I used to use this on my moto droid. I don't remember where I got it from, I copied the keyboard pngs out of some theme and put it on this vanilla 2.1 android keyboard.
Its a sweet dark black keyboard that almost appears to have glowing edges. Haptic feedback and sound works.
all you have to do is, boot to recovery and start a command prompt. go to partitions menu and mount system.
at the prompt enter this
adb push VoiceSearchWithKeyboard.apk
adb reboot
then when you get to a box where you can enter text, long press, then select Input Method
Then select Android Keyboard. Done.

the file ended up being a little to large to post here...
The .gif runs about twice as fat as animation
-instuctions; download and flash .zip from memory card or extract bootanimation.zip and adb push
DOWNLOAD
I recommend nandroid just in case something goes wrong or you want to revert back

Sorry, got a little excited there.
...now where's a napkin?
!!
Dude where's the sound ??
I was exited, but then quickly disappointed at the fact that it does not fill the entire screen.
Best Bootanimation so far! Thank you
This is using the framework from cyanogenmod, so you can try with other vanilla roms but I'm not so sure it would be successful.

Download .zip
Put on /sdcard/
Open MetaMorph
Press Start Checks
Choose Unzip/Extract new theme
Find cmlock.zip that you put on your sdcard
Apply All
Press Continue
Then it should ask you to reboot.
I have noticed that when you apply this lockscreen it reset's your wallpaper.

Hi
as icons of the bat we were left wanting to change something else, I have been trying since and this is the result, as has always been mounted on the Gb Wolf_Xperia_6 rom 2.3.3 for anyone that interests you, do not know if may use other rom, I hope your comment to know that it works or not, it's my first job, so do not be too demanding.
to install you have to be root and have xRecovery, so we'll have to restart the terminal and start the xRecovery, once on the main screen select Partition tools, and here we selected (which see) Mount / Mount System and / data , and we look for the Install custmer zip the folder where you have previously saved on the SD, installed, we went to the main screen and Reboot phone, a few seconds (can be a bit more than usual lake) the new taskbar appear, and you're enjoying it.

As seen here you can get the files to add the Google L stock keyboard onto your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2796129
you have to manual install.
1. extract all files.
2. move the ''LatinImeGoogle.apk'' to /system/app; long press on APK, choose change permissions, now make the ticks like in attached picture.
3. move the ''libjni_latinimegoogle.so'' to /system/lib; like above, long press, & change permissions.
4. reboot system, then go to settings & activate keyboard

Edit: There is an even better guide by @Goody68 HERE.
Root IS Needed.Go over to this thread and download WizIconizer by @sabeersas, and click thanks while your there.
Get your icons from the Play Store.
Open up WizIconizer and long press on the icons you want, it will show a preview screen, just press back once, then apply.
It'll ask you to reboot, you can reboot now, or press back and go to the next steps before a reboot.
Download the theme you want from the theme store.
Before you apply it navigate to /data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson/ using a root browser.
Or a root FTP server like I'm using.Find the file for the theme you want.
Open it as a text file. Find the "appicon" line. Delete the whole line and save the file.
You need to reboot once before applying the theme.
Thats it!
That awesome thanks ?
