Unable to Reset - Captivate General

I picked up the Captivate yesterday, this is my first Android device. I have not rooted or done anything of that nature to the device. Everything was running fine until late this morning when I have been unable to download any applications from the market, 'download unsuccessful'. I just tried to perform a factory reset and I receive the following message, ' No reset was performed because System Clear service is not available'. I have tried turning the phone off and on as well as removing the battery but keep getting the same results. Any thoughts on how I should proceed?
Thanks,

If the phone has not been rooted or hacked in anyway I would just call support at Samsung or AT&T and let them address the problem.

Unfortunately, Android System has Stopped! Help Please!

Last night I decided to switch to ART from Dalvick runtime. Ever since, when android finishes loading, I get the error message "Unfortunately, Android System has Stopped." I've tried returning to stock (I'm rooted) and neither of my windows computers can see my phone which is weird because I unrooted my LG G3 recently with no problems. I've performed a hard (factory) reset numerous times. Sometimes the android system loads up OK but as soon as I reboot or power down I have the error message again. I'm at my wit's end. I can't return the phone because it's still rooted and I can't get it to work. When it boots, the LG screen appears normally. The At&t screen appears normally. Please help! I'm desperate.
If you're okay with losing info, give this a shot. I'm not sure exactly why it's doing this unless you had xposed framework before. Anyway, follow the steps and it should fix it. I'm not sure if you've tried going into the boot loader yet and doing a factory reset through there. So you can try whatever you like

I can't get a computer to recognize the phone. I have tried a hard reset and I still get the error message. Any other ideas?
I had the same issue after I tinkered with something I shouldn't have tinkered with. I think I installed GravityBox, didn't like what it did, tried to factory reset, and started getting the Android System error consistently.
That link mcnick posted will serve you well. I would however use this thread since it's tailor made for the AT&T variant.

[Q] Issue with Stock Unrooted Htc one

Hello xda! Thank you for all you guys have provided over the years. Hopefully I can get some help for my issue. I'll tell as much as I can before my phone reboots. Again.
Recently, as I was landing in Japan, I put my phone in airplane mode. Instantly, Google processes began stopping and multiple others.
Every time I restarted I had multiple failures, and multiple reboots. A factory reset did nothing for the issue, and the repair assistant put my phone in a state where the I don't get any setup after a factory reset. After each restart, my phone returns to its previous state. Is there anything I can try?
*Not sure if I should add that I'm back in the U.S.

Run this S-on RUU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/general/official-ruu1-55-605-2-t2883845
Choose the same Android version you have installed now or a higher one. You cannot downgrade when you're S-on. That should give you fresh start.
If you don't have fastboot/adb installed on your PC follow the instructions in option 1 and download the .exe
I ran the ruu.exe to the end. It said "Congratulations, your firmware is updated." Unfortunately, it was the same after I restarted. I also tried factory reset again, but no dice.

Can I fix unfortunately com.Android.phone stopped working without reset

I have an Galaxy S6 on Verizon that I just bought a week ago. I rooted it and it's on 5.0.2. I started removing bloatware with titanium backup and everything was fine. 5 days after I did this I started to get the error " unfortunately com.Android.phone stopped working". It keeps popping up continuously and makes it hard to do anything on the phone. It happens even after a restart.
I tried clearing the cash in recovery mode. I tried going into settings, app manager, phone and clearing data and cache. I tried clearing contacts.
I am trying to avoid resetting the phone to factory since I just finished debloating it and I actually got the battery to last a full day where as when I first got the phone and it was stock, it had a horrible battery life. Is there anyway to solve this? I have looked all over the internet and only found the solutions above which don't work.
If resetting is the only way do i do a reset through setting backup and restore or do I reset from restore mode?
Go into recovery and wipe cache

SM-G930V Unauthorized Actions after Root?

Hello,
I recently rooted my SM-G930V for the first time. However, after doing so, I started to get these Unauthorized Actions messages every few minutes. I tried to turn it off by uninstalling SecurityLogAgent but that only made the problem worse as it began to warn me every few minutes that SecurityLogAgent had "failed to run". I got frustrated and went to recovery mode and reformatted and got rid of root. It's no longer rooted but those damn Unathorized Actions messages won't go away! I'm noticing now that my text messages can fail to send as well. At this point I'd like to go back to stock as if I had just bought the phone new. But when I try to use Odin with a stock image I found from Boycracked. Odin keeps failing at auth. What can I do to revert my phone back to normal? Any help would be appreciated. I was in way over my head.
Thanks!
Factory reset from recovery should fix it
You can get stock ROMs from here
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=G930V
Factory reset did not work. The warning continues. =\
The stock rom you linked me to worked! Thank you so much!!
Sorry to bother! My battery drainage is suddenly very bad. Is this from all the flashing with Odin? I don't think I'm fully reset.
ODIN doesn't reset, backup, then factory reset from recovery and see if that helps

Factory reset fail

Hi, I have tried to reset my phone to a factory settings several times, but it was never switched back to the initial settings of a brand new phone. Prior to trying to do this reset, I have tried to root the phone by installing TWRP (I was never successful according to a few root checker apps) and then was stuck with being unable to remove TWRP from the phone. I managed to do that a few days ago with the help of Odin and a stock firmware, however I didn't get the initial settings of a brand new phone. When I do a factory reset, I see a blue screen with an android icon and a message ''Erasing data'' but when I launch the phone I always see a yellow background that I setup in December. I don't see any custom installed apps, only the default ones, but since I want to sell the phone I would like to be able to reset the phone back to the initial settings without a yellow background showing on a Home and Lock screens. Any help?

this may sound dumb, but ive had this exact same issue on many previous phones, and it was resolved by doing a factory reset from within the GUI a few times, yes literally do it at least twice, and then doing a factory reset in the stock recovery literally 3 times, and for the overkill, flash the factory tarball via odin for giggles. If that doesnt do it, not sure what else will

I'll do all that one more time to remove the gold screen, leave the phone aside and purchase a new phone for use. I'm sure it will work since nothing had changed since the last year when I knew the phone last time by hear. Thank God, phones don't talk. I'm sure it will work because it worked with all other phones I had since I know them so well. I wish I thought of it earlier. How smart!
