[REQUEST] Black Notification Bar - Droid X Themes and Apps

Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying your X's on this hot day. I have a bit of a question/request, what is needed to make a black notification bar for the X?
I have a good idea of whats needed but would like the input of a experienced themer in the matter.
I have been referencing a noob guide just to be safe, http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...s-ese53-noob-guide-adb-pull-push-theming.html
and had intended to use a theme along these lines.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/mo...stone-2-0-1-2-1-update-compatibility-fix.html
What is the best way to accomplish a black notification bar on the Droid X? Or better yet, would someone be kind enough to make one?
UPDATE: User teenfaces has released a Dark Status bar theme!

BE CAREFUL IF YOU TRY THIS!!!! I have personally decided to not mess with themes on my X until we have either custom recovery or a .sbf to recover with. There have been MANY reports of people attempting to theme their x and BRICKING it! For me the choice is simple. Ill just use launcher pro and use the hide notification bar option.

I would definitely second that request. I too am a noob in the Droid world but loving the phone and OS thus far. Such a step in the right direction from both Apple and Win Mo 6. And, yes that dull grey bar is super ugly!!!

I too, would like the notification bar to be black

A black notification bar would be great! Are you planning on keeping the battery the same? If not, I think the Droid 1 battery looks the best, the one on Sense is just boring.

yeah i want a black one too!

Yes a black task bar would fit much better with theone dx. Please share if someone has found/made one.

can someone post a screnshot of this. i cant access the page

[Help] How do I change the top bar and bottom bar colors?

I have a ATT Tilt w/ default rom.
The WAD2 theme I am using is black, however, the top bar and bottom bar are still the default blue. So when I go into file explorer or click on the start button, the default blue bars ruin my theme.
Any way to change those to black?
I searched and came across some threads, but those went beyond what I was looking for and confused me (not a programmer).
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I am even welling to install WA3 to get it black.
Hope this helps

You should search for BlackBerry Redux theme.
Someone else did it and it is an amazing theme. I have changed a couple items to match my needs and WAD2 is great for that. Easy to learn also.

[MOD] - Slate Rosie - [Launcher/Button Bar from Desire HD] [10/1]

I ported over the button bar from the Desire HD's slate skin. I figured i would share this with the everyone else. This flashable zip will replace /system/app/Rosie.apk, and /system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk. It will overwrite any theme you have flashed. If you have a theme that you want this bar on. Please upload the two files associated (rosie and resource apk's) and I'll gladly upload revised themes. If you're going to try and replace the image files... this will work, but the small scroller bar will still arch. Achieving no-arch is done in an xml file.
Thanks
Currently tested on OTA update 3.29*, slightly modified rom.
Edit: I Fixed the off-set app drawer and add button.

Eh, does appear to be different. Disregard.
That theme is built on the Samsung framework so things like the lockscreen cannot be ported. I dont know how much of this theme you are hoping to get onto your phone.
I will take a look at it and see what i can do. Will post back in a day or two with my findings. As said above the lockscreen probably cant be ported but i can probably port most of the rest.
Edit: after looking at the origonal thread it looks like this had a lor of custom elements. Before I even atrempt work on this I am going to have to message the creator and talk to them.additionally many of the menus can not be ported as is.
What are people looking for if I do take this ona besides the notification bar and icons and a few other minor pieces not sure it can be done.
dammit, i really like that lock screen, ,how come samsung has the good stuff. Is it impossible to port that lock screen over?
I'm using this one, and its awesome:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943423
The lockscreen is part of the framework, the same way the sense lockscreen is part of the sense framework. You would mainly be able to change images like the status bar and menu items.
Hoping all is going smoothly for the person attempting this

That honeybread theme is great. Didn't know haxzamatic did that.
I linked off that page to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943071 <--Great CM7 themes.
The Blue Bionic and Orange Octane are beautiful. Love the notification dropdown, finally no more "bright" power widget.

[REQUEST] Custom Facebook and Market apk

I have recently came to what I believe is my resting place as far as roms and themes (for a little while at least). I am wondering if anyone would be willing to create me a custom facebook and market apk based on my current theme and wallpaper pictured below.
I will say thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to take this on. I wish I knew how to create an apk and I would just go at it myself.
Wanted to add to this maybe a black dialer keypad with red letters and white numbers.

I'm not saying I can't theme Facebook and the Market app for you but is time consuming and to be honest, I'm not into the whole RED thing BUT.....there's help after all! Check out this thread and contact the OP aka the guy that started the thread and see if he has a themed Facebook/Market app that you can borrow from him! If he doesn't have one, I'm sure that will properly be on his list of things to do for future updates to his theme! Oh and YES, the market and facebook app should work on a sense rom even though his theme is for CM7 (AOSP rom)!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042045
Hope this has helped a bit......GOOD LUCK!!
It is actually quite ironic that you would suggest that as I flashed CM7 back on yesterday and am using his themes etc. I have never been huge on red and black but there have been a couple of themes that just pop and I am kinda hooked on black and red for now.

I just happened to come across your post. Here is the market that I am currently using which will go perfect with your setup. Follow this and try the red transparent market. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888330
Also, we are putting the finishing touches on our red themed facebook.apk and should be posted today or tomorrow on the theme thread so keep checking back.
Will do!! Thanks!

Looks awesome man.
I am currently running this. Only criticism I would give is the page slider could use tuning its kind of edgy low res on my phone. But, it isn't a deal breaker still the best theme I've had on my phone

Id would like to, but im not in reach of a computer. If you scroll up or down in a thread it's the blue triangle that appears on the right side. That is blocky. Idk if its fixable or not. But like I said awesome theme regardless of the little tiny triangle slider

Does this theme work with Gummy2.0? It looks good
Also - I understand wanting your name on your work, but the Gummy badge in the notification bar drives me bonkers. Is there an easy way to strip that so it just says Verizon again? Thanks
Does this theme allow the displaying of Missed Calls/Unread Texts on the MIUI lockscreen in GC 2.0? I've noticed that this functionality seems to be missing in the default theme.
