Download not working for me. Get a 0 byte file. Tried on the phone and a computer. Rehost?

Awesome, works great. Is there a way to modify this so that
1) it doesnt show certain albums such as as ALL PHOTOS or ALL DOWNLOADS
I know this is possible with default app
2) make this default gallary application

Thank you BLOWNCO for the actual 2.2 3D gallery

I got this on my phone but it's not opening like an .apk, i tried to unzip it but there's a .xml .dex and .arsc file. Help?

try opening it in ASTRO...click on the .zip, then click the apk...works great

Anyone having problems seeing all your picasa folders with the 3D gallery for froyo? Mine will load up several of my folders after waiting for it to download them for a while but then doesn't download them all. I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it twice (and wiping all the data) and for some reason it still doesn't show all my folders. Also tried syncing all my accounts.
Nevermind. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling a third time, wiped data, synced my accounts and all my folders loaded this time after being more patient with the app.

Peace All,
whats the difference between this 3D gallery and this one and Cooliris 3D Gallery Full Froyo support for 8MP?
-ZDK-

Can't get over how bad the touch response is in that device. The dudes sliding his finger all over the place and that phone aint doing ****. Its horrible. Thats all...

Did the Pinch Gallery and it works great..

Anyone know how to make this the default gallery?

[Request] Mod for Gmail app and Camera app

Hey, I was wondering if it was possible to mod the gmail app so that it allows you to download attachments directly from the app rather than just previews. Also for the Camera app when viewing pictures you have taken, is it possible to mod it so u can change the picture by swiping like in the gallery instead of using the stupid forward and backward arrows? Any devs wanna give it a shot?
The camera thing might be possible... the gmail thing... well, the gmail app is closed source & proprietary....
pretty sure froyo has direct download from gmail
anyone wanna take a crack at modding the camera to do this?

unknown doesnt allow anything i dont believe. The attachments are context based on whether you can download. Do you have specific file types you want me to check?

Shootme screenshots don't show up in galleries until after reboot. Skyraider 2.2

As the title states, screenshots don't show up until after reboot. I tried with gallery3d and the stock galleries.
Drocap works ok.
I'm running Skyraider vanilla. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

I'm running 2.2 Vanilla - I use Drocap, personally, but I downloaded Shootme to test it out for you. Mine don't show up in the *Gallery* right away, but they are indeed on the sdcard. I used Astro to navigate to /sdcard/Shootme.
I think upon boot the OS scans your SD card for new photos and aggregates them into your gallery. If I'm not mistaken, the only other time it aggregates new photos is if you actually *open* the photo through Astro or something, thus adding it to the OS's database file. Kind of how it takes the OS a while to generate thumbnail previews the first time you boot a fresh ROM install.
Hope this helps...
Yeah, I knew they were stored, I just thought it's strange cause they were loaded into to the galleries immediately with all other roms I tried including skyraider 1.x.

Your right, it has never been like that before. Its also doing the same thing on The Second Wave. Kind of a pisser.
I am using the stock 2.2 leak from 8/1 and that shows the picture in the gallery instantly.
For me the bigger question is how go you tell it what folders to show and not show in the gallery? I font think I need to see my cache folder or some other app folders in there.

How has this been modified?
The best difference is this one syncs with your Picasa web albums. It also looks alot nicer than the stock photo album but does load slower. I use it because Ive got about 8000 pictures organized on Picasa and Id rather not use memory card space for them.
I believe this one is the modded vanilla android 3d gallery with the resolution cap fixed and it loads faster.
Write this its great! Never knew about the picasa sync. Anyway to show only pics from camera? Right now it shows all pictures on phone. Thanks!

place a period in front of the folder that has pictures you want to hide. For example if you have a folder on your sd card titled pictures rename it to .pictures and it'll be hidden from the gallery. Keep in mind youll have to use astro or estrong to view those images again

I think its the same one. I was simply looking for the APK. Once found it, I edited the thread and posted it for those that were interested.
does this one allow you to share to "messaging" on sense roms?
It does with handcent
This gallery is force closing like crazy on my Evo. Anyone else experience this?
Does this really load faster. I love the look of the 3d gallery but it loads painfully slow, especially when opening a picture from when you go through a file explorer or an email.

[APP] (5/27/2012) Stock ICS AOSP Messaging (MMS >600K), Keyboard, and more

WARNING: All of the APKs in this post are entirely experimental and are not recommended as daily drivers. I will be updating the APKs as best I can but I am not the original author; it will be some time before we find fully working AOSP APKs to replace system apps. Your mileage may vary, use at your own discretion.
OP: What's up everyone? Lately, most of the HTC apps have been getting on my nerves; notably, the Messaging app with its 600k MMS limit and with a few other problems that just grind my gears, like font resizing.
Messaging:
I have found the SMS/MMS APK that works perfect with the One X. It's able to send and receive MMS, and has no noticeable apparent crashes (forwarding crash fixed).
http://goo.gl/qbSJ5
(5/26/2012) I have edited the MMS.apk file to stop it from compressing large images to oblivion. All images will now send at full quality.
It is recommended you make MMS.apk a system app by moving it to /system/app. (5/27/2012) There are reports of the MMS.apk not properly sticking as a system application. I RUU'd back to 1.85, and flashed a rooted 1.85 partition. From here, I deleted the original Message+CRC_1.apk, installed this APK normally, then converted it to a system application. I have had few crashes, I will look into them.
Keyboard:
I also have an ICS keyboard (LatinIME.apk) file that works as a great ICS keyboard. without all of the Play Store non-sense. If you guys need or have dictionaries, let me know and I'll update this post.
http://goo.gl/Z8Htd
Gallery:
http://goo.gl/2ZsI9
(5/27/2012) It has been reported that the Gallery settings do not work. I will look for a better Gallery.apk that functions better with the One X.
Calendar: (5/27/2012)
Here is the AOSP Calendar. It seems to be working fine for me except it shows my Google account twice. Please reply to this thread if you can recreate this bug.
http://goo.gl/LtZAh
I uninstalled the Sense Gallery and the Sense Messaging apps and have noticed no significant flaws. As stated in the beginning of this post, your mileage may vary. If you encounter bugs or problems, reply to this thread. Thank you all for testing these APKs, feel free to PM me with ideas or information on these apps.
How would I go about uninstalling the stock messaging app? When I try to install the MMS Apk it says "an existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed."
EDIT: Nevermind, used Titanium Backup and put the apk in /system/app
Backup with TiBu and move mms.apk to system/app then set permissions.
Had a few fcs and a weird one where mms would show up as unknown number which to my knowledge is impossible lol
Kinda cool actually... After a reboot all is well

Well this is a weird one, message sends fine when sent from the existing thread. If sent from the gallery or any other app it creates a new message without switching to mms mode... Now if you stay in this new message and attach the picture again you get this ..
Its like it sends the picture, gets lost and then a blank SMS comes from an unknown number. Btw when you send pictures from existing thread it compressed 1.4mb to 68kb... Somehow tibu deleted my original HTC SMS app so I'll stick with this for now

The correct APK is uploaded now. Sorry! You should have no problem installing the APK from anywhere now. It is recommended you move the APK to /system/app, but you can do this simply with Titanium Backup.
I still can't get it to work!!! I downloaded the apk, moved the stock messages apk into the downloads folder to back it up, then moved the modded file into the system/app folder. All of this in es file explorer with the system mounted option checked. I tried both clicking the apk to install it and just restarting my phone. Install fails and app isn't in launcher after reboot. What am I doing wrong?

[MOD REQUEST] SecMMS.apk

Alright well sprints latest OTA has the SecMMS.apk that does not show single pictures as slideshows, but instead shows them normally. Well i tried pulling the apk and using it on the verizon s3 but it didn't work I put in system/app and alas nothing worked. So im requesting that somebody edit it/mod it/whatever needs to be done, to make it work on our S3's
I attached the zip file that has the SecMMS.apk in it as well as the odex file, i would like it to work on deodexed stock roms
and here's the framework-res.apk https://www.dropbox.com/s/t6et6bqelqj0ed8/framework-res.apk

Bump, anything anybody?
For me it only shows as a slideshow if text is included. Otherwise it just pulls up as a normal pic. Are you sure the sprint mms app behaves differently?

I would assume you have to be rooted since it will most likely have to be pushed to your system apps, i tried pushing it there but it wouldn't work.
As far as the one click root, if you aren't flashing any kind of system img then you should keep your data, but i always assume that ill be losing my data when rooting.

Interestingly I can only save pics that are part of the slideshow presentation by pausing then hitting menu > save attachment. On the regular image view the only option is Set picture as. However, from the message list view I can long press both types (those with text and without) and the option to save attachment is there.
