13mm Wide-Angle/0.67X Macro Lens - Desire Accessories

Finally got the $10.37 magnetic lens (shipping free) after over a month and personally, for its price, this one is already a good deal. For quick macro shots, this does the job pretty well.

and here's the lens:
Above images were taken using Samsung Wave, will post from Desire later.
EDIT: wide-angle blurs the edges. see image below. taken using Desire.

what does the wide angle lens do exactly?
can you post up some pics using that?
AND if anyone from the UK has bought these, where from?
I would like to get some, just don't want it to be ridiculously expensive.

It's $10.37 on dealextreme. It's in the title. That looks simply breathtaking for any phone camera though.

I had been looking at this for the last hour, Videos seem to offer nothing but praise and no problems.
The picture you posted leave me feeling slightly dissapointed, Ofcourse it could be worse, it could be a $2 Jelly Lens.
What does the sticky ring look like on desire backing?
Picture please?
Also the pictures on flickr, Seem to be down.

Edited my first post, seems like a flickr problem.
For its price, this tiny lens does the job, specially for macro shots but personally the wide-angle lens is rather useless for me, since it blurs the edges.
Note that shipping takes awhile, mine arrived after a month.

Im assuming you had to use the adhesive ring, can you take a picture of that, Just to see how it will nasty up my phone and give me a size, not sure if it will require ms to remove my case to use It
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

yes, i needed to use the adhesive ring. i have removed it several times and it still sticks. The ring is very thin, so depends on the case you're using I guess there will be no problem. I am using Zagg InvisibleShield.
here you go:

First picture is what i was looking for but isnt thay a great angle, So it looks like it fits into the boundaries of the silver area, Im using a silicon case so I think it would fit...

15mm Wide-Angle is Much Better!
See the video by MMMMMike here: http://www.dealextreme.com/feedbacks/browseVideos.dx/sku.39814
He shows footage with the 13mm lens of the OP also with terrible edge distortions vs. the much better 15mm version wich sells for $16.75 shipped. Note that is does not have a removable part for macro but if one wants quality fish eye footage...

I also have this lens ..
Soon I will add review on this lens here :

[Q] Has anyone found a lens that fits the epic?

When i was looking for a new phone i was set on getting the evo 4g, until i saw the epic of course. BUT as i was looking at things for the evo, i noticed there is a lens attachment you can buy for it (macro, fish eye, etc). Deal extreme has one for under $11, and the pics the evo took with it are awesome.
Has anyone tested any macro lenses with the epic? also does anyone know the size (in mm) of the lens, because there is quite a few universal lenses that just need to be the same size to fit. The lens above comes with a magnetic ring that adheres to the case around the lens, that way you can conveniently attach the lens (which is freakin huge compared to the phone) for when your taking pics.
i cant hyperlink since im new, so heres how to find what im talking about
lens off of deal extreme
sku.14953-just punch in that sku number in the site search
Site for photos taken with evo and lens
it is macroaday (.com)

They are a waste of time and money. Trust me I've purchased them.
The one from deal xtreme works fine. I bought one for the evo and fits fine on the epic, its a little unstable feeling but it stays on. It does work in that it helps you take super macro shots. But it is a bit of a gimmick that you will eventually not use very much. But it does work as advertised in my expierience.
They have these for the DSi also and they don't really do anything other than looking ridiculous.

Omg, I laughed so hard when I saw this.
LOLZ at the dsi pic
I was interested in the macro lens because some of the stuff on macroaday.com are pretty sweet coming off of a phones camera, I know they are big and, well I guess dumb looking, but I was just looking at messing around with the camera. Certainly wasn't planning on keeping the lens on all the time and flashing it around like a fashion statement.
Just bought the marco lens off of deal extreme, ill post some pics if they come out decent.
Those things are just jewelers loupes in a case.... If you want go on ebay buy a 20x jewelers loupe, and you'll be getting the best macro's in the world. Fish eye's & everything else are a bit different, but the macro is just a magnifying jewelers loupe.... A pretty low magnifying one at that.
why not use digital variations of lenses you can find free on the marketplace?
He's talking about optical/physical features. Much better quality.

Any follow up?

Camera lens attachments: telephoto, macro, fisheye, etc.

Has anyone tried out any of the various cheap lens attachments available? I'm thinking about getting one or two to see if they are at all usable.
nope but im kinda interested myself
+1
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I have no doubt they are very much usable. The silver decorative ring around our camera seems like it is good enough of a surface to stick the magnetic ring. So yeah, it would be usable. I don't see why it wouldn't be.
On the other hand, I have a feeling it will have the same shortcomings as it does with the iPhone 4/4s with not being able to use flash without it interfering with the shot.
ordered two
I ordered two of the stick-on magnetic ring attachment type:
a macro/wide-angle combo lens ($5.00 shipped):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005C3CSXC
a fish-eye ($6.26 shipped):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TEFKM6
I'll report back once they arrive from Hong Kong and I have a chance to try them out.
If anyone else has ordered a different type, please post so we know what different kinds people are trying (and can bug you if you don't post the results!). I'm curious about the "Jelly Lens" ones, as well as the longer telephotos. I'd also love to try the microscope attachments, but I've only seen them for iPhone and they seem to require a case to attach.
Unless you have Amazon prime and get free shipping, you can probably find it MUCH cheaper on ebay.

Sweet! It said Hong Kong, but they actually shipped from New Jersey. I got them yesterday. I put together a G+ gallery showing what these lenses can do and a little write-up on them: https://plus.google.com/u/0/115647333525152102730/posts/b2ysvnYbLMy

EDIT: Never mind, I see one shot and I can see the difference between it and the fish eye lens. Looks useful.

More lens fun... I modded a cheap 60x microscope to use the same magnetic ring attachments.

Here's where I got it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055V5PEA/
As far as I can tell, it's pretty much the same unit being sold many different places. But the magnetic ring I glued to it came with another lens, one of the ones linked from here: http://ragesoss.com/blog/2012/12/05/phone-lens-attachments-win/
You can make a cheap high magnification macro lens adapter for your phone's camera by just pulling the small lens out of a laser pointer or CD/DVD drive. Simply attach it to your phone somehow and center it over the camera. I've done it with my HTC One V, and the results are pretty impressive. I did notice some severe barrel distortion on the edges, but that's easy enough to fix with Photoshop. Here are some links with details:

[Q] Lens for the HOS

So, I wonder whether to buy a lens for my HOS, like the one from the picture, but my question is, if anyone has tried such type of lens - do they fit the ridiculously large camera on the back of our phones, cause I don't want to spend my money for nothing. The back camera is pointlessly large, and just from the picture I can't see if it'll fit.
So anyone tried such lens on the HOS?

The real question is why? the One S camera gives acceptable (just) quality pictures on its own, adding a $12 tele adaptor lens to it isn't going to give you much more zoom and it will drop the quality way way down. If you're that keen to get rid of your cash send it to me

Nexus 4 zoom lens?

Lets face it, the N4 doesn't have the best phone camera in the world, and its not helped by when you want to zoom in (as its digital zoom).
I've looked around on Google, but am yet to find one that's specificaly for the N4, or is compatible with it..
It would be a great add on accessory for all those amutar photographers who are on a bone crushing tight budget.
So if anyone has a zoom lens that's compatible with the N4 or is specifically for the N4 please let me know, thanks.:good:
The universal phone lenses found on eBay etc will work fine. They come with an adhesive metal ring which you stick around your camera lens, the attachable lenses are magnetic and attach to the metal ring
Buy a real camera, lol.

You can try one of these. This one says its for the note 2 but its universal. I have one like it but mine is a fisheye/wide angle lens and it works pretty good.

Photojojo. Look them up. I have their Fish eye lens, for 31$. I plan on getting the wide and macro lens, and i believe theres a zoom lens on their too. It's attached to your phone by a magnetic ring, and what's good about these rings, are that you don't have to glue them on. There's a stick adhesive on one side of the ring, which in the future if you don't want, you can remove easily. Good people at photojojo. If you want to order from them, give me a heads up and i can give you a 5$ off code which will make it 26.

Ha, I went on a search for a microscope add on for my N4 after watching Elementary, I couldn't find one for the N but loads for apple my hope is if I get an S4 as a mass market big selling phone someone will make a microscope for it, I like the Zoom lens idea too.

Photojojo lenses fit S4 (and Neo Hybrid case) perfectly

For those interested the Photojojo magnetic lenses fit with the S4 and the Neo Hybrid case pretty much perfectly spot on. They use a little adhesive metal ring that goes around the camera to attach the lenses which can be a bad fit with some phones and cases.
