Hi,
There is a somewhat different app on the Market, in the Health section. Its called SpotMole and allows you to take a snapshot (or use an image preloaded in your phone's gallery) of a skin spot/mole that bothers you. Next it runs an analysis (image processing + pattern recognition) to attempt to determine if the mole is safe, or presents some signs or potential to become malignant. It is based on well established dermathological features assessment, and achieves above 80-85% true positive/negative rates. It has its limitations, but before seeing a doctor it may be a useful tool for a quick in-home check.
Give it a try !
Cheers
PS: You can download Spotmole from the Market
Hey Guys,
I review Android Apps for AndroidGuys & I am looking for new & interesting Apps to review.
I am mostly looking for utility's but if there are any cool games etc, I am still very interested in taking a look at them.
Hi,
I would be very happy, if you could have a closer look at "Locus". I am not the dev, but I am doing some promotion here on XDA.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907430
Locus is a GPS mapping application. Altough it is very succesful, it is still some kind of "Secret Tip".
With its powerful features, the great support on the forum and its continious development, it is more than an alternative to Google Maps. Some great addons and the perfect UI (maybe difficult for new users, but great if you are used to it) makes Locus an essential GPS app for everybody carrying an Android smartphone.
If you need more informations, don't hesitate to contact me!
Cheers, berkley
I'd love it if you would give OVERVI3W a review.
OVERVI3W is a full logging, security, tracking and control suite.
OVERVI3W free include most security features and basic tracking that most other charge for.

Is someone using "MyScript Notes Mobile" (by VisionObjects) on the GNote 10.1?
It's available on SamsungApps only and after having seen some video about it, I think it is very similar to S-Note. Maybe it's intended as an advanced version of S-Note (probably VisionObject is behind the S-Note default app too).
But does it really offer some advanced functionality (with respect to S-Note)? If so, which ones? Is it worth the price (€ 8 in Europe)?
UPDATE (june 7th, 2013)
=================
MyScript Notes Mobile isn't available in the SamsungApps store but has switched to Goggle Play (here)
Can't find it. Link?

Here's VisionObject's page, and here's SamsungApps page (this last link could be dependent on Samsungapps choosen country)
Got this few days ago and pretty impressed with it so far. Handwriting recognition is excellent, way better than snote and seems to handle things like capital letters, spacing and punctuation much better. Fairly limited options in terms of pen types, colors, templates, backgrounds etc, but if the main thing you want is handwriting recognition then this is definitely the app for you.

I cannot find it. Not available in US?
Q) Why can’t I find MyScript Notes Mobile for my Android device on Google Play?
Though the OEM version of MyScript Notes Mobile can run on a very wide range of devices, we have decided to launch the Android public version first on the “Samsung Apps” store (a list of supported devices can be found at the end of this FAQ) and will be expanding to Google Play shortly. Due to the great variety of Android devices available, it’s very important for Vision Objects to choose carefully which ones we decide to support to ensure that the user experience is optimal. Indeed a poor screen sensitivity associated with a slow processor would not be recommended for this type of application. We are currently evaluating devices and will be making MyScript Notes Mobile more widely available as this process takes place.

I ve been using it on my note for a while and it's been the only note taking application I've found at all useful.
The interface and functionality are relatively primitive but the hwr function is excellent, easily as good as a messagepad (yes, twenty years ago but still the gold standard and benchmark). If it added pattern recognition (like addresses etc), incorporated my script calc and exposed itself to the search interface it would be the phenomenal app.
I would say it's definitely worth €8, that's just the price of a drink eh?
How does this compare with LectureNotes?
Lecture notes doesn't have writing recognition so they have completely different purposes. 7 notes might be what you're looking for it's a keyboard of sorts which uses hwr so you could use to input material for lecture notes I guess
Samsung's stock input method has handwriting recognition. So as long as the app can accept Textual input, it can, thru Samsung's IME, have writing recognition...
I've tried it yesterday and it's not bad. I especially like the possibility to handwrite and later to convert the handwritten text in regular text input. However, the software is VERY limited in customization options, and I cannot see myself using it for anything else than quick list-making.
It's quite frustrating to see that everything necessary to make the ultimate notetaking app exists, but in different apps... Imagine a notetaking app with the customization and versatility of Lecturenotes, the vectorial input + OCR capabilities of Myscript Notes, and the shape + formula recognition of S-Notes... THAT would be awesome and I would gladly pay north of 20$ for it.

I perfectly agree.
There should be a joint venture between acadoid (developer of Lecture Notes) and VisionObjects (developer of My Script Notes Mobile, but I think this is also the actual (ghost) developer behind S Note in collaboration with Samsung) to create the "perfect" and ultimate note taking app.

That link does not go to a place that you can get the app from. It only goes to a thread that talks about the app and has some links that seem to be for language packs but they are of no use if you can't get the app. There is a link to visionobjects.com in this thread, but to try and get it you are sent to Samsung Apps and it is not listed there. App sound interesting but is not available.
try this:

I think that the apk posted (or better hinted to) in the link above is not the same thing as the one presently commercialized.
If I remember well the apk was extracted from some other tablet (Lenovo ThinkPad?) where it was a system app.
Probably the one sold now in SamsungApps (designed for Samsung devices and with recent updates - last one is v.1.2.10.454, size 10.97MB, dated Jan-11-2013) is a different thing.
In any case I agree that SamsungApps is a real headache.
Some apps are sold in some national stores and not in others and there's no understandable reason for that. I can access this app in Italy and the price is €8.
Anyway here's some explanatory lines taken from VisionObject site (this faq)

The “Samsung Apps” store does not permit for time being to host paid applications for the USA...

You can also unzip the file and install the apk yourself. That's what I did and it's working perfectly on my device.
Hi guys.. first of all i'm new to android dev and this forum. so excuse me for any mistake.. The reason im posting here is i had an idea for an app i always felt need about and couldnt find on play store. I call it irevise.
Its a simple notes making app for students(yes there are many) but with a change. A homescreen widget with additional features to make it easy and convenient to revise/memorise the study material. am studying myself and so had started this project.. have got it into a decent app as of now for my use but there are many additional features to be added, and due to lack of time/expertise/funds i may never complete them all.. so came up with the idea of opensource. Ive released it under Apache license 2.0 on sourceforge. sourceforge.net/projects/irevise/
Invite you all to come and develop together to make this into a cool app
Am providing brief info below for anyone intrested..
Description
Well we all sweat trying to learn those nasty chemical formulae, or the weird biological names or maybe some antonyms and synonyms.Whatever it is anything which can make us learn our books better is just a boon. And when it happens automatically, its just amazing. This little appdoes exactly that. Now quickly make your own small notes for things you feel are difficult to learn.Save in the tiny I revise app,and add the widget. And it makes the notes available on your home screen so they cross your eyes every time you unlock your phone. And they get changed automatically so you get them all... Simple huh? Yes but very effective!! And with so many exciting features lined up it could end up as a really awesum tool.. So why waiting, lets code it !!
Features
Quick Revision Tool For students
Supports android 2.3+
Homescreen Widget (Auto Updating)
Backup/Restore Notes (to be added )
Share Notes (to be added)
Study Circle (to Be added)
Inviting everyone to work on the features mentioned and any extras which may be useful.. Also haven't been able to publish on play store as my old account was suspended by google(dunno why) and i dont have an additional card.. so apk also available there only...
its a nice oppurtunity especially for newbies like me to improve our sills, work as a team and get a useful app built in the process.. the biggies can always practice and show off their skills too
This is my new prank app called Corrupted Calculator.
It's completely free and I already had a lot of fun with it.
Sadly Google Play doesn't promote it so it get's almost no downloads.
I would really appreciate it if someone could check it out and give me some feedback.
I'd also be happy about tips on the store description and on how to promote such apps in general!

It looks like a normal calculator but it changes the results to something ridiculous.
Play a trick on your friends who think they are the best at arithmetic.
Is your homework wrong? No, it's not! Just blame it on the calculator...
Great tool for magic tricks. There are some great ideas for easy tricks on the internet.
The settings screen is protected by a password which you can enter through the keypad.
There are endless possibilities to customize the result. Some ideas are:
- Replace it with another value by multiplying with zero and then adding your number.
- Add a random value by using the function random()
- Use round() to set the number of decimal places.
If you don't change the result too much no one will notice.
I recommend to use a long chain of inputs to make it more difficult to follow the calculation in the head. Something like: 123+456+789+101112+131415.
Create your own laws of logic, math and physics!
Of course you can use it like a normal calculator too.
Ok, kind of a good idea, works well with children and for a short time also with adults, but quickly loses its appeal, otherwise nice, cheers !!!
