750 Fathom from verizon wireless which came SIM LOCKED like you i have been wandering around for 8 digit unlock code, still no luck! Just want know incase you found any solution or way out of this?

There is no way to check if your imei has changed if you did not have it somewhere to compare.

"Dear Customer,
Sorry I have been unable to generate the correct unlock code for your mobile. There are so many mobile out there sometimes the firmware on certain versions mean I cant generate the code.
I have sent your details over the accounts team who will send you a refund. Although normally quicker please allow up to 7 days for the refund to get back into your account.
Once again I apologise for not being able to get the correct code for your mobile. Your only option may be your network operator or a local shop who can unlock via a cable.

TheUnlockShack.com"
Don't post your MEID or IMEI publicly, people can do all sorts of nasty things like report your phone stolen with that information.
help me ........
So you got the refund from TheUnlockShack.com?
Since most of them can give money back if they cannot find your code. You can try another unlock website or find on eBay. I got my code from an eBay seller.
Did you make sure you gave the correct IMEI, not MEID?
You can obtain your IMEI number by pressing *#06# on your mobile phone. Try it.
Note: that will only show the IMEI if the phone is in GSM mode. Maybe in Global mode too, but definitely not in CDMA mode.
IMEI is available under Settings, About phone, Status.

IMEI issue with the china Phones?

I recently bought a China android phone on ebay.com. you can see the product here http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/320977989760?item=320977989760&ViewItem=
I live in India and i am not able to use the Sim on the phone. The problem is when i put the sim the phone detects carrier name but i am not able to make calls. So can this be an issue with the IMEI number. Because i have heard the the china phones does not come with genuine IMEI numbers and in Indian now its compulsory to use handsets only with the genuine IMEI numbers. So can some one please help me with this? I dont know if its an IMEI issue or something else. I contacted the seller and he said it has a genuine IMEI and he also gave me a link to change the IMEI number of needed which i know is illegal. So any help is really appreciated !! Thanks.
Cheers,
Shrikanth

[t-mobile or virgin] lg optimus f3 - unlock needed

Dear friends,
I searched this website and didn't find an answer - PLEASE help!
I have an LG optimus F3 vm720, bought it in the US for 99$. I think it was at T-Mobile or Sprint
but the carrier is Virgin Mobile - that's for sure, as I pay them 30$ per month, the sim-card is "Sprint"]
(how is that possible?)
I am traveling to Berlin and hoped to unlock it (although the cheap, 99$ was domestic only, exc.
Is it possible?
I could not find the IMEI, could not unlock it. Most YouTube vidoes suggest to hit *#06# - my phone does not react to this.
Can anyone please help me unlock it? Should I root it first (hope I would know how to do this).
It is a nice phone, but now I'm so lost I wished I'd bought something that works in Europe(
Thank you for any tip, suggestion and help!!!
Regards
So I did a little searching I found
Your Service Code is 2945#*659#
You might be able to find your IMEI in there some where?
I found that from this YouTube link exsplaning how to unlock the sim (Mind you I am not suggesting you use the site in the video)
also be careful to not change anything in your hidden menu as this can cause problems
Hope this helps.
Nop, but you are great
It did not work. Nothing happens when i enter 2945#*659# .
But people like you make me love human kind again, anyway! Thank you so much!

can You take the battery cover off your phone and take a picture of sticker ?
Yes, please find the attachment.
Swappa says you are on Sprint PCS (subsidiaries under the Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Assurance Wireless) so I'm guessing that Sprint allows cross usage of Sim Cards?
How to enter code for LG Optimus F3 VM720?
Turn on your LG Optimus F3 VM720 with original sim card (the sim card from operator which your phone is working now),
Enter PIN code if it is necessary,
Type sequence 2945#*XXX# or 2945#*71001#, xxx - are your model name digits (for example if it is E460 type 2495#*460#),
You will se a secret MENU - choose Network or Network Lock,
Type the code from us and accept it.
or
Switch ON your LG Optimus F3 VM720 with a not Accepted SIM Card,
Enter the Unlock Code we send to you.
Your LG Optimus F3 VM720 is unlocked.

So see if you can get into your secret menu with adding your verents if so then you can go foward with searching for the unlock code.
I verified this works with other phones (my lg g flex) by puting in the first set of numbers and then my phones model number (959) so it should work for you... if not then you might need to reset to stock.

Try unlock it from AT&T by code from HTC premium service and fail, so i think imei was changed before.....is it possible to find stock(factory) IMEI??? after it changed.

The only reason to change a phone IMEI is because the original one is blacklisted. If the IMEI is blacklisted then you are probably dealing with a stolen/lost phone and you should send it back to where it came from. The factory IMEI should be visible on the original box (which I guess you don't have if its a stolen/lost phone). It should also be printed in tiny characters somewhere on the SIM tray.
edit: I just read your other thread and this is a blacklisted imei phone. You should never buy blacklisted imei phones, there are a lot of reasons but the most important one: By buying a blacklisted phones on ebay you are supporting phones thieves. If the IMEI was blacklisted its for a good reason, not because the phone was apparently a demo phone...

How to check if phone is blacklisted before buying for example on ebay?

IMEI is different and showing it's a Sony Ericsson SPIRO W100 phone

Hi there,
So I recently bought a "T-Mobile" OnePlus 7 Pro second-hand. Now, the problem is, I'm in Canada and it's locked to T-Mobile. I should be able to unlock it, but the IMEI looks like it's been changed to a different phone. I'm not sure why it's been changed, but is there a way I can restore the original one? The original IMEI is on the back of the phone and I've checked it and it's not blacklisted, so I don't know the original intention of changing it.
Could someone let me know?
Thank you

Unfortunately imei changing is illegal in some form in most countries you won't find much help on here with that. We don't support imei changing on xda. Unfortunately even if it is too go back to the proper one. Thst is quite odd. T-mobile still won't unlock it. You have to follow a stringent set of rules they have in place. There are really no unlock services for this device either. I've been looking myself. Every one claims they can. But then you read from there. Even the way I tried almost ruined mine
Check eBay, there's lots of services available. Just give the seller the IMEI number listed on the back, they should be able to change it no problem. Mine cost $20 to have done.

Again we don't discuss imei changing on xda
