Browsed the registry yesterday and found some stuff... the cam seems to have three settings for video resulotuion, high medium low, but there is only low and medium in the camera app, is there any way to unlock or whatever to be able to record higher quality (240x320 maybe??) vids? It might work fine if you run 240 mzh or more?
It seems that you can change the framerate too?

I have tried a higher resolution with a webcam app, but I don't remember the name of it. I think 320x240 still worked pretty good, higher resolutions were not really possible! So if you try to modify the registry, could you report back?!
Sure i tried some stuff yesterday, but it didnt work, ill work on it
found a way to unlock sports, burst and panorama mode in the cam app,
also managed to get 240x320 as a choise in video mode but when i select it the phone just "works" you know the round small rotating thing......
ill do some more research and then post all reg tweaks here... why havent anyone played with this before?
There is also this but it is buggy. If I remember correctly this allow to take higher res videos but the framerate is really bad.
Should be more people intrested in this...
Well i got higher res as an option in the cam app, but i think ill need a dll from a phone who supports higher res

here's my patched media_profiles.xml which improves your LG 3D video&audio recording quality.
The sound is significant improvement, i was sick of that "crispy" noise. After trying this patch you'd hear the sound is more natural.
You only need to apply these settings (replace the file in your system).
No need for additional patches or extra camera apps!
For recording on SD I recomend to use Class 6 or better, but i've made some tests on Class 4 with pretty good results as well.
That this improves:
2D and 3D video bitrate to 15Mbps
Video sound to 48kHz at 256kbps
What do I need
Your rooted LG Optimus 3D
Any file manager (eg. Root Explorer)
Download my file mediaprofiles.zip (see link below)
How do I install it
Root your phone (if not already done)
Download the file mediaprofiles.zip
Extract the media_profiles.xml from the Zip to the SD card of your phone
In your phone file manager:
go to system/etc and make a backup of your media_profiles.xml (eg rename it)
copy or move the new media_profiles.xml (the downloaded) to system/etc
Reboot your phone
Enjoy improved video & sound quality
Note that some players may still report the sound is only LQ at 24KHz 64kbps but just try it, you'll hear the difference very well

Front camera is not recording
Camera app may crash when saving video - however video should be saved correctly.

Seems to be working fine. Video is crisper in high detail areas and the bitrate in my sample video increased from 8 Mbit/s to about 12 or 13 Mbit/s.
Some weird behavior though: After I've shot a video (when I tap the Stop button) I get booted to the home screen instead of remaining in the Camera application. The video itself is fine though, no corruption or anything, but it's a bit of an annoyance to get booted.

the bug with front camera seems to be fixed,
also the crashing camera app when saving the video seems to be fixed.
I'll make some tests and if this will work fine I will post the updated MOD asap....

Had the same Problem. Had to deinstall Root explorer and update to the latest Version it worked then.

P.p. S after recorded 2 1080p video, the camera stop working
New MOD attached.
This is 2D/3D video still at 13-15Mbps
Bugs fixed:
Front camera working (with its default LQ settings)
Original Camera app is no longer crashing after saving the video
New bug:
Sound quality is normal - default, no improvement.

EDIT: ( dont be kid, you just downloaded my mod and edited media profiles.... i checked it right now... and is my custom media profiles... )
Check the original media profiles, then check my media profiles and you see the diference, and then check my media profiles with the media profiles of this mod.. the same, just edited the bitrate...
And 1 more thing about the "audio" tweak... Be carefull with that, because some phones cant handle it for any reason, and the recording will crash soon as the phone "exceed" the limit.
may sound strange, but can we have a "compromise" version?
I would love this as the macroblocking on 3D is obvious on my big TV, but my SD card isn't that fast, any chance of an 8mbps version? (for 3D, double the bitrate of stock but not so high it needs an expensive SD card)

I think you should buy a class 6 sd card, or save the camera files into internal memory.. These mods are made for the best results as we can

Is there anyway to reduce the video size of Android
You can use MX Player to see videos and change the zoom to more or less by pinching the screen, just like when viewing a picture. There is other gesture support too like changing the volume and brightness. All in all its probably the best video player for Android...
If you are by chance referring to the screen resolution to make your screen smaller for all of your Android display and not just while vieweing videos, then you need to root your phone and use an app like NOMone Resolution Changer

Oh I see! Sorry about that haha!
There are many apps you can use for video file conversion similar to how you would do it on a PC. One such app is Video Compressor, but you can search for many on Play Store if you type in keywords like 'video file size reduce' or 'video converter' etc.
However, if you are sharing on Whatsapp then it automatically reduces the size greatly and before sending and it happens quite fast somehow as opposed to using a video converter. There is no apparent loss of quality as long as you are seeing that video on a phone screen I suppose. If I want to share the video on something other than Whatsapp, what I usually do is Whatsapp it to myself to another phone or to my brother's/friend's phone and then share that file.
I really think Whatsapp has a very good and fast video converter built into their app which they should offer separately!
steps to reduce the video size
1. After installing Video Converter Android on your device, launch it and import the video you would like to shrink. After you select the video, tap the Convert option at the bottom of the screen.
2.Select Manual profile to convert the video and reduce the resolution, bitrate and FPS of the video. The recommended settings while reducing the size of the video is 176×144, 800 and 23.98 respectively. Leave every other settings as it is and convert the video.
The tool will process the video and reduce its size considerably. If the receiver will view the video on the device itself, he will hardly notice the reduced quality. After the conversion is complete you will see the video in the Android Gallery from where you can share it on WhatsApp or at any other social network.

Hello Guys,
I wanted to ask the team if someone knows if it is possible to push the one+ ones video bit rate bejond 100mbit/s.
I'm currently using cm 12 with camera fv5, which allows recording h.264 4k with 100mbits, which looks really really great. i love the camera of the one+.
is it possible to mod the media profiles or the codec to achieve more than 100mbit? i think the emmc memory would be fast enough, maybe the cpu wouldnt do it.
maybe someone can explain me where the limit resides?
as far as i know, there is NO other smartphone capable of 100mbits DCI recording, i also couldnt find a digital camera doing this at 30fps.

hi guys can anyone tell me is it possible to record a normal video in 120 fps in my mi4 mobile.
Because i need that to use it in my editing program to slow the video.
My camera is able to record only at 30 fps and its not enough for the editing software to render smooth slow motion video, that i intend to create.
so as per the research i did, i came to know that i need to have a normal speed (real-time) video recording in 120 Fps.
so what should i need to do to increase my mobile's Fps.
