I want a battery widget that shows the percentage and doesn't drain the battery but no matter how much I look I always see someone claiming battery drainage for all the widgets out there.
Doesn't have to be fancy, just want to see the percentage
Has anyone any ideas?
I am using BatteryLife by CurveFish. It works just fine for me.
BatterySnap looks good, has great data, and uses zero CPU/battery.

I used to use the HTC Corporation Battery widget that works with the 1.5, but it wont work with the 2.1's. What is a good battery widget, that shows the %, but does not actually drain the battery or is a memory hog. I've been searching, but in almost all the comments in various battery apps, people complain what resource hogs/battery drainers they are.

I use it and it is an excellent app, and doesnt drain my battery at all like 99% of the others I've tried!
Systray Monitor
Testing it out. Thanks for the link, looks promising
I like Battery indicator (I use pro for the red/green indicator) because it puts the percentage remaining in the status bar and I have not noticed any drain from the app.
I really like batterlife by curvefish

+1 on that.
does anyone know of an app or widget to say how much *time*, not percentage, is left on the battery?
If you are on Android, try Battery Doctor.
It gives all vivid details pertaining to your batter state.
Do any of these really work?
I would LOVE to have an app to increase the battery life on my TBolt, but from what I hear, none of them really work without turning off a lot of the features of the phone. You might as well turn the phone off to save battery.
I'm using one of the kernels from Adrenalyn which is helping tremendously, but wouldn't mind even b etter battery life
I've noticed in my Battery Use that it shows the camera as using 70%, but I haven't even used the camera. It seems like I'm not getting very good battery life so I'm wondering if this is draining it really bad. Anyone else have this issue?

That battery use % thing isn't very accurate, and even when it is, it's hard to understand what it's telling you.
What do you mean by "good battery life" and what ROM are you running on your g-tab?
dont know if it is helpfull or not but one thing i have found is the autosync drains the battery real fast, also setting the screen to full brightness sucks alot of juice. i have been unplugged for an hour reading the forums and still at 92%,that is good as far as i am concerned,if autosync and brightness were set on ut would be at 75% by now

Pretty obvious? But the screen brightness does make a substantial impact on battery life.
VirusRom and Lean Kernel
This is pretty well known information.
Every little bit of info helps. Check all auto updating apps as well. they can use lots of Battery power.
What I want to know is why after a reboot on any ROM it seems the battery drops approx. 8-10%? It doesn't take that much battery to reboot a phone. This has been the frustrating thing for me thus far.
Yeah, one of the biggest battery savers for me was turning Facebook from 1 hour to 1 day (auto update). I can't believe how much battery that uses. Set the screen to manual brightness with the Android Power Widget and bam - you've got a phone that can last awhile.
I am using the CM7 RC0.4 and the battery is awesome. Here the screenshot.

Yes. Yes it does.

Yup, It does drop 10% of the battery usage every reboot.

No offense meant but you obviously haven't used your phone for anything the entire time.

Good info for those new to large screens. The screen is by far the largest battery hog on these phones for me. I find the screen plenty bright at about 30%. Except in the sun of course

in other news, water is wet and the sky is generally blue.
I wish I could get some nice battery life! I already have my phone set at 30% brightness, my auto updates are set at like 4 hours. I fully charged my phone last night and unplugged it when I went to bed. 8 hours later it was at 45% battery remaining. Doesn't seem that good for a phone sitting with display off and doing nothing overnight.
I'm using ViperS 3.1.1 and my battery life sucks...
Example. yesterday, i had 90% of battery left, but i googled one picture and downloaded it (small file) and then i had 20% left.
I don't really surf with my phone, but i listen music A LOT! and it sucks when my battery is always low.
I Don't have animations enabled, no Bluetooth, no wifi, no 3G...
So any tips?

I have to say one thing - WOW. People actually report good battery life with that kernel.
Here's a list of things that affect battery life (by the order I remember them, not by impact):
Screen Brightness
CPU speed and governor
Running apps (wakelocks, which lock the device so it will not sleep)
Communication (network, WiFi, BT etc.)
Also, you can delete battery stats from recovery, and there are apps to track battery usage (and the built-in tool in settings).
Which reminds me: Can you post your battery usage from the settings?
Also, your battery could be dead, but let's check everything else first.
switch to 2G only
install Greenify, to set apps to hibernate
I know this may not be the ideal tip but when my phone started doing that I went on amazon a bought an Anker battery. I calibrated it first before normal use as it supposed to have more of a charge and can read wrong on ur battery stats if u dont. I am a heavy user on my phone and it has made a huge difference. I've had the battery for a year and its still running strong.

How old is your battery? Stock battery?
Sounds like your battery is on it's way out, losing almost all of your charge on downloading one image is ridiculous lol.
Get a genuine Anker 1900.
