I hope I am posting in the correct place. I very rarely post here, but read alot. This forum has been a great help over the years with all my different windows mobile phones and devices.. Y'all are tops!
So, my question.
I have an HTC Pure (att branded touch diamond 2). I discovered the other day while hooking my phone into my truck radio that I can use it to have phone conversations through the speaker of my car radio.
The problem is, the person I am talking to can here themselves, as the phone mic is picking up the radio output. I have tried all the settings I can think of. Hands free and speakerphone options are "grayed out" while the htc headphone adaptor are plugged in, so no joy there.
Are there any apps out there to facilitate this?
It is like talking on onstar, ultimate hands free.. Just need it to act like speakerphone, so the phone doesn't "hear" it's own output through the truck radio speakers.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi guys:
I am having some real trouble with talking on the phone on my PDA2k and my ear. Every time I talk on the phone (I talk a lot!!!), I end up with a bunch of applications open because my ear is touching the screen and launching all sorts of things.
The one that is really killing me is when my ear "dials up" another number while I'm on the phone.
I know, there are ways around this via handsfree, but sometimes you gat a call while our Jabra is charging or when your wired headset is in the car or somewhere else.
My obvious question is: is there anyway to lock the screen while you speak, so the touchscreen with the ears will not happen?
Thanks for any advice.
Fernando
I think you may need new drivers for your ear.
A more expensive option is new ears (not to be mistaken for New years). This option is frowned upon and illegal in most places.
Funny.
I did find a solution in PPC Toys, which locks the screen to the touch. Works great.

27, You just made my xmas! Keep it real bro, soooo funny
Sorry to chime in a newb sort of question such as this, but I really need help with getting the g2x to ring through external speakers, even through my PC speakers would work.
I bought an mp3 speaker system last night with aux. line in and tried to hook the phone into the speakers that route - I could hear all audio - EXCEPT the one thing I needed: The ringtone/ringer when the phone rings.
Is there some way to set up a connection (w/o bluetooth) to PC, or through ANY method with external speakers without spending $200+ ?
Thanks.
R
Could someone PLEASE help me with this - or is it:
A.) too stupid a question, or
B.) too complex for anyone here to answer?
My guess would be A., but still, people come here for help... Is there no one who will take a second to answer this?
Thanks to anyone who has the time to help.
I am not sure if the audio has to come from the phones speak when it rings or if it can come out of ext speakers. I am sure someone can answer it and i don't think of this as dumb most likely a setting that you haven't found or a program you need from the market.
Ive been streaming music at work with various android devices for 2 years. Phone is hooked up to 2 pc speakers and a sub. The ringer never came out of the speakers. Must be a limitation of android.

Might be intentional. The first time I got a phone call while I was listening to streaming music on my three-phones-ago Windows Mobile phone, the ring came through the headphones and nearly blew out my eardrums!
Ok so this question has been issued 3 times on XDA already, and some more on the net. However, noone, on the entire world, seems to have an idea on what to start with.
Why can't my phone act as a headset (bluetooth)?
An Android phone (but could be another OS) has BT drivers, speaker, microphone... all it needs! I undderstand phones are usually designed to be used with a BT headset rather than as a BT headset, but i see many situation where that could be handy:
- two phones (all calls taken from one)
- calling through computer, but handling the phone
- same through tablet
Now, here on XDA there are all kind of skilled hardcore devs. Why nobody ever got the Android BT driver and apps to turn the phone into a headset? Whyyyyy?
Thanks for reading
because they all bought in-ear bluetooth kits and couldn't be bothered.
Why not just buy a logitech 930 and roam the house? Probably a bit better on the head and if you are friend with Beyonce like me, great to hear in 7.1.
Lol, i wonder why every single thread asking this question always gets the same answer: "why not buy a headset?"
Although i understand what you are meaning, this does not answer the original question
Can someone please answer the actual question with technical details or is this subject cursed for life to getting no answer/off topic answers?
Roam the house? Bluetooth has a very short range.
If someone made android headphones that streamed PC stuff over wireless you'd have a far longer range and much better audio quality.
i really need that.... (why not just buy "BT", very meaningless since you are not understand our situation)
For me, HTC Flyer (tablet) x 1, HTC ChaCha x 1, I have hundreds of BT headsets, but dont you think:
1. extermly trouble every day charging for 3 items?
2. to bring 7" tablet, one cellphone and a bt headset more?
3. *** MAJOR PROBLEM*** i have 1 SIM card only (network and phone), with two mobile... if i can put the SIM into Flyer and pick up the phone from ChaCha that will be wonderful.
Kind of like the above poster I have an Android phone with a no data plan, but I have a galaxy tablet with a tablet data plan
So it is an very troublesome to yell at the tab to talk on Skype or Dell voice or other voip.
It would be very good if I can use my phone to act as the headset
I do not want to hang a Bluetooth headset on my ear
So...anyone has any idea?
Hi,
there is a solution you can use the samsung galaxy player 3.6 device with android 2.3.6.
It is a multimedia player not a smartphone but it has the BT profile so you can use it also as a headset for your phone or tablet and it works really great.
It can be a nice add-on for a tablet or an oversized telephone.

Anyway this could be ripped out of a ROM for that device and made to work on others?
darn what a dissapointment to notify that it will not work.
I wanted to keep my work phone and private phone sepparated but picking up all calls with my private phone while no one knows my private number seems so great...
any news on this??
I know this should probably be posted in my device's forum (Samsung Focus), but I figure more people will probably look here and the topic about headphones in that forum is pretty dead.
I'm looking for headphones that are 100% compatible with a Samsung Focus, or any WP7 for that matter (I might be upgrading to a Focus S or a Titan - not sure yet). I don't want anything too expensive, I just want there to be volume up, volume down, pause / play / next / previous / answer call, and a microphone. I currently use iPhone headphones (as I bought my Focus used and never received a headset) and everything works except for the microphone and volume buttons (I'm surprised that much works).
So can anybody confirm 100% working headphones with the Focus / any WP7 device? Again, I am sorry that I'm not putting this in the right forum but that one has been dead for a few months.
EDIT:
I've looked at headphones here, but nobody has posted reviews on any of the headphones.

Hi Diablosblizz,
I use a simple A2DP receiver and then use whatever earphones/buds that i preferr at the time. All of the controls that you desire are held in the receiver unit and as i say the earphone type/price/quality remain your choice.
Hope this helps,
Creamy
I totally agree with last answer...the jack plug on my phone is dead from first day so i bought a 20€ bluetooth headphone (msound brand)...everything you need works, just an annoying thing since mango: music stops 10secs when a new message coming.

So, basically it is a Bluetooth device that connects to the phone and then I plug my headphones into it? I'm curious as to if this will continue to play my music. I have a PS3 Bluetooth headset that connects to the phone and works perfectly, but I can't listen to music through it.
Is there any way possible you could link me to your device so I could look into it more?
Okay so I am not exactly a noob by any means, however I have the OPO and I have a portable BT speaker. jam XT to be exact...I want to know if it is possible to to use both the phone and speaker as a 2 way communicator. A better example of what I'm meaning is picture yourself going to MacDonald's drive thru you order food at the over mic, they hear you and you hear them. In like mannar is this possible with a phone and bt speaker? The speaker has a built in mic and I'd like to use it for the reasons of family matters and the like. Please and thsnkyou.
Was sitting outside and thought of this so I had to ask as I can't find anything related to it. Spent hours trying to find it...
