I've turned off the option 'Capitalize first letter of sentence' in Input options, but it's still doing auto-capitalize when I'm sending SMS messages.
Does anyone know a way to make it stop doing it?
Thanks in advance.

Start - Settings - Input - Options, untick "Capitalize first letter of sentence".

every time i type a period, it wants to capitalize the next word, i disabled the option not to capitalize but obviously there are settings in windows that don't do a damn thing and appear to be there for no reason, why is the option there if it doesn't work!

Rooted and ran ruu....updated and now I get the annoying vibrate when I hit a number on the dial pad. Seen posts elsewhere about it. Anyone else confirm? Am I missing a setting somewhere? (and yes vibrate is off on typing input) I was pretty sure that when I first got the hero it did not have that feature. If that is how HTC does updates then ewww. If there is no setting someone please remove it in a ROM!

Wow you're right.....! I'll have to look in to removing that for a future release of fresh rom. It was for sure not on there before, but I did post in my thread that changes in the files (even though small) were made to every single stock app.

ok maybe i = nub, but the only vibrating feature i have found on phone and in manual is for the typing input, which is already off. Where is the haptic feedback option? i have looked through every setting at least a dozen times....maybe i just have setting blindness

Settings>Locales & Text> Touch Input>Text Input> Vibrate when typing
That's just the setting for when you use the keyboard. The keypad is different and it wasn't like this pre-update. It's a bit laggy and annoying.
I agree, been anxious to see what/if HTC says anything about the *new* feature....and thanks flipz for takin a look, and other devs for their awesome work on roms!
you can download "Spare Parts" from the market and turn off haptic feedback from there. May or may not help your issue.
Unfortunately spare parts does not disable it...doh
/bump!
With all the juicy ROM talk and requests....since the MR the vibrating dial pad is horrible. #1 on my list for what I am looking for in a ROM.
Any updates on how to disable vibrating dialer???
It is part of the Sprint RUU update. As far as I know there are no manual options to disable it from a user stand point The devs might be able to find a way to disable it im not sure.
I have SMS Delivery reports on with my HD2, as it is nice to ensure someone did get your message...
Since updating to the 166 ROM I sometime seem to get two delivery reports for one sent message. Which is a bit of a pain as my phone registers them like a text and will beep and vibrate. So usually I send out 4 texts at lunch time, and my phone will beeps 6 time while I am working.
I assumed I have a new message or a reply, but it is just delivery reports. Also Sense will display a message just saying “Delivery Report” which I have to manually delete or scroll past just to read my normal messages.
It is starting to bother me now. My old phone just put a small icon at the edge of the message if it had a delivery reports.
I know a lot of people are bothered by this... if I could fix it myself I would.
But could someone make a fix to:
1. Ensure reports don’t trigger any ring or vibrate.
2. Don’t display a “Delivery Report” message in Sense2.5
3. Delete itself after 48 hours, so it doesn’t clog up all my texts.
I’d be really grateful.
AFAIK it's simply the way it has always worked in WM.
"sms reports eraser" worked this out on my diamond but isnt working anymore for hd2

If you disable the HTC messaging by default WM sms client, the report eraser will be working again.

Hi There.
I've googled myself blue... But I can't find a solution to this issue I'm having so I might be the ONLY one.
But I'm sure you guys know of this little button at the bottom that says "Send Text" when you have an incoming call. Do you guys have any idea how mad it's driving me. I'll get a call and pull the phone out of my pocket and I seem to always place it in such a way that when I grab it I press this button, ending the call, and starting up the messaging app.
Is there a way to disable this button? I'm sure I remember something about it in the manual or something, but I just can't find it.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks!

Hey there!
I know that there is another topics about notifications registry, but no one about this in particular.
I need to change the value that corresponds to the time the notifications stays on screen. Toast notification. I want it, instead leaving after a few seconds, stays there until I dismiss it manually.
Anyone know how can I do this?
Thanks!

Hi,
Let me know if this was what you are looking for:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\NotificationToast]
"Disabled"=dword:0
"Category"="Notification"
"Sound"="\\Windows\\Alert-05.wma"
Change it to 1, even the sound can be altered
Regards, ansar
That disabled all notifications.. I don't to disable toast. I want them to stay on my screen until I manually dismiss it (sliding it).
Do you know how?? ;/

Hi,
Even in user.hv of newest ROMs there is no more setting
You can test if it works to add "Timeout"=dword:20 when "Disabled"=dword:1
Regards, ansar
I tried. Nothing ;/

Nop! Maybe this is for alarms or something like that. No effect here.
Hi,
I was just wondering the same...
Toast notifications gone too fast.
I have searched in registry for "toast"
maybe found it!
HKLM\Comm\Connectivity\wifiSplashUX\Toastinterval=600000
This is probably for wifi.
But we are close now.

Seems only the GB sense roms have this issue... anyone know of a fix?
Thanks
Download Go SMS. Under services (or something? one of the last two options) go to the bottom and change message order from something like "time received" to "order received" the times will still be wrong but your conversation will at least be in order..
Or try Handcent I'm sure there is a similar feature
try SMS Time Fix from the market. It worked for me when I was on GB. Its free too!!
thanks!!!

I don't see why it wouldn't work, it orders everything based on when you received it and not the time.. I tried both last night and they still worked for me..
