Wifi and the Jasjar/xda exec

Can someone please tell me how I can use the wifi on my existing wireless network. The device is finding the network, but every time I try to open internet explorer, it automatically uses the GPRS connection!!!!
XDA Exec
also, can someone tell me how to deal with the device freezing up. It keeps freezing and I have to do a soft reset, about 6 times a day. I have not added any software...
1. Go to configure network adapters in settings and select "Internet" (My & Wireless network interface connects to) then secect the wireless adapter.
2. I would do a hard reset and replace it if the problem presists

Can't open internet while plugged in to pc

Even though I've told ActiveSync to "Allow wireless connection on device when connected to the destktop", it doesn't work, my smartphone SP5m connected via USB on my pc keeps telling me "Check your connection/network settings" whenever I need internet access and won't open any web pages or internet applications, why?
Under Connections settings, I usually have 2 options, either "Auto-detect settings" or "Select network" which has "The Internet" selected. But none of them works
And what's the difference between those network presets (The Internet, Work, etc)?
Thanks to all!
highmighty
go to setting\connections\usb to pc and deset advanced network funcionality
No matter if "advanced network functionnality" is enabled or not, it's the same, internet won't work when my SP5m is plugged in via usb. It's surely working fine though using WIFI... any other thoughts anyone?
Thanks
Just tested, same problem here and the weird part, it works if connected with a Bluetooth connection
i have that problem too.. connected to the laptop there is no internet connection with cabel but over bluetooth..
funny thing: if i connect to the desktop computer it does work with cabel
same security software (avira antivirus and pc tools firewall)
if anyone find a solution for that i'd be very glad. the problem itself doesnt matter as connection over bluetooth is more important to me but i just cant stand how illogical it is..

Wi-fi connection in the connections tab

Hi, I am using a Spectec wifi card to receive mails and navigate when i'm at home, and a data gprs connection outside. Since the wi-fi connection does't appear on the connections tab, is there a simple way to switch between them?
What i am doing now, is change the "work network" (which is configured for gprs) to "my isp", which is not configured at all, get a few connection error messages, and then the phone discoveres the wifi and connects to internet. But it's rather complicated and not ellegant at all.

Problem with internet sharing connection settings

I apologize if this has already been addressed. I looked, but couldn't find anything.
Here's my problem. I have a Tilt 8925 and WMWifi Router. My internet sharing connection settings are through Media Net. I have used this connection method for many months. Well, today, I connected my laptop through the WMWifirouter and everything was fine for about 5 minutes. Then my connection was lost, and upon trying to re-establish my connection, I notice that the internet sharing connection is trying to connect through AT&T ISP or something like that. I have repeatedly tried to switch it back to Media Net, but it keeps kicking back to the ISP setting. I have no way of connecting through ISP so, what happened and how do I fix it?
Thanks in advance!
Not sure if this is related or not. I never really paid attention to these settings before, so I can't say. If I look under the wi-fi connections settings tab on my phone, it brings up Configure Network Adapters. It is set to Virtual Ethernet Intermediate Miniport.......under that there are a whole bunch of other things. If I try to change it to IEEE 802.11b/g Compatible Wi-Fi Ad......, it appears as if it accepts the changes, bbut I then go immediately back into the settings and it is back on the virtual ethernet setting. Shouldn't I be able to change it, and could this possibly be why I can no longer connect using the WMWifiRouter?
Any help at all, please???!!!!
Even just a response of I'm not sure is better than no response at all.

hTC pro touch 2 wifi router running...but cannot connect to internet to phone

I figured this out before finishing posting. My phone an htc touch pro 2 unlocked to boost cdma unlimited with energy rom windows 6.6, I ran the wifi router app and it would say...connected, but, my pc would be able to get to the internet [it shows connected to...] Next, I tried to enabled the windows zero configuration by right clicking on the wireless strength bar and then I was able to click on the little pc screen that blinks when it is connecting to the network and it opened the screen with all of the wireless networks available, last I double clicked on the htcpro2 essid and it asked for the pass, but before it worked windows poped up with a window that said "your computer does not allow connection to ad-hoc networks...blah" and it explained how to do this [enable connecting to ad-hoc networks] after this was done, I connected to the network and it worked. If my instructions aren't clear then mess around with the settings until it worked. You can also ipconfig in Run>cmd>ipconfig to see if your pc acquired an ip.
htc pro Wifi router
Hmmm...sounds like an overprotective setting on the PC. I don't seem to remember the XDA Wifi version saying anything about being Ad-hoc. Could be wrong though...
