I would imagine there would be no easy way. Seems like anything to do with something like this involves "pushing" and "pulling" with ADB. So no easy to do .apk unlocker unless you get it from the market.

Honestly Widget Unlocker from the market is great. I love the customizing nature of it. It's like 2 bucks but definitely worth every penny.

And there is a way to get rid of the status bar icon, it's under settings somewhere
The app is called wedgit locker. Great app 5stars a must have app great customize ability for your lock screen thanks for the tip. Well worth the 2$ everybody go get it.

I just looked up Springpad, and thats not what I was talking about...... Banner allows you to put whatever kind of text on your screen, like your name or something.
