Sorry... I have no idea about it
Why didn't you get an android tablet in the first place?
You will need to build or get someone to build you a custom kernel specific to your hardware, hence the reason for the "jumping to kernel" error when trying to run haret.
I should be possible if you know what your doing, dependant on hardware specs
How to root Viewpad 7?
Anybody suceeded?
Ok,
Use SuperOneClick, just make sure to click 'run as admin' if win7. That was were I screwed up.
In case you have issues here is a step by step:
a) Download the latest version of Super One Click (currently 1.6.5).
b) Place your Android device into debugging mode, and connect to computer.
c) Right-click the Super One Click executable and select 'Run As Administrator'.
d) At program launch select 'rageagainstthecage' exploit method, then select 'Root'.
e) If there is no activity for more than 30 seconds and the terminal display is stuck at 'Running rageagainstthecage....' remove the USB plug momentarily and plug back in.
f) You should get the message “***IF IT KEEPS LOOPING, TRY DISABLING USB DEBUGGING NOW***” followed by an ADB reset, waiting for device, and finally a successful rooting message. (Apparently the looping issue is a known bug).
g) Once this process is complete your prompted to test the root condition. Follow the steps to verify.
Yes, I rooted it that way. Thank you very much!
How about unroot with Super One Click, does it work too?

Now let's put Gingerbread or Honeycomb on it!!
I'm working on an AOSP port of Gingerbread for the Viewpad 7 as we speak. Once I can get the basics working I'll open a dedicated thread.

I don't know of any way TV out would be possible since there is no mini-HDMI port on the device. One of the main things that should be fixed is HD video playback. It really seems like Viewsonic rushed they're tablets to the market. Aside from that and lack of Flash I think it's a great tablet...especially for a developer. Having the 3G radio and GPS is really nice, as well as the screen compatibility mode.

It uses a Qualcomm MSM7227 ARM11v6 processor with Adreno 200 graphics, clocked at 600MHz. It's been benchmarked in direct comparison to it's 1GHz Snapdragon cousins, so don't let the clock speed fool you (performance would be comparable to the original Motorola Droid). It's certainly capable of running Flash, but Adobe has been less than forthcoming about releasing a version which will support this architecture.
There are many other devices using this chip that have been released just a couple months ago, so it is still very much in wide use. I don't think anyone has ever found a workaround (aside from using Flash Lite). So until Adobe comes around, we'll be stuck using Skyfire.

Because Adobe decided not to support the ARM11v6 processor architecture, even though they had a working build for it. You can use Skyfire browser to watch flash videos in the meantime.
BTW, guys, where to get and how to install custom recovery on Viewpad7 ?
I can't install custom ROM, reason of stock recovery wan't install unsigned update.zip ;(
Hallo guys..
I tried on my viewpad7, superoneclick 1.7 on linux ubuntu.. but no success.. any hint for me?
always stop at
chmod..
I read to do a adb reset, but I am a bit ..
For the recovery rom I saw in modaco that there is a clockwork recovery rom ad hoc.. but I need root to install it.
ahh, before root it, I wish to have a backup, anybody know a way to backed up the original rom ?
thank you!!!
Per request I've created a separate thread documenting the installation of alternative recovery partitions and installing custom firmwares. You can find it here:

Hello,
no it sounds that in linux the SuperOneclick doesn't work with this viewpad7..
I read some groups in germany and only windows 7 ... umm
But really there is no way to backup the rom before root?
I am in with adb .. but read not permitted..
Hi, just recently some student tablets started to drop in my shop with problems, the latest one was an Indipad 10" made by LGS Caribbean, that is ALL the info I know about it since there are no labels anywhere in the tablet or the box, my guess is a generic Chinese re-branded tablet and it looks like is running ICS 4.0.1 but can't be sure since is locked with a number password. The client brought the tablet in cause her child was playing with it and activated the password screen lock and of course the child doesn't remember what he typed in. :silly:
I'm either looking to unlock the tablet, factory reset it or re-flash stock rom.
I already tried using the volume +/-/power combo for the recovery but it takes me to the android boot error screen, so I guess it has no recovery installed or it was deleted on purpose by the company. Also tried entering a lot of failed passcodes to see if it brings the account recovery option, but is a no go.
Did a Google search to see if I could also find a rom to flash on it but since I'm limited on the info about it nothing has come up.
Many thanks for any help.
No one?
Same thing right here. But i can tell you it is running android 4.0.4, and the build number is: crane_m1003h6-eng 4.0.4 IMM76D 20120921. Of course as you may know the 20120921 is the date so my guess is that it depends on how many updates those tablets have received already. Anyway, the recovery works, cus i have one in here working and you can access recovery from inside android(when you go to factory reset it gives you an option to do so, i did and it works perfect). But again just like you said, It wont work using hardware buttons. I was trying to find someone who can contact me from LGS Carribean but no luck at all. Just nothing, i have a working INDIPAD at this moment and thats how im telling you whats the firmware version and build. Like you said on your post, its an issue dealing with generic tablets it really is. I have not found even a similar enough firmware for the tablet to flash, but i can confirn you can use LiveSuitPack to flash them. Only issue is that i havent found a firmware to do so lol.... And ive look just about everywhere. Im going to run USB deview to check what the real hardware is and brand, if im able to find something ill let you know M8
Many thanks, client called in today and told her I'm still looking for a solution. Will wait for what you find.
Did you get this resolved?
Not yet, @home atm, so I'll check tomorrow for an update.
Seems we still on the black
Yes we are, so far i can tell you the processor is an A10, so its an A10 device. It shows as T10a for manufacturer, but so far thats all i can tell you. There might be a way to pull the firmware image from a working Indipad so that we have something to flash on the password protected ones. But for now, we are all waiting on something
Have same issue

My mother-in-law is an English teacher and has several students with the same issue with a password they forgot or they locked the tablet on accident. I haven't been able to factory reset, but when you mentioned T10a, a quick Google search led me to show that EKEN makes T10a tablets.
I hope I'm not leading you down a rabbit trail, but here is their support site with manuals and firmware downloads
Also, searching on XDA apparently there is a way to get CWM on the EKEN T10a and instructions to flash to their latest ROM.
I haven't had a lot of experience with flashing ROMs, but I have flashed my personal devices before. So please let me know if this is possible in any way. I wouldn't want to mess something up. Well, I hope this helps.

Sweet, I'll do a hardware comparison tomorrow with EKEN T10a and see if they are identical devices (at least from the outside), if they match I'll just try that. The device is a brick atm so it doesn't matter trying to experiment with it.

The one for T10A, version "T10 G-SENSOR6225".
I also had a bit of a problem at first trying to boot it into flash mode, but what I did was go to the device manager in Windows and saw that there where 2 copies of the special driver that the "LiveSuitPack_version_1.09_20111101.exe" installs, one with the checkmark like they said, the other I assumed was the tablet connected, so I deleted the one with checkmark and tried again, this time it went through and started the flashing process which took less than 2 minutes.
Straight after attaching the cable, and whilst still holding down the volume+ button, start pressing the tablet power button repeatedly. This (slightly frenzied) procedure puts the tablet into update mode.

That was the tricky part, to make it boot into flash mode, it has to be fast between connecting and starting to press the buttons, I took like a 1 second delay between the two things.
Also, got to point out I didn't do the CWM or the root mod, just did the firmware flash cause that's what the client wanted.
Its allright buddy, and thanks. Thing is that i was trying to update it as it said on the Ekken website. But the tablet didnt accept the SdCard update at all. I told you it should be done using LiveSuit and yet i was afraid of bricking the device using LiveSuit ha ha.... Thanks a lot guys, case solved. It took all of us to do so but hey, we made it!!!!

Their server is kinda slow but I use Free Download Manager to download big files and speed up the download.
Also remember this was an experiment and it worked by chance, so no guarantee that it will for every indiPad out there, specially if the manufacturer changes the hardware, you should check the hardware info on the tablet just to make sure we are talking about the same tablet model or you could brick your device.
thanks bro, i know about rom experimental, i think same tablet from Puerto Rico, indiPAD, same eken t10a.

Strange ... it's not that old. I looked it up out of curiosity and it was being reviewed as something 'new' at the very end of 2013.
You mentioned not seeing a download (of any kind) for your tablet on the AOC web site, but you didn't mention whether or not you've phoned the company's '800' number, or if you've spoken with one of their service technicians.
Did you come across this page, headed Centros de Servicio, for Chile?
For some reason, the "Q-series" does not show on their web site, but perhaps if you can get to speak with a technician, you could explain your problem?

Looking at the linked page, in addition to the company's '800' number, there are 13 AOC service centers in Chile, each with its own phone number and each with at least one technician? You don't need a warranty repair, just someone to tell you where to get flashing instructions.
If no luck in Chile, try contacting AOC in another country, where they may have better support for the 'Q series' of tablets.
AOC (Admiral Overseas Corporation International) isn't a 'shoestring operation'. The company dates back to its 1934 founding, in the US. Keep on trying, don't give up so easily.
I have also emailed AOC USA
Someone named 'Patricio' has a kernel for your tablet. You didn't say you needed that, but if they are working with your tablet at that level of complexity, this might be a source to find out why your ROM won't 'stick' after flashing.
There's also someone else, from Chile, working with your tablet's firmware. He also should know how to make your ROM flash 'stick'.
This may or may not apply to AOC tablets, but with the non-branded phone imports, it has been known for a manufacturer to keep the same model name but make hardware changes on later production runs. If you get an expert's flashing instructions and it still doesn't work, then look for internal identification numbers and see if that matches with the ROM's source.
As you may know, that match has to be 100% or the firmware won't work after flashing.
Yes Patricio has shared the stock images with me but when I tried to flash it it said that I need a rk3188loader.bin. I tried with a rk3188loader.bin from a ROM from Oma´s Pipo U8. It wouldn't go past the AOC Splash screen. So I flashed Oma´s Pipo U8 but it will not stay if I turn off the tablet. I don't know much about rk3xxx. I use too Samsung android. They are way different. The way the Roms are built and the way they flash.
???
I guess I need the rk3188loader for the stock ROM.
Does anyone know anything about flashing rockchip devices? Do I need a different rk3188loader.bin? Are they the same for all? I am trying to understand this.
Patricio gave me a different parameter.img than came in the KitKat ROM and I haven't installed any of the apps that came in the ROM. I don't know which one it is but I can reboot the phone or turn it off and it turns back on. I think it was me deleting the apps I don't use in the system like google+ mxplayer ( because I use mxplayer pro) but it works ? thanks to everyone for the help.

Q70S15 firmware
Hi Patricio, I also have the Q70S15 and I need to root it, but I didnt find any backup firmware on the internet...the files you posted here are the ones of that tablet? If so,can you confirm please? Do you speak spanish, if so I can write in that language too.
Thank buddy, waiting your reply....
First of all, let me introduce myself. My name's Rafael and this is my 1st post in this forum. I hope humbly that you can to help me with the problem that I'll show you then:
Well. To begin, the issue is this... I am working with a telephone that's not mine. Somebody sent it to me to fix it, they said me that the phone doesn't download more apps because of "full memory". When I checked it, apparently it had the internal memory partitioned incorrectly, it said it was 16gb total storage with 7 GB available, but when I was installing some apps and went back to see the memory, it showed the Available Storage Memory with a large negative number, and it wasn't letting me install more apps. Some of the features of the phone are the following (according to MTK Droid Tools):
MTK6589 <---------(Actually it's MTK6571)
Model Name: Galaxy S5
Android Version: 4.4.4 <---------(Questionable)
Model Number: SM-G900H
Base Band: G900HXXU1ANCE
Then, to see if I could make some change, I decided to install a custom ROM, apparently for MTK6589 (at that time I didn't suspect about the horrible phone's falsehood). I wanted to see if this ROM brought the partition configured correctly. I tried to carry out the installation by the CWM Recovery from SD card. It turned out that the installation did not exceed 10% and it froze there. Then I removed the battery of the phone and inserted it again. When I try to turn it back on, it stays on the screen Mediatek. And from there, it does absolutely nothing more.
I've tried to flash back the backup that I made to the phone with MTK Droid Tools, both version 5 of SP Flash Tool as version 3, but I'm still not achieving positive results, always it throws me errors errors and more errors . I've searched all over the web, compatible ROMs for this phone, but apparently there is not anything. The only way in which (at least) it begins to flash from SPFT v5, is loading a ROM MTK6571; if not, it only throws errors. However, I've already tried, but it gave me error. It appears when the yellow bar that says Download Flash reaches 3%, and then it throws the error.
The only possible solution I see is to make a ROM (from the backup I made to the phone with MTK Droid Tools before to **** it up) installable from recovery (CWM) that is the only thing that works relatively well. And I have not reached that conclusion alone, but in bilateral agreement with an expert from another forum with who I have almost a month discussing the issue.
I really need help buddies. I am desperate because I'm a bit under pressure because I have almost a month with the phone without achieving the desired results. :crying:
Greetings and thanks in advance to any of you who want to help me.
PD: Sorry for my bad English if I committed mistakes.

Do NOT do this. None of them will work.
Your issue is that 99% of the time clones dont not have the software they claim and are never made by the company they claim they are. You could try porting a rom over that has the same chip but ill be honest. XDA doesnt really do anything with cheap knock off devices. Most people avoid them like the plague.
Sorry for my previous post..... I didn't read carefully. It's not s5 its clone....

I was thinking about to take system.ubifs.tar and boot.img from the backup, to turn it into a bootable (installable) ROM from the recovery. Is it somehow possible?

Best advise is that you can try. Like I said we dont deal with clones at all really.
Worst thing that will happen is that it wont work and you learned a lesson about clone devices.
