Picked mine up yesterday. Been playing with it all night. Battery life not so good so far. I have a hotmail account setup and it takes forever to download new messages or attachments. Anyone else?

...I've been using IMAP to get my gmail. But I have a serious problem!
Unlike activesync push email, I can't find a setting to restrict the times the phone checks for email. This is a problem, because it wakes me up at random times with spam or newsletter emails!
Other than muting the phone before bed, which might cause me to miss an emergency phone call, what can I do?
Try Seven Beta, they do push for Gmail and all the others as well.
Or try Windows Live (forward gmail to Live).
Seven doesn't require you to forward it anywhere, and it will work for your Live account as well.
the only thing is Seven doesn't work . Really, i have been trying all day, and sometimes it can't "communicate with base", emails never come or come 10 minutes later... It has been a blast for me. They did sent me an email that they had a problem, i guess their problem still continues.

They have been having server issues recently, it is all detailed on the forum. It is only to be expected from a Beta product that there will be issues form time to time. Before anyone asks i have no connection to them apart from being a fairly satisfied end user.
I think the best thing to do is create a Live account (microfot) and redirect by copying automaticaly all your mail from all your accounts to this new one.
Like live use http connection, you can have a free push mail service.
And i tried seven beta but it uses lot of ressources and when I'm in the Metro "The french tube", i've not always the network. Then if he can't connect just one time, i have to re-write my password.
How's the battery when using live.com push service? Currently I'm using mail2web, I'm not sure why my account still works altough I'm not paying for it. The battery life so far is very good. But when using seven, it seems the battery drains faster than using exchange for push mail.
Is anyone still having problems with Gmail push? Sometimes it takes up to 3 hours for me to get a email, other times 30 seconds. I just sent myself a test email from a different account and after ten minutes nothing, even when I try to manually sync it its not getting my messages. Anyone else having these problems?
so far its working great for me, although last night i was having about an hour and half delay and no syncing so it might be something with google.
When I get new emails, or delete emails on my computer, the phone is NOT UPDATING/REFRESHING. This happened BEFORE AND AFTER the OTA UPDATE. I also made sure in settings that it was set to sync.
Whenever I manually refresh, the manual refresh works. So far that's the only way it works. I just came from a Vibrant and it was working fine.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Sorry I do not have a solution...but I notice the same on mine
When I woke up this morning and grabbed my phone on the way out the door, I noticed I had no emails. I know that I usually get a few throughout the night/early morning (bank balances and such). When I opened the Gmail app and hit refresh...it suddenly pulled them all and had 13 unread emails...
...I noticed for the last week or so, my HD2 running Foyo 2.2 was also acting a bit wonky with email delivery as well...but because Android is not native on that device, I kind of blamed it on that fact...maybe not?
It's not just you:

I will get my GMail emails without manually refreshing, but rarely...
There's too many crumbs all over the place at google right now.

I set up my Xoom with my exchange account last week, everything was working fine or so i thought. Now im seeing that Im getting email 10-15 min after it shows up in my inbox. When I was using touchdown I would get the email on my Xoom before my computer most times. Is anyone else haveing issues like this. I prefer the stock app but I would like email to come in fast. Right now I must go into the email app and refresh it.

Self bumb. HELP IM GOING NUTS. I noticed the same issue is going on with my phone too. all other users in network with android phones are fine. just me >.< could activesync be freeking out because I have 2 devices trying to sync
Noticed a bit of a delay as well today with the stock app. My phone (Nexus one) gets mail pretty much at the same time outlook does but a 5 minute delay on the Xoom. Are you guys on Exchange 2010 or 2007? We are on 2007 currently migrating to 2010 and should be completely done with the move in a few weeks. Hoping 2010 corrects the issue.
Are you using any task killers? I am so tomorrow I am going to disable them and see if there is a change.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
So no luck this morning with the default email app. Touchdown, however, worked nicely. I am actually receiving my email on the tablet before my phone now. Not the ideal solution but it works.
I have the same set up. Android phone and Xoom set up to activesync. Every once in a while, the xoom is very slow in updating. Not sure why. If anyone has any thoughts, please let us know!
I think this is an issue with Honeycomb. I have also noticed that sometimes GMail does not sync as quick as my phone does. Using the Wifi Only model btw.
Ok, after i went home last night I noticed things got better. Today while im at work everything seems ok. takes about 10 sec or so to sync to my Dinc and Xoom.
What we did to fix things:
1. logged into the mobile admin site for our active sync, I have been sync'ing virtual android systems and I had 9 different devices sync'ing everytime an email went out. so we deleted all my unused devices. ( there was 2 copies of my phone from flashing)
2. In the mobile admin site your exchange account is seen by an Alias. whith all the T/S steps I had been trying my alias in exchange got deleted. This does not prevent Active Sync from getting email to me but it does make it look a bit longer to find the right mailbox.
3. I noticed that I had many services trying to sync the same info this is bad. Touchdown was still running even after i tried to remove my account. Uninstalled it. Gmail is trying to sync books/calendar/contacts so i uncecked all ( I use exchange for everything)
4. Under running services I saw that attachment downloader was running in overdrive all the time. So in the account settings of the exchange account I unchecked " auto download attachments when on wifi." We email pdf's all the time they can get big and I saw that I would not get am email untill the entire pdf was downloaded. Also We use HTML email sigs, each sig is 3 attachments. After I made this change the attachment downloader service seemed to let up alot. if it didnt help me email issue it at least freed up some ram
Im not saying that anyone of these steps was the end solution to my problem but they all seemed to make things run a bit better.
Since this morning I haven't been able to get any Hotmail emails.
Also when I opened my email app on my note 2 I was missing tons of old emails and only had like 5-6 from back in july.
Earlier I know Hotmail was down but seems to be up now. I don't understand why my phone hasn't synced everything back however.
Anyone?
