Skinomi Skin Protector for Epic on sale! - Epic 4G Accessories

I've been on the lookout for skin protectors to start popping up on the market, and since it usually takes at least a month or two for any decent cases to come out for new phones, its always good to have a skin protector.
Just put up for sale, Skinomi has Epic 4G screen only & full body protectors!

Full Body
Screen Only Version
At $18.99 for full body, and $9.95 for screen only, WITH free shipping I think these are a good deal!
For the price, you get 'Lifetime warranty' and all the tools (spray fluid, squeegee) to apply the skin!
I have used Skinomi quite a few times, and in my experience it has always been positive! Once applied correctly, there is very little orange peel effect. Also, Skinomi DOES back up their lifetime warranty as far as I have tried. You DO have to send them the old damaged skin for them to send you a NEW set, and it will cost about 3-6 bucks for shipping to them, and shipping from them to you.

Ordered this a few days ago (screen only), hopefully it gets here soon!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App

Had some promotion apply to my order and take 2 dollars off. Only purchased the front shield, still a great deal though.
Thanks for the tip!

yeah, I picked one up, and used a 25% off coupon from retailmenot.com -- ended up paying $15 shipped for the full body. hasn't arrived yet though

When your full body arrives, can you take pictures of the back skin?
I ordered the screen only, but am wanting a full body skin.... but it depends on the design of the back skin.
I emailed Skinomi a few times asking about the design of the back skin, since each company varies and some companies skin's don't fully cover everything too well.... but they never replied back.

I was about to get an invisishiled but this seems like a much better deal!

Will do. Hoping to have it on Tuesday.

I ordered from Skinomi on the 30th, and STILL haven't gotten it. They are very slow with shipping.

did you do it all through amazon?

Ordered mine thru amazon and got it in about 3 days, installed it yesterday and I can finally feel at ease putting it in my pocket and not having to worry about the screen. Bodyguardz was running a deal a few says back for their product too and I jumped on it for the full body protectors. It was only $19.95 for the set of 2 full body protectors, bought it cuz I have a feeling the gloss and chrome is gonna get scratched up eventually

Anyone get there's yet? Mine supposedly shipped on 9/2, but has been at 'electronic shipping info received' since then, with no status change(USPS)

I got my screen protector from Skinomi, but I decided to return it on the spot.
The screen protector is about 1mm too large for the screen in my opinion, and I decided that it a better idea to get a static screen protector for the screen and a full body skin for the back.

yeah I ordered a Skinomi after dropping my phone 'cuz it seemed to get good reviews for other models. the amazon reviews are also saying it's too long. :-(
luckily I think my Phantom Skinz order comes with a screen protector!

I bought a full body Skinomi for my Evo a couple months ago. The screen protector gets scratched/scraped/smudged relatively easily. I did get a replacement sent to me for no charge, but I don't plan on putting it on. think I will try another type for the screen. The back and sides panels are working out great from the Skinomi.

Got both protectors in the mail today. Phantom Skinz is looking good so far, cut well. I can't really tell the length of the skinomi one without actually putting it on, but I can say that I appreciate that the Phantom Skinz screen protector has holes cut out for the led and front facing camera -- the skinomi protector does not. I guess there are pros and cons to either but I like the cut outs.

I got my Skinomi today. Cracked open the box, didn't get an installation card like the instructions say it comes with, but whatever I've got old ones from Invisible Shields lying around.
The cover is too long. Perfectly lined up with the top of the screen, the bottom edge hangs off. I'm very displeased, and with my first attempt using Skinomi, I don't know if I would ever consider them again. The extra money for an Invisible Shield has always proven to be worth it for me.

Did you order through amazon? I can say I at least got the tool.

Zagg, Bodyguardz, BSE, Stealth Guards, Skinomi, etc.

Of course we need one of these threads.
I'm going to go buy a full body BodyGuardz this weekend and i'll report back with pictures, and a review. I've had a lot of bodyguardz for various phones, and they cover the best. They have the orange peel and sticky feel on the screen, but not nearly as bad as i've seen on Zagg. I've never once been satisfied with zagg.
I've tried Stealth Guards on my iphone and desire Z, and the screen protector is a good texture, feels smooth, no resistance. But they don't cover enough of the body.
Never owned BSE
I've had a Skinomi, and they have the same texture as the Stealth guards, but they seem to be very vulnerable to peeling. Also not enough body cover. (might as well buy the stealth guards, they're cheaper)
Anyone got any yet?
I just Installed Skinomi full body. I've had no issues so far and I like the results. I followed the direction to the T, but added the extra step of applying the protectors in a steam up bathroom. Helps minimize dust, and the stream aids in installation).

do you mind posting some pictures?
After work I will post some pictures, I have the product pictures on me right now. Another thing is the product states that once applied to at least allow 12-24? hours to use. I am using it less than that, probably a bad move on my part. So far no problems, we'll see by the end of today.

Skinomi full body.
thanks for the pics! the screen protector looks awesome. the full body could be a bit larger. the back looks funny haha. but i really like that screen protector, i've always liked skinomis compared to other brands.
Thanks. Ya I could do it again but pull'em tighter. But I am very satisfied. I was surprised by how the body peices held up, I figured they would peel off in my pocket, but no problems. The only con's I can think of is there are some thin exposed parts of the phone, imprint of object or finger nail leaves dimples but fade smoothly; slowly. If applied correctly it will last.

I'm going to go get my bodyguardz now. Ill post up pics when I get it on
the bodyguardz kioske in the mall didn't have them in stock yet -_-. gotta order them online.. damnit
i got a invisible shield from best buy because i was impatient and didn't want to wait for shipping. they don't have the full body, so i got the screen protector.
i just finishd putting it on, the texture is different than previous zaggs i've used. also there are a bunch of horizontal lines evenly spaced (they were there before i put it on, not scratches) which you can see at certain angles. and they also have a little zagg logo on the bottom right of the screen protector.. that's new.. and annoying. it's hard to see, but since i know it's there. i don't like it -_-
i'll take some pictures when i can, but overall it's the same resistant non smooth that i dislike about zaggs.

Strange, I just installed a Zagg Invisishield, No pesky logo or anything. It feels pretty good... Maybe its just my greasy fingers

hmm, there isn't a little black "zagg" stamp on the bottom right in between the search button and the bottom of the screen against the edge?

Realook HTC Sensation Screen Protectors just came out **UPDATED w/ pic**

I know some ppl have been waiting for this to come out and I've been searching every morning for an update and saw them there today!
There seems to be an anti-glare version but it's currently unavailable.
http://www.amazon.com/REALOOK-T-Mob...UY7C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1311093514&sr=8-2

The Crystal Clear seems to be the one most people get for their phones. I had these on my Vibrant and you really couldn't notice that you had anything on there at all. On my other phones though it seemed to vary from phone to phone but overall good.
I bought some and will post pictures when I get a chance but I'm sure someone will get them before me lol.
Here's a 10% of realook products promo code that expires 7/31/2011

The promo code didn't work for me since I've redeemed this code previously. At least I think that's the reason why.
***UPDATED***
I do NOT recommend buying the Realook HTC Sensation screen protector. I was shocked when I opened the package today and saw that it does not cover the entire screen. The cut out is only for the display portion of the screen but what was more shocking was it doesn't even fit the full display portion. It doesn't cover the full screen and it doesn't even cover the portion of the display it was 'designed' for. I've contacted Realook to inquire about this to make sure I got the right one but on my package the code is #650.
I will post back if Realook responds to me but as of now I would not recommend anyone these screen protectors as they fall very short from previous standards.

Thanks man, I had it on my vibrant and was the best screen protector I have ever tried. Now... I'm worried because the dry application screen protectors are harder to sitck to the curved Sensation glass... will wait for some reviews and your pictures
This was most definitely the screen protector to have on the Vibrant. Please post pics when you can and let us know how it handles the curves on the Sensation.
Thanks for the heads up!
Agree. I have Realook on my Vibrant. Been waiting for these, but have 2 different cheaper brands I'm testing now, so will be very interested in whether they solve the curved glass bubble problem.
Thanks.

They both say "unavailable", and "we don't know when or if this item will be back in stock".
Please keep us posted on how the installation goes.
The one issue I have with the Realook on my Vibrant is it's a major fingerprint magnet. The Sensation non-glare version seems to be addressing this, but I wonder how much clarity and smooth finger sliding it sacrifices.
Use a hair dryer on the screen protector before u apply to phone. It worked for me. Saw it on another thread somewhere. Will post link when i find.

Just as I suspected might happen. I cut a spare Vibrant Realook to fit inside the obvious curve part of the Sensation screen and there was still a bubble around the edge all the way around. I knew they would either cut it very small or use a totally different material. Not good news.
Reinforces my view that this curved screen is much more trouble than it's worth.
Thanks for posting.
I asked my friend about the Realook he received for his Nexus S seeing as how the curved glass is more pronounced on the NS and he told me the same thing. I should have inquired about it first from him or Realook.
He spoke with Realook about his NS and they told him it was the right product and that's how they were designed for the curved glass. The one designed for his Nexus S was a joke it was 1 cm short on all sides.
I would steer clear of Realook if your phone has a curved screen.
I just got mine today and what a bad surprise... damn, I'm gonna try to contact Realook and see if I can return it

I can't say about this one, I didn't even tried them on but I had Realook on my Samsung Vibrant and those were perfect, really liked them and didn't get scratched easily.
I'm pretty good at screen protector application. I tried the first just to see if it was any better quality than the super cheap, full-screen protection ebay ones I received. Not only did I have a TON of bubbles that I could not remove (perhaps it was heat damaged in shipment??), but it does not cover the screen well at all. GARBAGE.

Yeah this is ridiculous. I have no desire to purchase anything from them again. I had problems with the edges of the ebay ones coming up a little (heated before install) and I just installed the second one of the 5 pack that was half the cost of the realook garbage, and all the edges laid down this time.
Honest question: Are screen protectors really necessary with Gorilla Glass screens? I had a G2 with a scratch on the screen that only happened from a harsh fall and slide, never got scratched from pocket / bag / backpack use; and that wasn't even GG. Of course, I don't put it with keys and whatnot.
Anyone ever scratch a GG screen from normal use? Or what did it take if you did?

[DEAL] Skinomi Tech Skin

I decided to check out a skin to increase the grip on my Touchpad. As I already have the Skinomi TechSkin on my SGSII which I find to be great, that`s a natural choice for my pad.
On clearance at $16.95 for the carbon fibre or wood effect for the Jaguar owners club and $12.95 for the clear. The body cover includes a screen protector also available for $6.95. Shipping to the UK is $5.95 BUT the GET25 code works for 25% off even though it`s on clearance. So for £12.07 shipped I get a full body cover and screen protector. Not bad!
Had my SGSII for about four months and it still looks brand new.

Saw this on FatWallet.com or slickdeals.net (forget which) and jumped on it.
I just paid $12.71US for the carbon fiber full skin and screen protector delivered!
Hell, I paid close to $30 for fully skinning my G-Tablet in woodgrain (looks awesome after 8 months, BTW).
just paid under $10 shipped for the clear. I'll come back after i install it and let you know how it went. thanks for the heads up on this.
The Touchpad is a little slippy for my taste and I find the HP case flap a little awkward at times but the CF skin adds a nice amount of friction and does protect from small knocks. Dropped my SGSII a couple of times no damage so far, though with the weight of the TP don`t think it would be that effective on to something hard from any great height. How well it forms to fit the curvy back remains to be seen. Still I`ll post feedback when I get it.
Don't buy if you want the back completely covered
Anybody considering these - be warned. They decided to cut holes in the back skin to reveal the hideous HP logo for some reason.
Neither their pictures nor descriptions on the website I ordered from showed or mentioned this design change/bad idea anywhere. So basically, what you see is NOT what you get.
Anyway, they are not interested in taking care of a repeat customer so my order was cancelled and a refund issued. That's OK, plenty of other companies standing in line to take my money.
Doesn't the cut out center hole have its own circle that could be placed back into the open area? What site sells a carbon fiber back without the cutout hole?
didn't like how the CF fitment looked so I just got the clear. Besides, my TP is always in the HP case anyways. Just wanted a little extra protection

If it does ... and you did put it back, that would really look like pure crap.
Maybe there's a chance the circle won't remove unless provoked? Just not into the idea of $30 for one of these carbon fiber cutouts, especially if the corners are questionable. I'm more concerned about boxwave or clarivue style anti-glare protectors to make the screen feel different. Personally, I find the HP logo on the back to be fugly, but there doesn't seem to be many options besides the folio cases that don't excite me too much.

Looks like it's mentioned and shown. On the carbon fiber pic, you can see the logo cutout clearly if you're looking for it, and can't see it if you aren't. No dishonesty there.

That was all changed well AFTER I called them out on several forums and cancelled my order.
Doesn't change a thing - even though they "tried" to line up the pattern I can see the circle clearly, even in those small pictures - as will anyone who gives it more than a glance. Looks like absolute ghetto to me. Here is one of the original pictures in this post: http://forums.precentral.net/hp-touchpad-accessories/298321-skinomi-techskins-touchpad-clearance-2.html#post3152302. Is that clear enough?
Maybe that is good enough for some of you, but I have higher aesthetic standards. The appearance though is only part of it. I was more disappointed by their behavior in changing the product AFTER a number of people had placed orders. They will have some returned when people see how they actually look in person.

I just got mine installed the hole in the opposite direction to the normal grain. It has an Escher affect to it that I like.
Any alignment issues? Mine's still sitting here, unopened. Unsure if I'll even use it. A return would probably only get me $8 or 9 dollars back.

Mine finally arrived. The fitting was easy but as ever with this job lining things up is the hardest part I was about 1 mm top to bottom and about 1/2mm to the side out in placing the CF skin but it`s close enough. The screen protector is accurately cut but again after about 5 goes lining it up I ended up about 1mm out and got a dust mote trapped under it. Very clear after only 12 hours and has a good feel to it. Almost as good as the glass but doesn`t show fingerprints off any where near as much.

Does it work with wireless chargers? The Poetic one, I've discovered doesn't.
Nice photos of the Nillkin cases, cant wait for mine to come. Just wondering though, what screen protectors do you have on? Or is there none on?
I also ordered the leather case in grey :highfive:. Ordered on the 1st and still waiting. I bought it from a seller on ebay which ships via hong kong airmail. Just wondering where you ordered, how long it took and if it was delivered at your door or mail? :good:
I agree. I got the black one and I love the feel of it.

hey. i wanted to know if this case would work with an edge to edge screen protector? I currently have the XOSkins full body protector which covers the curved edges right to the edge of the display. will this case cause bubbling or peeling? thanks.

If the poetic case didn't work, I can't see this working then. But you never know.

The case come with a screen protector. I don't have a per say screen protector. But I do have something else on my screen. I've been using this stuff for a year now.

I think if your careful and put the phone slowly into the case with the screen protector on. You could be OK.

I am really intrested in this special coating spray, could you tell me how it compares to a screen protector in terms of protection and feel to the hand.
Because I am realy fed up with screen protectors so I would like to give this a try. Can you use it and, not even need a case afterwards?
Thanks in advance,
Is there something that holds the cover closed?

I was once in your shoes. I hated using screen protector. Depending on the brand. Some will have an orange peel effect. Others will have a harder time getting all the bubbles out. I've tried all major brand. Was never satisfied. It always looked like I have a screen protector. Some weren't as smooth to the touch and felt like there was some drag when swiping. But with this liquid armor, you spray twice on the micro fiber cloth supplied and apply to the phones screen and back glass. Wait ten minutes to dry before use. It take about 24hrs to fully cure. The screen feels smooth and responsive just like it would be without a screen protector. I would always recommend to at least have a bumper if you don't want a full case. This product will protect the screen not the phone.

The way the case is made is that there's a little ridge that makes the case flap close perfectly with the rest of the phone. There's no magnets or clicks. I'll try to take a close up picture of that.
Nothing holds the flap. But that seems okay for me, my pocket hold the flap.
As for charging, my lg wireless charger works with this case.
Also, it's not leather... Good fake leather.

Here is the ridge I was talking about! It stays close and flush pretty well

Just ordered mine finally.
Says it should arrive Jan 4th or before. How accurate is the shipping with this seller?
Here is hoping the best and wise purchase!
At least, until the mythical otterbox for the N4 comes out.
I ordered mine on white 2 weeks ago and received it on Dec27 while the estimated delivery was on Jan22 so it was REALLY FAST... I haven't seen it yet because I'm in New York but my brother sent me a pic and it does look nice

Its not rubber, more like a textured pleather feeling material. It does not glide on the desk...its gripy.

Looking for tempered glass screen protector.

The cases and film based screen protectors are starting to appear on Amazon but I haven't noticed any tempered glass screen protectors.
If anyone finds any (that will ship to Canada) please post the link. The Tab S will stay in the box until I get a screen protector. I may have to buy a cheap plastic one to hold me over.
I wonder if a Tab Pro 8.4 protector would work?
Thanks,
D

Believe it or not I have managed to do this in the past. I actually take the tablet out of the box but don't unwrap it. Lol I will usually turn the tablet on ... With the wrapper still on ... to check the screen for dead pixels but that's it. I ended up ordering a film based protector. It will hold me over.
I want tempered glass cover.... But I will just be gentle with it until they have one

Most likely not at all since it probably wouldn't cover the home button. This design is similar to the S5 and I have not heard of any issues.

Until I find a good one in the Market. I will use this regular screen protector. I ordered it yesterday and it will be delivered tomorrow. It looks worthy for a 5 pack with prime shipping for $5.95

LOL at the lifetime warranty... but the include 5 in a pack...LOL
I don't know what everybody does with their phone or tablet, but I have never used a screen protector or seen the need for it. Especially since they introduced gorilla glass.

I saw this awhile ago but they don't ship to Canada.
My experience with these tempered glass protectors isn't good. For one if you bend the edge at all installing it it will never stick down property again. Also, with some time and wear the edges tend to lift up and once they do you can't stick it down again.
You are better off with just a standard screen protector.

For me it's the opposite. I have applied wet and dry film protectors and I find tempered glass is the best. After years of practice I am able to apply these glass protectors so they have no visual flaws. You couldn't tell there was a second layer on the tablet. Since these protectors are more expensive than the plastic film style and they don't come in multi packs, if you have never applied a screen protector, then I would practise first. But a package of cheap protector and get the feel for the application process.
Exact oppressor here as well. I love mine on the note 3
I'm waiting for a tempered glass to show up too (in canada).
Im using a plastic one until I get a glass one next month from china, i'm also promised one from samsung store once they receive them.
i've seen a few from yahoo.hk, but i'm sure they won't send internationally.
I got this one free from samsung store, the brand is A.R.M, it's a hong kong brand.
Quality is good, but I wish they cover the top of the ear piece, oh and these are not the china one's, all their plastic ones are made in japan.
