Just wondering if anybody else browses the Battle.net Starcraft 2 forums on their Captivate and if you have issues. With Eclair it was no problem. Then I switched to the official release of Froyo and the whole battle.net site and forums are basically unusable, it is so freaking slow.
So I decided it was time to switch to a custom ROM and went with Serendipity 5.12 (now on 6.2) and the problem persists. It feels like the CPU jumps to 100% and I can't hardly do anything. No other webpages perform like this and I have reflashed several times.
Anybody else ran into this?

No need to be sorry about lyfao but what exactly are you lyfao about? I have observed a distinct difference between the behavior of the web browser on a particular webpage between 2.1 and 2.2 that is bugging the hell out of me. And I'm trying to figure out if it's something I can fix and if anyone else has observed similar behavior. But thanks for replying to my thread, buddy!

What's wrong with browsing the Starcraft site? It's an awesome game.
Anyway, I don't do it on my Cappy but I'm guessing the speed might be flash related? That'd be the major difference between 2.1 and 2.2.
Have you tried other browsers?

Go into your browser and hit menu, then more, then settings, then enable plugins, then on demand or always off. That should speed things up a bit.

I've never done so myself, though I am quite the sc2 fan, working on getting to masters.
Loaded up the forums on the phone, at first it was snappy. Then the phone got very laggy when scrolling and very choppy.
I found that zooming in, signifigantly helped, however the webpage, by default, loads zoomed out. This made for a very frustrating experience when flipping through pages.
I played around with the settings, I left the phone with 2 non default choices. Default zoom, close. Javascript off. I found this made for a very snappy experience, loading pages was quick, smooth, and scrolled nicely. I hope this fixes your issue.
Yeah I noticed its super slow as hell. I don't know why

Guys thanks for the suggestions, the browser settings tweaks seem to have helped a bit (although it is still flakey). I tried Firefox and it seemed better as well but I don't know... Firefox seems really clunky to me I can't really stand using it. Maybe I'll try another browser but with the tweaks it's more usable.
I remember hearing something about using one with the fascinate. Can I use any remote? I'd like a lot if buttons for my emulators.

Someone has written a driver for it. Last time I checked, it wasn't free. But, I've heard it works. Never tried it myself. You can find it in the Market by searching wii remote.
did anybody try this on there fascinated froyo?

I intend to try with cm6. Just need to find a friend with a willing wiimote
OTB'd CM6 FTW
It works with AOSP based ROMs, there was another thread in this very forum about it... You need the app from the market by the way, you can't pair with it through settings.
Now that the 2.2 OTA update is out... Which BT gamepads/Wiimote will work?
Will we still have to root/load a custom ROM to get it to work?
I'd be psyched to go buy a Wiimote if it will work w/Fascinate now that 2.2 has finally been released (officially).
You still need to use an aosp rom, the ota froyo update still has the Touchwiz bluetooth stack which still doesn't work.
I really wish that you could just import the bluetooth from a aosp rom lol not that simple but still.
Honestly, you should try one out. The only things broken in froyo aosp roms are bluetooth calling, camcorder, and mms. Everything else works pretty well and aosp roms are so much faster than Touchwiz roms, just try out MIUI or Cyanogenmod 6.2, they're both amazing.

I tried it and loved it for a month, but eventually not being able to send/receive mms and the flash not working most of the time lead me right back into the community rom when that came out.
Will have to try this now that I'm on omfgb

Wiimote not supported man!! Anyone got it working with infuse?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
the problem is with the bluetooth stack, im not sur ehow but i know it can be downgraded to bt 2.1, that was an experimental feature in designgears cognition rom a long time ago, he went back and forth with it a couple times but said there were problems. that's not to say gtg or razor or h8trift or mikey couldnt figure it out but i dont see anyone showing interest in that on a samsung base rom. you might have to wait for the infuse to get an aosp rom, donate to a kernel dev like netarchy of razor who may have the ability to make an aosp compatable kernel for cm7.
I see OK is there anything than wiimote work with infuse?

I saw in another topic where someone said they could trick Netflix into installing on the mesmerize. Which rom would I need to install to do this.
Thanks
Nick

With roms like pick n pack and heinz 57 I've gotten netflix to open but not play anything... seems like the newest version won't even open....
However, with MIUI it opens and plays without any trickery involved... you can even get off the android market if you are running MIUI.

Pretty sure it works in the cyanogen mod mtd as well
The definitive answer? You basically need a gingerbread based rom to run it. It won't run on froyo based ones.

I was able to watch Netflix and Stream Media via DFGAS's latest Miui Rom. I am currently watching Iron Man 2.
Also working on CM7, as someone else said.
You can't download the app from the market, though. You need to download the apk...don't remember where I found it, but search around on here. The apk files have been posted in a few locations.
Annoying pop-up saying there's a new version, but it doesn't pop-up while playing, only while browsing.
Quality is excellent via WIFI.
Working on CM7 with one of the modded version from the netflix thread on the general android apps section. No annoying popups, just streaming goodness.

rofl...mumi? Didn't read much, did you? It's miui. they're both stable, miui is more actively updated, thanks to andmer and dfgas, unfortunately jt1134 is working more or less alone on getting cm7 for mes/sc. lmartin92 has started getting some showcase stuff done, so we'll see in the future.
Netflix works fine for me on MIUI. Downloaded from market.

I'm running Heinz 57 v1.2 and have no problems with netflix. No popups, and it streams like a dream. I didn't realize there were problems with netflix on the mes, as I am almost certain I downloaded and ran netflix from the market when I first got the mes about 2-3 weeks ago when it was stock.

Old thread is old
Ok I'm going to try to provide as much information as possible in order to help me troubleshoot this issue. My computer is running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I've got a tmobile htc G2. I bought it used off of a friend and it was previously rooted and IIRC it had 2.3.7 gingerbread on it? not 100% sure. Since then I've updated the Clockwork to 5.0 from 3.0 and I updated the rom to an ICS 4.0.3. I tried virtuous at first and I believe now I'm using virtuous quattro RC3. I don't know If I'm still in an early version or what but I hate it. My apps (mocospace) crash constantly, even from switching from portrait to landscape, even the browser version of mocospace. I even tried downloading opera and dolphin and the same thing happens. Also with youtube, when I watch videos, they are not videos, they are more of a slideshow, I've downloaded adobe air and adobe flash but the videos are still in frames. I'm looking for one of two things, A Stable ICS that will work on my G2, or to go back to a previous version of android that will work fine like it used to. this version on this phone is driving me nuts, I constantly have to power off/on my phone to reset a Blank homescreen issue, or the icons will be blurred. thanks in Advance! - Andy

Good God, Seriously?
If it sucks so bad flash something else. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=758 and look for something that suits your fancy. *****ing in a general discussion section without using the search options will not get you any help. I stumbled upon this post on accident and thought "Eh, why the hell not". Qualcomm chipsets like those in the Vision and Glacier and most HTC phones don't have stable ICS yet due to driver issues. READ READ READ READ then READ some more then flash. Otherwise you'll be this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwleOote5M0&list=FLiSUReotYhEITuOWRb6Hb8w&index=11&feature=plpp_video
I was actually reading up on some different roms while I was at work tonight and figured I would try out both the Andromedus, and the CyanogenMods. I Do appreciate your help though, and [email protected] the video. When I bought this phone off of a friend it was already rooted and had 2.3.7 on it I believe, I just wanted to try out android 4.0. I'm guessing though like you say its still too early to find something awesome. I don't even mind this one so much except that it seems like itcant handle any graphical apps or procedures. once again thank you
Yea, the GPU on HTC phones doesn't have native ICS drivers yet. Good luck chief
