to install you need to have the android sdk installed.
place the bootanimation.zip file into the tools directory of the sdk folder.
enable usb debugging on your phone, plug in your phone and choose charge only if prompted.
open a cmd prompt cd into the tools directory of the sdk folder.
first backup your old bootanimation with
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
mv /system/media/bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip.bak
exit
now push the new bootanimation with
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
now test the new bootanimation by turning on the screen on your phone and entering
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
or rebooting your phone
hope you like it.
Cool! Will you put this in a flashable .zip?

would be cool to have the music along with it!
adding music would be copyright infringement though

Hello guys!
I hope this thread would not be considered as "warez". Polaris Office is currently only distributed as a pre-loaded app, for Android devices, by different HW vendors. And there is no way, that I am aware of, to be able to buy the app if you like it or need it.
I've copied the binaries needed, from my smartphone, to test the app on my KF. And so far it is working ok. No crashes.
I am attaching the files needed to install the app, if you want to give it a try.
PS: There is an "Update" option available on the Settings menu. This is not working and will cause the app to crash. Do not use it.
Install instructions:
1- Copy the PolarisOffice.apk file to /system/app. Change the permission to rw-r--r--
2. Extract the lib.zip file. And copy the content (libpolarisoffice.so and libpolarisoffice_Clipboard.so) to /system/lib. Change the permission of both .so files to rw-r--r--

I am sorry to hear that. Just to clarify, did you followed the install procedure (copying the files to /system/app and /system/lib)?
I will try to test the app using this rom on my device.

I put the files in the appropriate folder and believe i granted them access...i was a little unclear on the RW-R-R part of your description...but the files are definitely in the right spots.

This is the boot-animation that was on the Nexus 7 given out at I/O before it received the JB OTA. The only thing i changed is the screen dimensions to fit to our N1s.
Preview
(Note: animated gif is 6 mb, so it may load some time until you see the full beauty of the nexus dna (as i like to call it))

Install
The flashable Zip (nexus7-bootanimation-signed.zip) can be installed via recovery.
If you downloaded the bootanimation.zip, place the downloaded zip in path of adb and type
1.) Backup your current bootanimation:
Code:
adb pull /system/media/bootanimation.zip bootanimation-backup.zip
2.) Push new bootanimation
Code:
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/media/bootanimation.zip
adb shell rm /data/local/bootanimation.zip (may or may not exist)
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media

That's the JB boot animation. This is the Nexus7. I prefer this because the graphics are much better. With tommert38's JB animation, i think the glow effect is just too pixelated (though i don't know if that is just because the original one is like this).
Looks pretty cool to me.. Thanks

flashing now. thanks!
My favorite aspect of the new Windows 8 was the little spinning dots that would be there at startup (at least in the developer builds). Well, I decided to make a boot animation from that.

The actual boot amination runs much smoother than the gif
I made this for the G2x so it should work on any HDPI display.
To install:
Download the zip: View attachment W8BootSpin.zip
Use any file manager with Root access (ie. Rootexplorer)
Move the zip to /system/media/ and rename it to bootanimation.zip
Change the permissions to (rw-r--r--) or (Owner: Read Write, Group: Read, Others: Read)
Reboot and enjoy!
If you like this, please click thanks!
phone is not starting after doing that thing, I think i gotta reinstall the ROM !! ?

What all did you do? I have never had a boot animation cause a no boot issue.

I downloaded the zip file and moved it to system/media and then renamed as bootanimation.zip
Before that I deleted the old animation because it did not let me change the name.
I did the wipe from cwm menu phone works now without win 8 animation...

Have you tried one of those boot animation managers that they have on the play store. I don't know if that will work or not but it could be worth a try.

no I have not, but it is okay I actually does not need to add a bootanimation.
First and foremost, you must be ROOTED already
As a quick intro, I don't like annoying notifications. Especially ones that cannot be hidden with one click
Here is a quick demo on how to disable the notification of power saver mode:
For the quickest results, TURN POWER SAVER MODE OFF FIRST!
So there are two ways to do this
Option 1.) With a PC that has ADB ready to go
First step, type in
PHP:
adb shell
Then, if not ROOT already, type SU (output should look as follows mostly)
Code:
[email protected]_m8wl:/ # su
su
Then, you must type in the shell prompt:
PHP:
pm disable com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver
Output as follows:
Code:
[email protected]_m8wl:/ # pm disable com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver
ble com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver <
Component {com.htc.htcpowermanager/com.htc.htcpowermanager.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver} new state: disabled
Option 2.) No PC
In this option you will have to download a Terminal Emulator.
In the terminal window, first step is to type:
Code:
SU
Then, after permitting root access, type in the following:
PHP:
pm disable com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver
FInale
Assuming all went through, this is what the final product should function and look like:
