I just updated titanium backup just a couple of hrs ago and it seems to keep crashing on startup...has anyone noticed this?
Yeah, happens to me too. There will probably be a new release tomorrow with a fix

I've come across an interesting (at least now) issue w/ my Samsung Captivate. I don't know if the last OTA update is the source if I'm just "lucky". I'd rooted it a couple of weeks ago. Only loaded Titanium Backup and Busybox. I don't recall rebooting the phone since the update was installed. But I had back on Monday. When it started back up the widgets would not fully load. I had let it sit for a while and nothing. On rebooting a few times and trying different launchers, TWLauncher, ADW, and LauncherPro the issue kept occuring. Then I noticed I could not get the phone to download any new or update apps from the Android market. It would say it was getting ready to download but nothing more. To top it off the Check for Updates option would not respond from the setting menu for the phone.
After trying a few things I wound up reloading the update.zip used to root the phone and after the reboot it started working. Rebooted a couple of times to make sure it was behaving and it did. That was a big relief.
However just today I'd rebooted it again and the same issue reoccurred. Upon reloading the update.zip it once again worked as normal again.
I was considering unrooting but hesitant due to this.
Has anyone come across this or have suggestions of the root cause of this?
Did you use Titanium Backup to restore data to your phone? There is a known issue with TB if you restore your Accounts settings with it. It will cause the unable to download from market issues. When you do the restore, remove the checkmark from Accounts and just reinput your account info manually.
First let me say, that my battery died yesterday and when I got a chance to charge it and start up my Gtab, a few of my apps decided not to work anymore. Market was one of those. I tried goin to Titanium backup and that isn't working. As matter of fact, most of my downloaded apps aren't working anymore. I unistalled titanium backup and reloaded and it still doesn't work. Any idea what is the issue could be?
I did have TNT 2.2 on it yesterday and rerooted it with 3.1 and I still have issues, I can't iron out. Any input would be greatful!
Looks like it cleared out my App folder. I am reloading all my apps and seem to be working back to way it used to. To bad I lost all of my favorites
I routinely make a backup of the Titanium saved folder from sdcard and either put it on sdcard2 or on my pc so I can restore from there.
That is a good idea. I should do that.
Thanks!
**Update** It was a problem with my backup file I restored.
Hey all, got updated to 4.4 and rooted, but Google Chrome is crashing instantly now and I can't figure out the cause. I have cleared cache and data, uninstalled with titanium backup and fresh installed from the play store, nothing helps. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Googling came up with nothing so I don't feel like this is a popular issue or maybe I just missed a public service announcement.

Nope, definitely not having that issue.... factory reset maybe? Titanium backup and factory reset.
I had my first scheduled Titanium backup run last night, but when I woke up I found that my Wi-Fi and mobile data connections weren't working (even though they still displayed as connected/functional). Has this happened to anyone else? What could be going on here?
(Rebooting fixed things, but I'm still curious as to why this happened.)

Never use titanium backup for system apps. Only use for purposes of restoring the user apps you download and such. By scheduling the system apps/etc, the program actually breaks those apps/programs functions by restore/backup. Especially with titanium backup, refer to other threads that have had similar issues to see as well.
Since Android 6.0, I have used TB successfully several times to restore apps. For some reason today TB just hangs on restoration. The little symbol keeps spinning. Any suggestions?
Maybe someone can verify that they can restore missing apps to stock ROM using TB and what version of TB & SU they are using. I currently have TB 7.4.0 and SU 2.65.
I've had that problem from time to time. I'm using 7.40 also and I wrote the developer a couple of months ago about that problem. I never got an answer and forgot about it since it doesn't happen that often. I usually go into my apps and force stop TB to get out of it. By any chance it isn't an app on the SD is it? Eventually the app will restore if I play around with it.
Try restoring the app alone without the data then going back and restoring just the data.

Apps are on internal storage, backups are on external storage. Restoring app alone did not work. Reverted TB back to 7.3.0.2 and I can now restore deleted apps.

I reported the repeatable issue to developer including that there is no issue with 7.3.0.2. Got the form e-mail that they will get back within 48 hours. Never heard a word since. Just wish I could disable the playstore notifications of the update to 7.4.
