OK, My XDA work fine except one thing, its very slow and it will be hung when I am playing game, I mean when I am playing game I receive a call from Somebody and after I receive that phone call, instead it return to my game to continue playing , it is hung. Whats problem?
Anyone got any idea about this problem.
What other programs/applications do you have running? Have you tried to delete o2's interface? Maybe you can turn off 'photo contacts'. Installing programs in to your 'storage' memory instead of normal memory to free memory which has a big impact on speed.
More information is needed to help you more. You do have 'turbo' mode enabled i take it?
Many Thanks John for ur replying, I have enabled "Turbo Mode". And My PDA have some program such as Spb Plus, that program worked fine, and some game like KarmaSutris 8) , and when Im running that game, my PDA will be hung if Somebody make a phone call to my XDA phone u know, and some games will be hung but It notify a message about error in graphic :?: after waiting 2 minute and returning to TOday interface. And finally some games wasnt hung at all after I receive a phone call while playing game.
My PDA specificationFrom Device Information on my XDA)
WM2003SE
ROM version 1.10.00 WWE
ROM date 12/24/04
Radio verion 1.00.00
ExtROM version 1.10.124 WWE
DO I have to update ROM to solve that stupid problem from my XDA? ANy suggestion ? Which Rom do I need to use?
Many thnks
Oh I forgot to tell u that I didnt remove O2 interface and the application work fine but the game , it didnt u know.
I would certainly recommend updating such an old rom, it should be on O2's website.
I would also recommend installing 'Microsoft .NET CF 2.0' which should help. I used to get various errors on certain programs until i installed this. A good hard reset once in a while never hurts anyway, but if you're going to do that you might as well upgrade.
I tried putting 'KarmaSutris' in to google but nothing was found so couldn't find out much about it. Maybe it's just an old game that wasn't designed for windows to pause it while you get a call? PDA's with mobiles are quite new and the operating system would be completely different to older versions.
If you're really in to games then check out emmulators. I'm playing SNES games, gamegear games, gameboy games and also check out SCUMMVM for old PC adventure games, should make you forget about your other games, and all completely free too!
I would definitely recommend removing O2's interface, it's probably the most unstable program you can have on your system, i doubt you need it and it will speed up your XDA.
Thanks John, I will remove 02 user interface and install .Net Framework as U said. If if wont work out(I think maybe that stupid game's problem, I dont know why but as u said the compatible problems :wink, Im gonna update my old ROM. :wink and I think I will remove all the games which have that stupid problem. If u like emulator game so u can visit this Chinese website http://chinagba.com/down/index.html
It has alot of roms for you, Cheer. . I always download ROMS from that site.

FAQ
Q: What is all this about hacking the PS3?
A: A few weeks ago, someone released a USB tool that allows you to switch any PS3 into "dev" or "debug" mode. The long and short of this means that the PS3 has finally been hacked and homebrew is a real possibility. After a lot of clever reverse engineering, the hack was documented and distributed under the name "PS3Groove". Some clever people ported that code so that other USB devices could be used for this purpose. It just so happens that your smartphone is also a USB device and this was a project to port THAT code so that your Android smartphone could be used to hack your PS3.
Q: Cool! Where do I start?
A: Slow down there, cowboy. This is pretty technical stuff, if you've come here from another forum, or are unfamilliar with terms like "recovery", "flashing", "rooting" and such, take a deep breath and look around the forums for more information, as any mistakes could brick your phone.
First, you'll need to know if your device is compatible. There is a list of android devices maintained here: http://psfreedom.com/wiki/index.php?...atibility_list
This will tell you if your device is supported, as well as point you to where to go if it is.
Q: Ok, so I have a supported device, now what?
A: Just owning the device isn't enough. You'll need to root it to enable you to install custom ROMs. Once you're confident about installing custom ROMs, you're ready to rock and roll! Now, this IS the Desire dev forum, so from here on I'll assume you have a HTC desire, rooted and ready to go. If you have a different device, refer to the link above, or look on your device's own forum.
Q: What ROMs are compatible with this?
A: If you thought that you might need a specific ROM - you'd be right! The whole hack revolves around the kernel that's loaded into the ROM. Essentially, this means that not all ROMs will be able to do this. Right now, if you're looking for an easy solution, install OpenDesire. CyanogenMOD may well work, too, as well as ROMs based off either of those, but no guarantees or promises are made.
Q: What about Sense ROMs?
A: Unfortunately, this isn't feasible. HTC Have yet to release the source code for Sense 2.2, which means we can't port this into it. So if you have a ROM that you like running sense, you'll have to make a choice - Sense, or PS3 hacking? There's no middle ground with this. Alternatively, you can just nandroid between the two ROMs, however you'll soon see how tedious this can get =P
Q: Ok I've got Open Desire installed, now what?
A: Opendesire by itself is just a damn good ROM, not a lean, mean, PS3-hacking machine, so you'll need to add something else. The details are kept here, but essentially there are two update zip files. One will "enable" the PS3 hack and one will "disable" it. You flash those files directly over the ROM itself, using your favourite recovery.
Q: BDMV or Homebrew?
A: In order to keep PSgroove away from Sony's legal team, they released it without the ability to play backup PS3 games, only PS3 homebrew (to which there is currently very little, but stay tuned!), they did this by disabling BDMV. So there are TWO "enable" files. One is "Homebrew", which is a direct port of the PSGroove code and will not play backup games and the other is "BDMV", which will play both PS3 homebrew AND backups.
Q: Did you say BACKUPS?!
A: Yer darn tootin' I did! Legal backups, of course. One of the few pieces of homebrew available is the Backup Manager. This is a simple application that will let you backup a GAME THAT YOU OWN onto an internal or external USB hard drive, then play it without the disk. You'll still need a disk in the drive, but any PS3 game will work.
Q: Where do I get Backup Manager?
A: Backup manager is built with the PS3 SDK, which means it's technically illegal software, so you wont find it on this site, but it really isn't hard to find with a bit of googling. Whatever you do, don't ask for it here!
Q: Hey guess what, I found a copy of backup manager, how do I use it?
A: Ok, so before you start, do yourself a checklist:
You'll need -
Rooted phone,
running a ROM with the PS3groove code loaded onto it (e.g. open desire with klutsh's enable zip flashed on top of it),
USB cable plugged into your PS3 going to the phone.
Phone switched on and on the home screen.
A PS3 running Firmware 3.41 (support for earlier Firmwares will come later, but don't ask when).
Make sure there's no disk in the drive.
Step 1: POWER OFF your PS3 COMPLETELY. This means flipping the switch off at the back of it (if it's a PHAT PS3) or UNPLUGGING it if it's a SLIM PS3.
Step 2: Switch it back on and IMMEDIATELY press the "disk eject button". When I say immediately, I mean it - you've got 0.2s to press it!
you'll notice your PS3 takes longer to boot, a few extra seconds. Once it has booted, you'll notice under GAME, you'll have a couple of extra options.
Step 3: Plug in your USB drive with manager.pkg on it, then select "* Install Package File". Select manager.pkg and it'll install, giving you a new Icon.
Step 4: Backup manager is now installed. Run it and put a disk in the drive. You'll see it appear in the list and it'll give you an option to back it up. It'll first ask if you want the external drive, then it'll ask if you want to install it to the Internal drive. More on that later.
Now, go make yourself a cup of tea. In fact, make several, Blu-ray disks are frickin' huge and take time to backup.
...................
Ok, so the game is backed up. Go ahead and put it back in it's box, where it'll be safe from harm. Now, get yourself ANOTHER PS3 game, any game at all and put it in the PS3. In backup manager, you'll see both your disk game and the backed up game. Select the backup game and press "X".
You'll now be kicked back to the XMB. But look at the disk icon. It should be showing you the game you backed up, NOT the game in your drive. You'll need a legit PS3 game in your drive for this to work, you'll also need to make sure you're running BDMV enable, or it wont work (it'll still show you the game in the drive).
Q: Sounds great! But what's the catch?
A: Actually, there are several. For one, the external hard drive must be FAT32, or it wont be detected by the PS3.
Because of this, any games that have files greater than 4Gb wont work (for example, God of War III), you'll need to install it onto the INTERNAL drive.
Even then, some games may not work at all. Luckily, there are a few lists showing which games work, which don't and which only work on the internal drive.
Oh and some games require you to delete all of their savegame data before they'll load. Sorry.
Furthermore, things like DLC, patches, etc. tend to not work, but this is very early days at the moment, so sit tight!
Q: What's this I hear about "stealth" backups?
A: Quite simply, everyone is expecting Sony to want to protect their precious PS3, which will likely come in the form of a banwave for anyone doing this. Make no mistake, do not assume for a second that you wont get banned for doing this. Still, some people believe that they might be safer if they use a "stealth" Backup Manager. This is simply a version of Backup Manager that tries to make it look like you're playing a different game, like MW2. So far, despite rumours to the contrary, Sony hasn't banned anyone yet, so nobody knows just how detectable it all is.
I'm hoping something comes of this, but I wouldn't get TOO excited, the developer of this is only 15 and while I'm sure he's quite talented, he's still quite young so it could take him a while, assuming it's possible at all.
Still, I like the guy, he makes no promises, doesn't pretend to be anything he isn't and makes it quite clear what he is and isn't capable of. He's essentially said "I'll give it a shot!" and that's good enough for me.
Sorry for the double post, but there's an update on this:
http://netzke.blogspot.com/
This guy is working on an Android port and, from what he's posted, he's not far off.
I sent the kid a donation, looks liek he already has the PSGroove part of the app working.
@ neoKushan, what does age have to do with anything? i know a few kids who are 15-18 who are smarter then half the people i have met on XDA, Including my self.
there is a version compiled for the n900. i have it and it works, would be good if someone could compile for desire? it is open source

He's been exposed as a fake, unfortunately. There's a story on the front page of ps3hax about it.
I'd donate to Netzke if I had some good hard evidence that he's genuine but so far I haven't seen anything.

I'm aware. At the time I posted many people believed he had something genuine in store.
To be honest, porting over the N900 version mightn't be all that difficult.

I'm merely trying to point out that at 15, even if he's extremely talented, he's still quite inexperienced. From reading his twitter, he doesn't pretend otherwise. I completely support the guy and wish him well and by no means want to make it sound like he's a n00b or anything, I'm simply saying that he's young is all.

It's not the android phone that's being jailbroken, it's the Playstation 3 being jailbroken through the use of an Android phone.

I believe this is actually a software clone of the PSjailbreak exploit which has been re-engineered to be run off of our Android devices. I.E., Put your Android phone in "PSjailbreak Mode" and then connect to PS3, it would then perform the same functionality that having the actual USB device/dongle would provide.
A marvell idea and one that I would love to try out once the tool reaches a stable version. I'm sure over the next week or so we'll see who can actually port it and who is just 'fronting'.
I'll be subscribing to this thread for sure!
**EDIT** Seems neo beat me to the answer!
I've uploaded the binary files used on the N900 so we can get to work on the Android port.
It comprises of a kernel module and two shell scripts.
If what the other guy who's doing the android port says is true, you don't need a special kernel or anything to do this, just root access. Who knows how true that is, though.
Would be nice to see some collaboration from some devs here who know what they're doing lol
if this happens then its gonna be awesome!!
Finally region free BR!!
Netzke is obviously a scammer looking for a quick buck... he mentions in every post that 15$ will get beta access.
Yes, it looks like scam at mee too.
Anyway, looking forward to get the N900 version ported to Android (someone on PSX Scene said we just need to compile the source for the kernel of our phone)
It does appear to be all that's needed. It's a portable kernel module according to the dev. He's releasing the source later today so we wait in earnest.
Make that source release tomorrow, depending on time zone.
Was pushed on line just before he went to bed.
As for netkaz, he's scamming, first claim was donations for a server.
I offered up a full server for free for the life of the project, no response, now he's going to start on a iPhone port after he can afford a iPhone.
eavpsp, well his own private chat room was leaked, he was getting other dev's to do all the work then planned to put his name to it.
The dev that is showing most promise at the minute is qberty1337
But as already said, once the n900 kernel module source is out it should not take too long.
The PSP porting effort is a farce to be honest. We just need that N900 source code and we can get going.

thats good to hear
I hope someone is able to create a BR region free app for PS3 now!!
Before I start, yes I did look around, and the best I found were unanswered questions, but if someone can link me to some answers I would much appreciate it.
Anyway my questions mostly deal with unlocking. Now I've heard about ChevronWP7, but, as far as I can tell, it's only for a jailbreak type of 'unlock' rather than the traditional carrier unlocking, is that correct?
If so, is there a free way to unlock phones to use on different carriers?
Also, if a phone is already carrier unlocked, will the lock return when syncing with a computer?
Finally, if I were to get a phone just for development, would I need to use it as a phone at all (meaning have a SIM card inserted), or could I just treat it like an iPhone's iPod Touch?
Thanks in advanced
ChevronWP7 unlocks a phone, so you can install applications from other sources than marketplace. For example, develop your own application, and install it on phone.
Official way: Pay 99$ for MS, to be able to do that.

Thanks, that's what I figured. But as a student, I get it free anyway. Do you know the answers to my other questions?
Also, if I were to get an HD2 and install Windows Phone 7 on that, would I be able to use the marketplace and develop applications on that?
To develop apps you dont need the phone just the SDK and the emulator.

I know, I actually have a few apps up already. But the emulator only goes so far, you don't get to see how your apps look in the marketplace and you don't get to try out competing apps. The main reason I want a device now is because I'm working on a game and the emulator doesn't have multi-touch capabilities and in general it can be sluggish

If you're saying the game performs sluggishly in the emulator, it's much more likely that you have a memory leak or performance problem with your game, assuming your computer isn't slow.
If you want the apps on the phone you're going to either need to use ChevronWP7 (which will stop working after this next patch although apparently Microsoft will release or allow some sort of homerbrew solution after that patch) or get the dev unlock. Unfortunately, if you're in the App Hub through DreamSpark, they don't check your ID (which is required to get an unlock) until you try to submit your first app. This means you either have to upload a dummy app (which counts against your 5 free submissions) or you have to build an app entirely based on the emulator.
In terms of carrier unlock, I don't believe there is a free solution, but I'm entirely unsure about that.

It runs okay, but not as smooth as when I run it natively in Windows. This one is just a board game, I ran a more complex game I was working on in the past and it also ran fullspeed in Windows but was quite sluggish in the emulator. I know there are differences in the way the platforms handle memory, but I'm a pretty careful coder, I'm pretty sure it's more to do with the fact that the whole Windows Phone 7 dev kit is still quite new.
Anyway, I'm still thinking of going with the HD2 option. Would I be able to register that as a dev phone? If not how about ChevronWP7?
i think it was suggested earlier but you register your windows live account as a dev account (to activiate requires you to submit an app). once that's done, the phone automatically unlocks and works as a dev phone. i still don't agree on using HD2 as the basis of your dev phone, but i understand your lack of finances.

I like the idea of getting an HD2 just because of it's versatility, I could put Android on it if I wanted to try developing for that platform, the only thing stopping me is the fact that WP7 for HD2 will probably hit a snag when 7.1 comes out and I'd be stuck on the emulator again.
Actually I could get a proper Windows Phone, I just don't like paying for data. I just want to run it on WiFi and use it like an iPod touch. That's why I wanted to know if the device works fine without a SIM card or will it not let you do anything until you insert one? Surely owners of a device could answer this question.

Out of curiosity, what phones are you guys using?
Edit: Doh, just saw the Venue in your signature. Has T-Mobile ever bothered you about not having data?
Not once, they can't tell... I have an HD7, a venue pro, 2 focus' one quantum, and one surround. I'm a major fan
hey guys i was wondering is there any way to make the morphgear module work on the treo 750? the screen size i dont think would be a problem as the nes and other modules work, however everytime i load a rom it just stays black, why? if its cause of ram needed for rom space technically the treos 40 megas should be enought, is there any way to make it run?
Hey, hope you still check this forum.
You might want to try MoonGBA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079389
It's fabulous for the small GBA roms, but can be a bit of a problem as the ROM gets larger. D-pad plus the backspace and enter keys is fun
thanks, i didnt knew this emulator ill give it a try, maybe it saves my tro from being replaced by a nexus one XD
its awesome, pokemon and zelda run great XD, but i still have problems, when i close the game it says error and sometimes when tht happens i cant go into spb shell or task manager, any advice? i have fjortsols 4.3 wm6.5.0 rom

That's definitely a low RAM problem. You can either try my ROM or edit the pagepool of Fjtor's ROM to 5.
Right now I've been having RAM problems when running Opera Mobile (that program refuses to let other programs run at the same time), so I ended up cooking a custom WM6 ROM just to get that extra 8MB of RAM. Personally I find WM6 not bad
yea, i think wm6 is great to, its just that i have a new pc and all my tools are gone, so im really lazy...... i need to download everything again... and then crack spb mobile again -____________- but if that solves the problem ill try it thanks, btw does pokemon emerald work on yours? cause ive tried it on my palm and a friends htc rhodium using pocket gba and it doesnt work, just ruby and saphire
edit: i flashed ur shermans v2.3 base rom, the one with 24 mb ram, and it works awesome, thanks XD, btw i dont have a memory sd so, if i ave 14mb of storage left will it work fine? i have 30 left right now with emerald and zelda minish cap, yea emeralds working now to

That is fine. I once ran my Treo with only 2MB space available, and it was okay mostly because with Big Storage, the \Windows folder takes up a small amount of available storage, making it easier for the system to read files in that folder. And since you did not fill up your available storage with a lot of small tiny files, that's even better
yea, its great even with megaman zero, however i have been thinking, its there any way to get the tro with like 34mb of ram? cause only like that u culd play games like kingdom hearts com, and it would be awesome to play that on palm, i tried it and it ran great untill the first movie started , then it crashed.

You might want to look up that Kingdom Hearts game, from what I read it never worked at all for anyone, regardless of what they used (PC emulator, flash card, etc).
The Treo could have at least 32mb if I severely limit filesys.exe and take out all the phone related stuff like dialer and the today plugins, and then lower pagepool to 4.5mb
well actually it has worked for me on vba pc and iplayer for ds but it seems that in gba emulators for android and so, during the first movie te game freezes, thought it seems that for android they have lready found a solution, lazy ass square enix decided not to put a skip scene function -.-, o well... but it works at first even thought it is 32 mb the only thing that doesnt work its the firs movie, howcome it runs even thought this rom only has 24mb ram?
and for the rom, it would be awesome XD but maybe it is going a little to far
I see, so that ROM actually does work, it's just the program used to open it...

Did you enable sound? I believe they won't take up much RAM if sound is off. Another reason could be because with a lower pagepool, you're able to run those RAM hungry apps together, as long as they are being used one at a time.
i tried it with all possible combinations, even small screen without sound and every fps from 0 to 10 but nothing, look at this video, what happens to this dude who has android is what happens to me to, but somehow he does something on this video and fixes the bug:

Sorry for the late reply, but I know what that user in the video was talking about. So I tried to see if that will work, and I actually did get it to work in the Chinese version 2.4.2, I attached a screenshot.
Here's how to make it work. When the emulator crashes, just load the emulator again and then load the ROM. That's it, that's all I had to do lol.
But if that doesn't work for you, what the user described in the video was you have to save a state before the video plays, and then load that state. It should work by then. If all videos still freeze, tap the red square to go back to the menu and then resume the game.
If the game still doesn't work maybe you downloaded a bad one?

I got a few surprises for Version 2.6, if my testing can get finished I think you're going to have an even better GBA experience than the speed on the Touch Pro.

Right so basically i moved over from iphone to the samsung s3 i9300 and like my old iphone, i want some free games and ive rooted my samsung s3 but im unsure on how to do it. can someone please explain to me in a bit of detail or perhaps even post a video on how to do it. this is for games that require sd data, i can manage to download other games such as temple run, angry birds etc. I do faintly know some info on apk files and what not. thaaank you very much!!!:good:
So.. When you download a gamefrom the market and it requires sd data, the game itself downloads it to the right place...
AFAIK, with warez is a diferent matter, but can't discuss thah here, there are some other forums around which discuss this topic
