[Q] now that we have root, anyway to put blockbuster out over hdmi? - Droid X Themes and Apps

I have a micro hdmi cable, but the blockbuster app doesn't allow movies over hdmi. any way around this now that root has been achieved?
also as a side note: why is shipping from China free to Hawaii, but when shipping from the states I gotta purchase 2nd day air delivery?

I would like to see this too, this is the only thing that would make me want to root my phone. Flash kind of sucks right now since its in beta. I really am pissed that Verizon and Moto let this happen.

[Q] Android phones with a flash for camera

So, my wife is eligible for an upgrade (Sprint). She doesn't care about the power phones like the Evo (which is what I have) or the Epic, she just wants a "nice" phone that takes good pictures, and has a flash. So that means at least 3mp, preferably 5+. I thought the Transform was perfect, but they want $149 for upgrade, which I can also get an Evo for... so doesn't make sense, and she doesn't want to pay that much anyway (not to mention the extra $10/mo the Evo and Epic require).
I'm kind of left scratching my head here. Why is it so hard to get an intermediate Android phone with a flash... for $50 or less?
I have one option I'm considering, which is getting the Optimus S through upgrade (free today), and just selling it, and using the proceeds to buy a new Samsung Instinct HD off of eBay. I need to be sure that the ESN on the Optimus will still be good though. Price-wise it should work out fine, and the Insinct HD has a 5mp camera with flash. She currently is using the original Instinct, which she's fine with, except for the photo quality and lack of a flash.
Also, what I'd really like to know is, if there is something coming down the pipe for Sprint soon that will fit the bill, or at least cause the price of the Transform to drop. Anyone know? Or anybody know how to get a Transform for free, or no more than 50 bucks?
Aw, come on guys, no response? Help me out here! Please?
So, anyway, I'm in process on this already. I got the Optimus free as an upgrade, and am selling it unopened on eBay and it looks like I'll get north of $200 for it, and the auction ends this afternoon.
Last night the wife brings up another wish for her new phone, in addition to the flash... speech to text. She wants to be able to send a text message while driving - i.e., no typing. Of course Vlingo takes care of this is high fashion, but that's Android only (at least certainly not on... whatever OS that Instinct HD uses). So before I buy that thing, I'm wondering if you guys know of a Sprint Android phone that has a flash.
I am considering the possibility of getting the Transform, which I should be able to get for maybe around 200-ish used, or around $250 new, if I'm patient and lucky. But she doesn't care about the slide out keyboard, and she'll be nervous about my selling her old Instinct to make up the difference in cost. But I can't think of another Android phone, on Sprint, that has a flash! What's up with that anyway!? Do you guys know of one? Please help, quick!

[Q] Rent tablet from Rent-a-Center?

I just read in a few places that you can supposedly rent an Android tablet from Rent-a-Center for $19.99/week. I know that's a total and complete rip-off if you're planning to actually rent it long enough to own, but I have an Android app that works fine in the Galaxy Tab (alleged) emulator, but crashes and burns on a real Galaxy Tab, Xoom, and other actual tablets. If I could literally rent one from them for a week or two (just long enough to figure out WTF is going wrong on the real hardware and fix it), it would be awesome. I know I could buy a cheap tablet for $150 or so on eBay, but with my luck, whatever is making the Tab and Xoom blow up would probably work fine on a $120 tablet running Froyo
The thing is... I know that Rent-a-Center is about as predatory and ghetto as you can get. Will they *really* let someone with normal credit walk in and openly rent an Android tablet for $20/week, knowing fully well that he's going to return it in a week or two? Do I at least have to pretend like I'm poor, or intend to keep it for a long time or risk having the rental refused? Do they have any "gotcha" clauses in the lease agreement that would hit me with extra fees for returning it early or anything like that? Or can you really, truly treat them like the tool rental department at Home Depot and rent an Acer or Toshiba tablet for a week or two with no strings attached?
Sorry for the late reply, but I just came across this thread.
We are soon launching Rent My Tablet which will allow you to rent a tablet of your choice for any number of days.
Rent-A-Center currently only offers the Acer Iconia tablet with a 3 or 4 week minimum rental period while our site will be more competitive in terms of pricing, tablets and rental length period.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Amazon wireless shipping

Does anyone know if amazons wireless requires a signature on phones? Thinking about ordering a s3 since its $50 cheaper and I have a $50 gift card. I just don't want my fancy new phone sitting by the door all day.
Sent from my Kindle Fire
i think it depends, sometimes its required and sometimes it isnt.
if you dont think you'll be there to receive the package, have a relative be there for you, or a neighbor you trust, or redirect the package to a relative/friend's house etc.
beats having a several-hundred dollar device sitting on your door-step all day

After Kill - What do with the Tablet?

Hi,
i want ask what you do after Activating the New Tablet with the old Tablet? Did you sell it or use it for another Projects or install Custom ROMs on it?
What would you to recommend ?
Thanks for your Answers.
You can't sell the old tablet. Illegal to do so in most places and you can't ship it without major hassles. Just recycle it or discharge battery and keep the thing for spare parts. In the US just send it in with the box provided.
Sent back in time via Android 9.0 TimeText feature.
Here in Germany you dont get a Box to send back. You get a Information Paper that you must recycle it. But i think its to worth to recycle. And on german ebay many Shields are sold with the Information that this is a Shield with the Battery. So all fine
The Shiel was released 1 -2 Years ago, i dont know any Case where the Battery is going to fire. I think its a Hoax or Fake. The Exchange must have another Reasons.
I was wondering this myself. I'm in the states and have the bad battery (my tablet has gotten warm maybe three times in the ~year+ I've had it, never to a point I've been worried about it). I know here we are supposed to send them back, but I'd love to install Ubuntu on it and get the new one and keep it on stock rooted (with OTA disabled). Not sure I want to take the chance of doing the RMA since mine actually works very nicely, then I don't know what kind of recourse Nvidia has if I keep both tablets.

Best Cheap Smart Phone To Use With Another Smart Phone?

OK So Im a bit conflicted on what to do here. My dad reworked the Verizon plan and now I have an unlimited data plan on My Alias 2. As much as I want to mess with people by showing off the web enabled featres of my flip phone, I basically need a Smart Phone to get the most out of the data plan.
Now, I have a Razer Phone 2, which I believe WILL run on their network, but I've been using it (And a Nexus 4 before it) in a manner akin to the what the ipod touch devices used to function as. I did not intend to use it with Data, and it works great to that end.
Now, I am tempted to just save the 2-300 bucks on a new smart phone and just stick the sim card into my razer 2, but then I couldn't keep it in my pocket because the cell radiation does something to my nerves. I've already got a permanent numb spot where my dumb phone used to sit in my pocket, so phones always go into a backpack away from my skin now.
So, the Motorola z3 is on sale for another day. I can get the $170 32 GB model with the free controller mod, or the $260 64GB with a free battery pack AND controller mod. My Razer has 64+400GB, and game storage, so I think I can settle on the cheaper option there since the Razer will take up those other functions anyway.
Or is there another phone in that range that would be a good data access phone to consider? I think the Moto mod options suit my interests better, but maybe a One Plus would be better. I also would be interested in the Fairphone 3, but its expensive and not out in the states yet or maybe not ever.
