That video and forum post refer to using Minimalistic Text and a barcode font to create a barcode widget. Download Minimalistic Text from Google Play and the barcode font from Dafont. Create a custom widget using the 0 through 100 battery level percentages and change the font to the barcode font you downloaded. The video will show you how.
