browser supporting flash. skyfire doesn't - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

Hello. I've read that skyfire supports flash. The thing is that every site i enter that requires flash,i got every time the message "this website requires flash player" so skyfire cant handle flash in is full purpose. Is there any alternative? Thanks

your right in saying SkyFire supports flash but its Android 1.6 that doesnt support it, we'll have to wait till 2.2 comes for the X10

Skyfire as a web browser, doesn't actually support flash. The server that renders the web pages that send them to your browser for viewing does. Skyfire's functionality has nothing to do with the x10 being on 1.6 versus 2.2 with NATIVE flash support.
Skyfire works fine on my x10, and use it all the time to watch videos. However, having said that, not all sites are supported by Skyfire. Also, Skyfire does not work as per the norm when trying to view video. An example of this is when I go to Youtube, Break or other video sites. I can click on a video and go to the videos page. However, I get the message that I need adobe flash player where the video is. BUT! if you hit the menu button, you'll see a "video" tab in the bottom left. If you click that, it will play the video. Now as I said, not all sites are supported by Skyfire. A few of your favorite porn sites just wont work

Try pornhub or keezmovies.....yummy!!!!

Streaming videos on HTC Fuze

Good Evening,
I recently seen an advertisement for www.joost.com, where you can stream some full length movies to a mobile phone. It was tested with an AT&T Tilt using skyfire. Well...I downloaded skyfire, just to find out there is no support for vga screens just yet.
Are there any mobile browsers that will allow streaming video, or maybe a plugin for opera mobile??
Thanks gang!
Two side notes,
I had heard Opera was capable of playing music built into a myspace page, etc with an included flash player. Mine does not however, am I missing anything?
I had also heard the Fuze was supposed to have a dedicated You-tube application. I also have not found this. Again, am I missing something?
Thanks!

skyfire does work on vga it just messes up when you rotate the screen so start it in wichever direction u want the screen to be
use orb you can stream any media from your computer to your phone its free
and you can download the youtube app search on here
Skyfire will load, but how would I manage to get to a website without an OSB or the physical keyboard(which would mess up the screen)
I only want it for that one website...opera is fine for everything else
As soon as i enter in a website with the osd...it messes up the screen.
Any ideas?

Possible to mask the G1 browser?

Hi!
In the UK we have a website called iPlayer where you can access all of BBC's content from the previous week.
This website is available to two mobile phones, the Apple iPhone and the Nokia N96.
The way this is made available to the iPhone, is that the iPlayer website detects that it is been browsed from an iPhone, and therefore it gains access to streams that are encoded in 400Kbps H.264 video, 116Kbps AAC audio format, which the G1 should also be able to handle perfectly. However, when I try to browse to the iPlayer website I am prompted to download Flash, which the regular desktop version uses.
Now, I believe that there is three solutions to this:
1. Wait for BBC to enable G1 users to access the iPlayer the same way as the iPhone out of the box. - Ideal, but likely to take some time.
2. Mask the G1's browser to look like the iPhone's Safari browser - Best solution at the moment.
3. Wait for flash to arrive - Not ideal, you will get a format on the video that is encoded for PC users, and will probably even be unplayable on the G1 due to the high resolution on the video.
As most people would agree, we should try to mask the G1 browser as the iPhone Safari browser, I am not so much into the world of web browsers, so I do not now how to do this. I understand that we need to change the signature of the browser, but I don't have a slightest clue on how to do so.
Therefore I ask the know-it-all's here on the xda-dev forums!
link to the BBC iPlayer teams blog about iPlayer on iPhone:

Thanks a lot!

edit:
It seems that if you use the third-party browser 'Steel' you can choose what to mask it as, however, there seems to be no video streaming capabilities in Android?
The webpage loads as if it was on the iPhone, but when you try to select a episode, nothing happens...
i believe the steel browser in the apps can do this. correct me if im wrong.

You are correct, Steel allows you to pretend the browser is the iPhones, G1's, or Desktop.

OPERA HD2 and Youtube

Hi to all
I bought HTC HD2 two days ago and i don.t know why i Can not watch movies from youtube using the opera.???Is that possible.?
use the youtube application in start/youtube
opera 9.7 does not support flash the way it should but they say opera 10 will
If you want a browser with full flash support (YouTube and everything), get Skyfire.
It's not better than Opera overall, but it's nice to have different options that cater to different needs.
in hd opera when a you tube link was clicked you tube application used to get autolaunch ...
but this never happens in opera of hd2 ..........
but in internet explorer you tube link open in you tube application ............
so any work around for opera of hd2 to launch you tube application when you tube link is clicked ..
Youtube works in Opera and it is fully functional (plays in the broser, with full screen and zoom function), you just need to activate it with a patch:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544770
Also allows to play videos from other Flash-enabled web sites.
I don't recommend Skyfire unless you are in the US.
Skyfire uses servers to give you the content and they are often slow, from the wrong country (DRM issues) or just not available.
You can test skyfire, but for me it didn't do the trick.

[Q] m.youtube.com doesn't work anymore?

hello,
i have an omnia 7 and since a few days the m.youtube.com site does not work anymore. it opens the site, but there is no video to play (though it displays the video description and a sign where it says "video is loading"). then it redirects me to the desktop site (i think) but the screen stays white.
anyone has the same problem?
hm.. it works fine for me on my Mozart. I see the website, I see the video and if I click it, the youtube app opens and plays the file.
You could try using the HTML5 streaming - WP7 can play MP4 movies embedded in HTML5 <video> tags, and YouTube supports this - by going to http://youtube.com/html5 and opting in (on your phone). I usually use the desktop mode, which didn't launch in the (kind of lame) app anyhow.
hi i had this issue before on the address bar try https://m.youtube.com in other words the secure HTTP "HTTPS" for one reason or another the HTTP dint work for me.
I had the same problem, and manually specifying the HTTPS protocol worked for me.

how do i pretend my browser is running in an iDevice?

On my iDevice, I can watch videos and the website serve them up in mp4 format. I've use safari and chrome without any problems. Videos load quite fast.
But now I'm on android (cm10), the same website wants me to use flash and from what I've read in another thread, flash on android can be slow and I need to use specific browser.
So my question is: how do I make the website serve me videos in mp4 format so I don't need the flash plugin. Thanks
PS. Not sure if this is even possible or maybe the website was serving me HTML 5?
