Been looking for a "stand alone" way to play .swf file extension movies and games. I found a player a while back for my HERO that would do this by using the flash lite portion that was integrated with browser. This player won't work with the EVO for some reason. I've installed flash 10.1 on my EVO and the browser will play flash content just fine while online but I want to play this stuff as stand alone.
I've done plenty of searching here and on the web but no answers yet.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I have both these programs on my TC, but I can't see any videos! I know that IE has to be used to use adobe, but it switches to opera when I go to youtube, and it says I need the flash player. Then I read about this blueray high def mobile player on another thread so I put that on too. Didn't do a damn thing. Can anyone tell me the problem and if it will work how to make a cube button to open it??
You need the TCPMP player installed first. Then install the flash bundle in the same place where you installing the TCPMP player, that is storage card or the main memory for both.
Now go to the YouTube site using PIE and click on a video link. The TCPMP player should start playing. In fact for this procedure you really don't need the Adobe flash.

Is that a player that plays files or is that just a pluggin?
If it is a player where is it instaled and how do I run it?
Flash player 7 just allows you to see flash content while browsing internet and is not a stand alone player. It is not an embedded player to view actual video on a website, just flash powered ads/banners things like that. Skyfire browser will allow you to watch flash videos online. To just play .Flv files you need a player like Tcpmp or Coreplayer.
do you want to play swf files?
Phone: HTC 6800
Provider:US Cellular
Windows Mobile 6.0
How do I play other video formats? Also i cannot go to youtube and view those videos either, or videos in general such as those from lorouchepac.com in the LPACTV sections.
Doesnt seem to want to play MP4s or anything.
Playing video on a 6800 mogul.
Harris,
Go on, search, download and install "TCPMP" media player. It will play lots of media types. There is an associations list so you can set what types of media you want it to work for. It will work before Windows Media player if you have one set for this. If you want WMP to work instead, uncheck the box for the particular file type. Also, you can download an application from Youtube to play the videos from the phone. Mine works quite well. hope this helps.

My fiancee has an iPhone 4, and the other day sent me a video by email.
The file came over as a .mov file - which I couldn't play.
I had a search, and I read that RockPlayer played .mov files on Android, so I downloaded the demo. It gave me an error when trying to play.
I thought it was maybe because the video had been edited in the iPhones iMovie - so I had her send me another one that wasn't edited.
It produced the same problem.
Has anyone successfully managed to play a .mov file from an iPhone 4 - and what program did they use?
I'm trying to play them on an HTC Desire HD if that makes a difference?
rockplayer 1.6.1 works
Hey there,
I've used Rockplayer 1.6.1 - the full version, and it plays a 2MB clip from an iPhone4 user's email. My issue is that I'd love to permanently associate rockplayer with the filetype in Root Explorer.
I also find that 'opening' the file directly from the mail client is a no-go. I only got it to work after saving, then using RPlayer to navigate to the file.
good luck!
edit: and I just noticed - I have the same phone, Telus edition in Canada, unlocked, rooted on RCmixHD ROM 6.1.0.1
Same problem with iPhone messages
I downloaded rockplayer (lite) and meridian, neither play .mov from an email attachment. I also don't see a way to save the video attachment locally. How are you able to do this?
Using a new Nexus S.
Thanks
Shannon
download mov
OK. I downloaded an app called "Download All Files" from the Market. Now I can click an attachment, choose download, and it gets saved to my downloads. Then, I use Rockplayer lite to browse to Downloads, and play the file. Note: I had to choose software decoding in rockplayer.
Hope this info is useful.

I can confirm MX Player works flawlessly for this purpose. None of the rest of players suggested in this thread worked, however.
title pretty much says it all, trying to view some videos sent to me via MMS from an iphone and they wont play. ive tried multiple video players: Mplayer, arcsoft, vplayer, rock player, act 1 player, yxplayer, and a few others i cant remember. i've tried to use other forums/threads to get an answer and nothing seems to work. what do you guys suggest?
try MoboPlayer
Moboplayer
moboplayer would help...but if rock player cannot play it, i guess your file has been broken while passing to your phone..
