Is there any taskmanager / taskkiller, in which different actions can be defined for display-off-button and display-timeout?
I used a Taskmanager which killed the apps previously defined on pressing the power key (on top of the phone).
After updating, it kills my tasks if the screen goes off. Therefore, tasks are killed if power button is pressed AND if screen times out.
It was very nice before the update, killing the apps on pressing the button and having a low display timeout which saves battery but allows me to continue what i was doing after re-enabling the screen.
Is there any taskmanager / taskkiller which has this functionalitiy?

Anyone know of a program that will run two pre-defined shortcuts on the press of a hardware button (e. i want my OK button to both lock the phone with device lock and to turn off the display (display switch).
Many thanks
http://www.omegaone.com/batterypack/pro/default.htm try there Battery Pack Pro gives you power buttons so you can have one button do two things.
i saw that, along with some other programs, but they allow u to use each button as a press and press and hold to launch two programs, what i want is for a single button press to launch both program simultaniously.
You will need to use a program like nScriptm (http://www.s-k-tools.com/util.html) or MortScript (http://www.sto-helit.de/modules/edito/content.php?id=38).

is there any software or by changing the regredit ,can do that ?
You could download PHM Suspend PowerToy and either put it in your Start Menu apps or map one of the buttons to that program using using the button mapper in control panel.
There are many applications that allow this, and there are ways to do it manually also. VITO ButtonMapper is one. Search the forum and you'll find more options.
Alternatively, you could set your phone to turn the screen off after less time. Or you could set a long press of the hang-up key to lock the screen. Both of these options are available in control panel.

thanks a lot .
i wll have a try.
Precursors to behaviour:
-Pin security is set (required by exhange email policy)
-an ap in full screen (such as google clock) stays open past the security timeout
When I close that ap and return to the homescreen and subsequently fast press the power button to lock the screen the following happens:
-Screen goes blank (as it should) BUT...
-Fast press the power button fails to wake the phone
-Long press of the power button does not power off the phone
-Touch buttons light but the phone is otherwise blank/black and unresponsive
Ultimately, a battery pull is required to reboot the phone.
This has happened with both cognition and di11igaf's rom (the one I am currently using) and seems to be 2.2 related as rogers 2.1 only required the pin when powering up and used the slider for sleep.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Cheers!
I should also add that using SGS Info to change the "Power" button action in your phone will fix this, but only because it removes the lock screen entirely, negating any security you might want to implement (including the plain swipe option)
Wrong forum category perhaps?
I'm using Tasker to disable the key guard when connected to home wifi. Most of the time this works. But quite often after I've connected to wifi and the key guard has been disabled it will become enabled again (usually after I press the "Home" button on the phone).
Have you guys experienced this and is there a way to prevent this from happening?
i have same problem on desire, villainrom 3.3
And if i turn screen off it dissapears ,but after another home button press, it appears again.
Does anyone know how to turn off power consumption notifications (see screenshot)?
I know which apps are using power because I've specifically set them up that way!
I've tried swiping on the notification, but the options don't allow stopping the notification like you can with others. Is there another way?
Jesus wept, how hard is it to add a screenshot?!
The notification I'm on about states "Battery. Power Consumption Control. 1 app(s) are consuming power in the background, we recommend optimising now"
