[APP] [HACK] Wii remote for emulators on Nexus (SimpleWiiRemote) - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Initially i downloaded Wiimote off the market and found that i could not connect my controller without the hassle of a passkey or pin. Well they offer 0000 or 1234 as options for the standard pass and those did not work. After a few minutes i downloaded a second one to see if it had an option to bypass it and sure enough it did. It's called "SimpleWiiController" and it's FREEEEEE! So i installed that and turned on my bluetooth. When you open the application it gives and option to enable it, select input, and connect. Well ENABLE, Select input to remote, and as you ENABLE connect hold 1&2 on remote or red button in battery door. Once connected you will see success or you will see test input received signals for each button you press. Needless to say i was excited because the virtual keyboard annoys me. So i started snesoid and started playing mario.
For best results:
-ENABLE "USE INPUT METHOD" in snesoid. Close to bottom of screen.
-disable virtual keyboard (enabling fullscreen)
-map keys (key mapping)
-turn remote in desired direction
My Setup:
- Up = up
- Down = down
- left = left
- right = right
- select = minus
- Start = plus
- A = 2
- X (essentially B button on snes) = 1 (speedrun setup just like controller)
- B (spin) = A
If i had a camera i'd post a youtube video or something. but i do not . If any help is needed using these two pairings i'd be glad to help. But as far as NES and PSX i have no idea.

im waiting until we can pair out PS3 controllers to our Nexus Ones via bluetooth

Yea i'd try my roommates but if i messed anything up in it i'd be out $50.

MAMECE3

I have copied the folder I had MAMECE3 (mamece3 dot mameworld dot info) installed on - onto the sd card in my HD2. The program runs fine, but the problem is the buttons. I see that morphgear has an onscreen d-pad - is it possible to add one to this? This is the one thing I really miss from my old Axim x51v - a d-pad!
They have the source code available. This would open our devices up to yet another whole world of 1,000s of games. I would love to see moonpatrol, pacman, tapper and asteroids running yet again. And with freeware ;-)
note: anyone else have a favorite game they used to run on MAME?
You just named all my favs..... I'd love to see the MAME come to the HD2.
Try with LMT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629263): among the other features it sports a good trasparent multi-touch onscreen controller, that can be used either on portrait and landscape mode.
It should overcome your problem (and be much more playable...).
By the way SEGA and Capcom games were the best!
OK tried it - nothing.
More detail - I installed it as per the instructions (on the device). If i run it, it just takes me back to the home screen. No findger swipes do anything other than the regular sense ones. I checked the task manager I don't see it running. I wonder what it takes to call it up other than just clicking on the shortcut.
So, I ran MAME. after a short time the game chooser menu comes up. It is at this point that I can set the buttons for different things, but nothing as far as LMT is concerned. So I go back and run it thinking maybe it is not running in the background (esp. since it never shows up in the task manager). Ahhh (wait for it ......) still nothing.
Kind of disappointing. I can start a rom, enter coins, but that is it - without my beloved d-pad i miss soo much.
Any other ideas?
Quick report back. Went over the thread again. Saw what I was doing wrong with LMT. It is a double swipe thing. I see the double swipe etc. on the Home screen. If you drawing a box with your finger the console comes up. I have had that up while trying to configure the buttons. I was even able to configure all of the buttons to taps on the LMT console (up = up, A for exit game, etc.) - no success.
When the game starts it is still lokking for the hardware keys and not the software ones - even though they are set in the button configure menu of MAMECE.
Please let us know if anyone else was able to get it working.
I succesfully mapped buttons 1 and 2 on LMT Controller, but not the others. Directional keys work perfectly.
My problem is that with the LMT Controller in portrait mode the only visible section of the screen during game is under the controller, while on landscape mode all is visible but it's really unconfortable!
And unluckily MAMECE3 doesn't support screen in landscape mode!
I've to figure out something else...
OK If you are interested in this. The LMT controller works great (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629263&page=67) go there get it - DONATE!. note: this is the latest page - it is on page 1. Use it in landscape mode. You just have to have it off when going to button settings - then do the square to open it - set the buttons. Hit the x to close it and save your settings.
Start the ROM you want - restart the controller.

YES it does. Click on options > Rotate Right and it will work just fine. It took me a while to figure this one out. Also, if you delete all of your config files in the cfg directory it will use your default settings for everything. One thing I did was, change the one player button to the back arrow (hard key) less problems that way.
Remeber that left arrow then right arrow is "OK"

[Guide] Full Analog Support with Sixaxis PS3 Controller in N64oid

First tutorial ever... so bear with me...
I am writing how I got true analog on n64oid with a sixaxis ps3 controller, while also using the c-buttons. This configuration works perfectly for Mario and Zelda, but not Goldeneye.
I originally had a problem where when I wanted to use true analog in N64oid, I couldn't use the D-pad. This is how I fixed it.
Firstly, I'd like to say that Sixaxis Pair Tool did not work at all on my Windows 8 x64 computer. Therefore, I installed Motioninjoy and followed this well written tutorial:
http : // www . motioninjoy . com / wiki / en / install / latest
Until I got to the "Getting it working - Bluetooth mode" step. Instead, I entered a "Custom MAC," my phone's "Local Bluetooth Address." I had to enter the MAC in reverse. For example, my phone said something like "00:15:83:4f:6c:b0," and I entered "b0.6c.83.4f.6c.b0"
Take note that I replaced the colons with periods. Then I pressed "Pair now." I then unplugged my phone from my computer and followed the instructions from inside the Sixaxis Controller apk on my phone.
To get Sixaxis Controller 0.5.4 to work with Pure Analog, I went into Sixaxis Controller's Preferences, Gamepad Settings. I checked "Enable Gamepad." Then I went into Edit Mappings. I realized that I had to change the D-pad buttons to values other than what the analog was set to, becuase in n64oid, the left analog registers as the D-pad. Also, I realized that an N64 doesn't use buttons like L3, R3, L2, R2, Square, Circle, and Select.
Therefore, I changed:
Up: L2
Right: R2
Down: Y
Left: X
I left everything else as default.
I wanted the C-buttons to function as the D-pad on my ps3 controller. Therefore, in N64oid, I think I pressed R3 for all four d-pad buttons and I mapped controller 1 as:
D-pad Left: Unknown 106 <--Again, the D-pad buttons can be any button on the controller you won't use; I used R3 for all the buttons.
D-pad Right: Unknown 106
D-pad Up: Unknown 106
D-pad Down: Unknown 106
C-left: Button X
C-Right: Button R2
C-Up: Button L2
C-Down: Button Y
Start: Button Start
Button A: Button B
Button B: Button A
L trigger: Unknown 106 <--Who uses the L trigger. I've always used the z-trigger; Therefore, I pressed R3 for the L trigger as well.
R trigger: Button R1
Z trigger: Button L1
Analog Left: DPAD left
Analog Right: DPAD Right
Analog Up: DPAD Up
Analog Down: DPAD Down
As a result, I have full analog support on N64oid. I can finally walk as Mario and controlling Link is PERFECT!
Also, my appologies if this post is in the wrong section.
I play n64 on my phone a fair bit so an optimum solution would be nice. I will give what you have said a try.
Currently my set up is to have the analogues using the touch emulation for both the n64 analogue and c-buttons.

I can't stand the touchscreen's simulated controller. I purchased an iControlPad, but its analog nubs are worse than the PSP's analog nubs.
I might consider purchasing the Fling Mini though! It provides feedback to the touchscreen.
I can tell you that using the ps3 controller with full analog support with the phone feels PERFECT.
Also, there are two ways that I found where you can attach your phone to your ps3 controller similar to the way the icontrolpad attaches to your phone. One way was as simple as using a PS3 controller keyboard and mounting the phone to the keyboard with sticky tack. The other way was posted here on xda-developers where a guy made a 3d model in solidworks and a 3d printing website prints the holder for 30 bucks. The guy who made the 3d model doesn't get paid for the purchases.
What is wrong with mapping the analogue to the touchscreen? (I do make the on screen buttons invisible when playing)
Currently I have DIY-ed a phone mount onto my contoller using some cardboard! I am considering using a rubber phone case and a couple of thin long hinges in my newer 'prototype' for a more refined look
You can also use the right analog stick as the C buttons by mapping the 'Right Analog x-axis' and 'Right Analog y-axis' to 'Disabled' in the Sixaxis Controller app. They will now fall back to keyboard emulation, so you can set the IME to Sixaxis Controller and map them as keys in the emulator.

anyone????????????
c button mapping to right analog stick... done deal.
hey. this is my first post on this forum. i had to help people out with this problem, as i too, had problems figuring this out.
here's how to set the c buttons to your right analog stick for use in n64oid.
this is what i found after a whole crapload of searching... this dude is awesome. and saved me from going nuts trying to figure it out myself.
this if from a guy named zachary. he wrote this on nov 1st of this year. thanks zach.
heres the site its from. hope this complies with your rules, xda dudes.
------scrach that... cant post links yet. oh well. at least i can still get the message across.
"After a ton of tinkering
I finally got everything to work perfectly in N64oid. I even got the C buttons to link up to the right analog stick up down left right which was a massive relief.
You need to go into Gamepad Setting> Edit Mappings> Disable Right Analog X and Y's. ------(x and y axis is what he means)
Then go to Keyboard Emulation> Key Mappings> 1st> Edit> Analog 2 L R U D, put in something like U I O P. ------(L-left, R-right etc... U I O P-letters on the keyboard)
Plug in a keyboard via USB OTG. ------(or connect a bluetooth keyboard... im assuming that would work too. if not please correct me)
Head over to N64oid> Settings> Input > Key Mappings> "> and in C- L R U D, put in your U I O P. Voila! Enjoy!" ------(by "put in" he means press the u, i, o, and p buttons on the keyboard into the corresponding c-left, c-right, c-up, c-down key maps)
one thing he didnt mention is you have to have the "Use input method" box checked in n64oid for it to recognize the right analog stick as the "U I O P" (or c-l, c-r, c-u, c-d) buttons. the "use input method" option is in the "other settings" menu of n64oid.
i hope this helps anyone who has been frustrated with this issue. im off now... gotta play some zelda on my s3. (;

my xperia s haven't enought energy to use some gamepad :|
Where do you download N64oid? I cannot find it in the play store

I cannot for the life of me get 2 ps3 controllers set up with N64oid. I have 1 working great but I cant get my N64oid to recognize the second controller even though it shows #2 on the controller itself. It just acts like a #1 controller. I am using Sixaxis. I REALLY want to play mario kart against someone. Please help.

Right analog stick for C-buttons via USB OTG
Hello!
I am currently trying to figure out how to configure the right analog stick from a PS3 controller to use as the c buttons. I am connecting it via USB OTG. I had everything else working except for the right analog stick. I read the forums that it works if you use the Sixaxis Controller app but I DO NOT want to root my device (Galaxy Note 2). I am assuming there is a way to do this effectively without having to root the device and to use the controller with the OTG cable. I would gladly appreciate any help!

sixaxis will not work without root, how did you get this far?

Use ps3 controller without root on tablet and no dock or cords

I would like to say that I take no credit for any of this except typing out these directions.
These are instructions to use a controller with at least the two emulators I have tested this on which are supergnes and mupen64 plus ae.
Hardware you will need :
Computer with usb connection
Blue tooth controller ( I'm using ps3 controller)
Android phone ( rooted) I'm using a inspire 4G with ics rom.
Android tablet ( does not have to be rooted) I'm using a asus infinity stock with jb.
I recommend buying the programs if for nothing else but to show support
Software you will need :
An2an by locnet ( I have paid version not sure if it makes a difference)
Sixaxis by dancing pixel studios ( have paid version not sure if it makes a difference)
Sixaxis by dancing pixel studios for pc ( link is inside of the app description in the market)
Emulator that accepts keyboard input.
1) download An2an and Sixaxis from market and install on phone
2) download An2an and install on tablet
3) download Sixaxis to computer from Internet and install.
4) turn on wifi and blue tooth on tablet and phone.
A) access Sixaxis on phone
* step one : tap "gamepad settings"
> tap "enable gamepad " (uncheck box)
> tap " keyboard emulation"
> tap " default input method " and set to android keyboard ( or keyboard of your choice)
> tap " bypass IME ", ( uncheck box)
* step three : start Sixaxis
B) access An2an on phone
* step one : tap menu and access settings
> tap " connection mode ", tap wifi
> tap " text input mode ", ( uncheck box)
C) access An2an on tablet
* step one : tap # 4 optional settings
> tap " connection mode ", tap wifi
> tap " remote address 1 " enter wifi address of phone ( setting -- > about phone - - > status., on phone)
> tap #2 and select An2an receiver
D) have An2an accessed on tablet and phone.
* step one : tap menu on phone and "start transmit"
* step two : tap menu on tablet and tap" setup receiver"
* step three : on tablet tap #3 and tap " connect "
* step four: on phone tap menu and tap "input method" select Sixaxis
Note : phone must be on An2an main screen while playing not sure how it will effect battery life (probably will drain quite a bit) . I recommend setting phone screen to stay on while charging and plug it in.
Now just start game and play
This is my first intrusion manual so be nice if you have any questions feel free to ask but I can't promise I will have any answers.
Last
To set up Sixaxis
* step one : download Sixaxis controller bt changer from Internet and install. The link is in the app description on the market.
* step two : connect controller to pc and start Sixaxis program. Change code to your phones bt code. The bt code is found in settings - - > about phone - - > status remember bt must be on
Unplug and it's set.
Thank you for reading.

App to grab/rebind/forward keyboard & mouse inputs?

Im curently using a half size bluetooth keyboard paired to my phone (nexus 4) which is running RemoteDroid. That is used to forward keystrokes to my PC. Why? because I have a broken collarbone and cant use my fullsize wired keyboard properly So im using my phone as an intermediate device (BluetoothK/B->Phone->WiFi->PC) to be able to use the bluetooth keyboard. Putting the phone in close proximity to the K/B means It has a much better range and signal quality via WiFi. The phone itself also has a better bluetoooth receiver than any laptop or desktop USB bluetooth receivers ive tried, giving much more reliable keystrokes at higher typing speed than gong straight to PC
The problem is some of the keys dont work correctly and I believe its because Android is interpreting them differently. i.e. 'Tab/Delete/Insert/Home/End/num +/ num -.. etc' dont get forwarded to the PC,And some keystrokes are simply incorrect` i.e. the right shift key acts more like CTRL for some things. Shift+2 becomes " instead of @ (need to press alt 2 instead) and so on
In addition I have a touchpad on the little keyboard and that only works in a limitted fashion
Is there an app out there that can 'grab' the Android inputs of a device and remap them? so i.e. mouse click could be emulated as pressing the Enter key if I so wished
Additionally` is there a progam that can forward these 'raw inputs' to a PC via USB/WiFi/Bluetooth? remotedroid does indeed forward some inputs of key presses as best it can (arrow keys for instance) but it seems to do it 'after' the android OS (i.e. alt+tab makes the android program switch applications, rather than forwarding the 'alt' and 'tab' keys to the PC)
It does not however forward mouse inputs (havnt tried gamepad) so its not possible to use a mouse or trackpad as intended. I have to emulate a screen press (hold left click on trackpad and move the cursor across the remotedroid screen)
Hope the above makes sense, and yes im aware I could simply bluetooth directly to the PC but wheres the fun in that?

How-To: Fix unrecognized controller input in Half Life 2 (inability to select weapons

Hey everybody,
i hope this is the right forum to post this. I was dying to play Half Life 2 on my Shield Tablet, but i was not able to change my weapons in game, and also the i couldn't use the Playstation controller in the Options or Controller menu. I know that this is a problem for everybody, who tries to play it with a PS4 (and i think also PS3) controller.
But i've finally found a workaround and after enjoying Half Life 2 for a few days now, i wanted to share it^^.
First off i don't remember all options i enabled/disabled, but i'll list those that i think i did something too. If i find out how, i might just share my app's profile. These are a few steps right here, but only because i went into detail a little, in order to make it as easy as possible to follow.
1. Get Gamekeyboard+
2. Go to "Settings" in the app
3. Look for "Input Device" subcategory -> "Use Advance Input" - check that
4. Below is the "Operation Mode" subcategory -> "Joystick Mode" - check that too
5. Go into "Internal Options" at the bottom of the settings screen
6. "Find 8-way D-Pad" - check that
7. Find "Use Analog" - check that
7. Go back into the apps initial screen - press "Start"
8. Start Sixaxis Controller to connect your PS3 or PS4 gamepad (doesn't matter if you do this before you start GameKeyboard, or after)
And now, better press the volume-up key on your device, which by default should bring up GameKeyboard's onscreen buttons, which emulate physical input. Do they appear? If yes, good. You can turn them off, by pressing volume-up again.
Now open Half Life 2 and enjoy full support of your controller!
So as i take it, Half Life 2 does a better job at recognizing this gamepad, which is actually just a soft emulation, but since you can use GameKeyboard's buttons with a physical controller as well, even if they are not on screen, GameKeyboard in this case serves as the missing link to make this 100% compatible with Playstation controllers.
I hope this will help a lot of people out, who were just as bummed by the fact, that they could not change weapons in the game, let alone access the Options/Controller menu (or not be able to navigate in them, to be precise).
Thank bro I am about to take a long road trip this weekend and I hope this works so I can play and beat half life to on the way!:laugh:
