So I know there are a bunch of Nexus Live Wallpapers out there and i have tried a few, bu i absolutely love the one in CM6. So here's the question(s):
A) Has anyone pulled the Nexus Live Wallpaper from the CM6 build at all yet, and if so can you either send it to me or post a link.
Or
B) Can someone instruct me on how to pull it out of CM6 myself so i don't have to bother anyone for it
just use cm6. it is basically complete, minus camcorder. its great.

While i agree that it is great, it is vastly slower than skyraider, specifically noted when opening the launcher for your programs. So until it's speed can match skyraider, i want to continue with it.
Hence why i want to pull the wallpaper from it. I would love to come back to CM6 but it's just so noticeably slower than skyraider.
Go to the market and buy
Nexus Revamped Pro
Its only $1 I believe and is very customizable. You can change background to custom image or solid color, they have several variants of the nexus pyramid background, you can customize the color of the dots, up too 4 colors including blacks, whites, and grays. You can also change physics and other things too, such as speed, tail length, etc. They have a free version of it too so you can try before you buy, its just missing a few features. Its just good to support the dev and its only $1.
I dont know what the CM6 one looks like, but if you wanted you could get the app I mentioned above and do a custom background. Pull the livewallpapers.apk from CM6, then rename it to zip, extract it, then go to the res folder and find the background image and use it as a custom image with the app I mentioned.
Skyraider has the Nexus live wallpaper. Only difference is its not just blue, its multiple colors.

I found a smoked glass theme over at www.droidforums.net by 928droid that works great with our evo's. I just repackaged it excluding the phone and contacts apk's(wallpaper issues) as well as the camera apk and the framework res apk as i'm not savvy enough to port it. However; it looks pretty slick and again none of this work is mine, it's 928droid's. Just download and flash.

This theme doesn't seem work on the latest (5th) CM6 build.
I downloaded and flashed and no go... :-/
EDIT: So it seems that the theme works...partially at least. The notification/status bar doesn't turn black but I notice the "smoke" darkening effect on other views such as the Market, etc. Would be better great if I could get the status bar to turn dark as well... ;-)
If you go to settings and then cyanogenmod settings you can change your status bar color in there to whatever color you want.

flashed just fine i don't personally don't like the droid moniker
Hmm, I flashed but nothing seems to have changed. I'll give it another, go. I really like the look of the screenshots, thanks to the OP for bringing it to our attention.

Open Market and/or open menu in Gmail and see if you notice any differences (color) by flashing this theme.

Is there a way to have this ported to the Hero? These are the best icons I have seen in Android so far (imho)
Mayb with some resizing the icons can b used in one of the roms 4 the hero
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Well afaik the icons are changed by changing the apk and resigning. I don't know how to change the icons in the apk or resign, so I don't know how to do this... if someone were to do this, they could just make it a flashable zip to change the icons on almost any ROM (with the apps)
could ask him. Konib used to dev for the Hero
It would look better and take way less time if you either asked konib to do it or asked to have his originals so you could port it. Resizing indexed .pngs from higher resolution to lower resolution makes them look like crap. (not all but a lot of them)

How can you say its not even close to being true when Im sitting here staring at a GPS icon I took from the Droid X resized it to 25x25 and there are a few pixels that are out of place? Unless I'm doing it wrong... even then its still close to being right. And how can porting a theme from a higher res theme not be time consuming?

You're right. Theres no argument about the the depreciation of images when resizing. They get compressed. Its not a matter of opinion, or conjecture, its fact. If you are able to refute this, let me know.
Well to correct everyone, resizing will remove some of the clarity of the image. Scaling the image down will preserve the clarity to do this we start with a 38x38 image create a new blank 25x25 and paste the image in, then use transform to shrink the image down. This actually scales the full image to size. That is for photoshop . Fireworks also can accomplish this very well . This is just my experience after 7 years of PhotoShop

I have most of the icons resized. I can't finish until later today. I just have a couple to finish and put them into the apk's and make a flashable zip or I can create a metamorph file.

Metamorph please I have better luck with them not messing with any of my other mods.
I did what I could for now. I will make both a flashable zip and a metamorph theme. I haven't made a metamorph theme since they changed the program, but I should have something up either tonight or in the morning. And I am putting the icons in both the HTC apps(HTC dialer, mail, messaging) as well as the AOSP apps, because I am not sure who uses what.

It seems tha the Epic is missing a few live wallpapers like blue sea, aroua, magic smoke, and nexus.
I was able to install blue sea and auroua through the market but don't know how to get the nexus one or magic smoke live papers. Any help?
the nexus one is on the amrket i think its called nexus revamped?
That one is different than the stock "nexus" live wallpaper that comes pre installed on most new androids like the Vibrant and Fascinate

The Nexus Revamped that is on the market is the easiest solution. And yes it can be exactly like the original nexus with the right settings. Reg nexus background and nexus original colors and transparencies are all options. So yeah it can be customized too but it can also emulate the original nicely.
I don't think I've seen too many people port the original from the nexus anywhere, probably because revamped. Tailors to most ppls wants. Although I remember another that's not any longer supported called "nexus mod" that is another nexus clone.
Also you had it spelled right aurora. Although why want it? Its pretty boring lol
Nexus revamped is even better than the original wallpaper that came on the nexus.

If anyone has Blue Sea and Aurora that can go in /system/apps folder please post a link.Market and kanged versions can only be installed regularly, but i had a version(deleted it accidentally,i think) that can be put in /system/app folder without fc's.
Do anyone know why some apk versions will fc if you install them regular but wont fc in /system/app folder and other way around?
I'm currently on Phoenix 4.5 and thinking about flashing to Supernova.
Anyone care to comment on their comparison between Phoenix 4.5 and Supernova?
I have used Phoenix 4.5, Firefly 2.1, and now SuperNova 2.02 and I can honestly say (for myself at least) that SuperNova 2.02 seems to be my choice out of all three. For me the boot time is much quicker than the other two although all three ROMs are awesome. The smoothness and snappiness of the two ROMs are still much there in SuperNova but it depends on your preference. Personally my strong points for SuperNova are the color scheme, fast boot time, and battery life (which I get slightly better than Phoenix 4.5 and Firefly 2.1)
Any comparison on gps between Phoenix and SuperNova? Especially while driving?
Actually I have not been able to test the GPS while driving yet mainly because I haven't had a chance to. The GPS itself locks in about 9 satellites within about 10-15 seconds which is nice but I don't know if it constantly locks while driving. When I do try it I will let you guys know. So far this ROM kicks major ass.
Running Firefly myself and thinking of trying Phoenix or Supernova.. leaning towards Supernova for the JS3 experience. Any other observations are appreciated.
I ran 4.5 for a while and flashed to SN last night. Haven't had much time to test out the gps but LBS mode gives me locks in about 10-15, relatively the same as phoenix for me.
I personally love the theme coloring as well.

I run phx 4.5, I flashed to SN and I liked alot of the enhancements made, but the purple and icons just weren't my cup of tea. I liked the wp7 keyboard and look of the menu background. But just a personal preferences I like the green on black. So I flashed back. But later I might flash back. Adam and company put work into their ROM's! They do good!

Like the title says, what are the changes that you most favor in ICS?
For me, these are my favorite improvements (in no particular order):
1. Ability to swipe down notification bar while screen locked
2. Improved camera speed and quality
3. Vastly improved gallery
4. ICS Keyboard
5. Voice - to - text
6. Browser
7. General appearance/asthetics
8. Email, Gmail, and calender
Just curious to see what everyone else likes (or dislikes for that matter) about ICS.

You said it all ;-)
I like specially the calendar (pinch to zoom and unzoom !) and the browser, almost as fast as my computer !
I can't really tell something that I dislike.
I love how "done" it feels. Everything matches the new UI theme perfectly. Also, it's stupidly fast. The one thing I was always jealous of WP7 and iOS users was that their OS's were just a bit smoother and faster. Now I can finally say that ours is perfectly how I want it.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Everything is integrated perfectly. Everything is in harmony. Everything just feels 'right'.
I think its a major game changer for Google. ICS wipes ios5 all over the floor and then some.
My next tablet will definitely be the Samsung 10.1 successor (currently using an iPad) running a flavour of Android 4.
I'm smitten
No launcher crashes any more, no lag when exiting applications or generally swiping back and forward, and faster stock browser are the main ones for me.

I would ask in the ROM thread. I have seen that issue reported many times on many ROMs but I have no idea what the solution is.
HATE some of the icons... Overall it is very done and feels complete, except the icons look a bit unprofessional imo.
Such as the contacts and messaging icon. I use ICS with custom icons to replace the ones i dont feel fit properly. For example, the messaging icon is an awkward green and WAY too tall.
But over all it deserves a 9/10
Polished is a very good way to put the feel of using ICS. It certainly does feel "complete" and relaxed. Definitely the largest reason to love it.. right behind notifications + power options in notifications bar to do with as i please while it's locked
Keyboard is a solid step forward (and predictive text works better than GB from my use).
The browser is a HUGE step forward, but it's definitely not there yet.
Gallery works much better, far fewer issues than before. HOWEVER, i hate having to click the photo twice to get into the gallery after taking a photo.
Also, IntelSoftApps has really hit the nail on the head.. the contacts, messaging, calendar and gallery just look like they don't belong there. What would be the least intrusive way to change these (editing the apk?)?
What I love about ICS:
-the overall design and how polished it is
-how smooth it is
- all the new gapps
Shouldn't the caller id, when receiving a call, have a transparent background? When someone calls there is a big black box covering lower half of the screen with the little white headphone... Is it a Nexus S bug, or an ICS feature? I think it would be better transparent...
I like lots of features of ICS. I love the new font, the market icon in the app tray, the ability to create app folders, and the ability to swipe away single notifications. Honestly my only real complaint is with the app drawer...I hate having to scroll sideways. Logically when you have a list of something, you expect it to be vertical, not horizontal. But hey, that's how iOS does it so that's how Android should do it too, right? *rolls eyes*

they are really dropping the ball. I understand the holidays really put things behind schedule, but maybe they should have thought about that before they made plans to push a new update just before the holidays.
