thank you alan
market on cm 6 rc1 did not work for me, so i'll try this one

thx a lot for your hard working , alan ! ^^

The rom is also suitable for this new radio?
Thanks alan

no as you can see - have not tested on the new radio yet - give me a couple days to try and get it working fine on new radio using WG kernel port and well see what happens!

alan , can u guide me to make a bootanimation.zip ?!
i can't connect my device with sdk & i don't like bios boot so much !
But i don't know how to make bootanimation which can install directly in recovery.
Sr for my bad English
thx a lot again , guy ^^

replace the bootanimation.zip
there is no bios boot animation with this rom
if u have problems with this rom
run :
fastboot erase system -w
in fastboot usb mode
this is due to the cm backup script backup and restore old gapps from an old rom
I have included them with the rom - so that will make sure to put the correct ones - will remove the update script in future version

Can't wait for the NR release Alan, thanks for the hard work.

Should I wipe if I'm coming from your 2.1 mod Alan ?

You mean to say that even the camera is working with 32A now?? This would make it worth to revert to the old SPL/Radio

would recomend you do a fastboot erase system -w and just restore whatever you need with titanium backup
yes the camera works fine - as does the voice search

a fastboot erase system -w
use it with sdk programe ?!
but when i use sdk , my phone can't do anything !

Hey guys, thank you for your hard and non stop work.
I can't find the download link?

yes use it with the sdk program and then after doing that in fastboot power off and boot into recovery and install the rom
otherwise the rom may backup the old Google Apps and cause some problems - I will fix this in next version - just an oversight that I did not remove the backup scripts in cyangen mod

Is this themed? The problem with so many great roms is that it's becoming too many to skin for. Wish the themes were universal.

Hi Mi|enko,
It is NOT themed.
One of the main goals of this ROM, is to inspire more Rogers themes! Between my work, Soulifes and KB7SQI's ... we are launching a theming campaign for these Rogers builds.
Please feel free to join is w/us ./

On my Dream, I used SL's roms explicitly. I love the Rogers builds and have just had overall better luck with them. I'll be using this rom regardless, I'm just going to be patiently waiting for a black taskbar. lol

Yea,
We're gonna pump some themes out. Rogers doesn't get enough love. So soulife and KB7SQI and myself, regardless of the fact we have similar ROM's are hopefully going to be collaborating on getting themes out. Themes that will hopefully work between each others ROM's, thus "spreading the love".
Black statusbar w/whiteclock will definitely be something we're gonna get at somepoint.

Hi johnw230873,
You've tried it in the apps as well?
The auto-rotate (orientation) doesn't work on the launcher (homescreen). But it should definitely be functioning in any other application.
Let me know.

Hmmmm.
Did you wipe before installing the ROM?
This is the only other thing I can think of to be honest with you.
If you did wipe, I would suggest wiping one more time to be sure.
Otherwise I suppose I would have to check you're logs to be certain. Auto-rotate should be working.
Let me know.

Looks like there may have been a problem in the boot image for sapphire.
I'm uploading a new version now, would you be willing to download this and try it for me~?!?
EDIT: YUP! Confirmed. MY BAD john. Uploading v1.7.2 now. Apparently the init functions didn't call the acceleratometer for sapphire. Again, my apologies, uploading fix now.

Hi RLothar,
The LED's work. They just work differently on the Rogers build.
Most notably (typically), when you receive an MMS text message. Most users will note that the LED's are not working. This is b/c the default rogers mms.apk doesn't light up the dream/sapphire-32B hw's led's on this activity.
If this is what you are basing your observations on, then what you need to do is update to rgv151's MMS.apk.
To do this, make sure you install "Better Terminal for Magic" from the Market. Then open it up and enter the following commands ...
Code:
su
expsetup
From there, select option #13, then option #3 (for rgv151's MMS), it will download. Then reboot into recovery and flash update.zip. This will give you a functioning MMS w/LED support.
If you are talking about other LED's not lighting up, then no, no1 else has noted experiencing problems with that.
Let me know.

There is some new ground being broken here, and a few bugs to still shake out but I believe that it should be pretty stable as a daily driver. Please help us out with *quality* bug reports (including logs).
It's important to know that the "DangerSPL" (or DeathSPL or Haykuro's SPL or whatever you prefer) is a prerequisite for Dream/G1 users. Magic (MT3G etc) users do *not* need to do this. Ciwrl has written a guide to installing this bootloader. Flashing this bootloader under the wrong conditions can actually brick your device, so pay attention to the guide. CM releases have always avoided this requirement, but the new bootloader frees up enough space so that no crazy hacks are required for a fully functional system, and it's easier to keep in sync with the N1/Droid releases.
What's NOT included that you'd find on a Nexus One:
* Launcher2 (too clunky for these devices)
* Stock Live Wallpapers (LWP support is there, but may not work with all LWP apps and/or performance may be bad)
* Facebook (install from the Market, contact sync works perfect, at least on Sapphire)
* Google Voice (install from Market, push notify works perfect)
* Gallery3D (too much of a memory hog)
What's included:
* Everything that goes with Eclair
* 3D, video, camera, camcorder, BT, WiFi, etc are all of course working
CyanogenMod extras:
* Can be used with or without Google applications
* Kernel 2.6.34 with Pershoot's tweaks
* ADWLauncher is the default launcher!
* Complete music app overhaul by Eliot Stocker
* New Apps2SD method implemented mostly by Chris Soyars.
* Built in USB & Bluetooth tethering
* Graphical enhancements, #boobs, and excellent wallpapers by Prash and SatanR1
* Includes BusyBox, htop, nano, powertop, openvpn, bash, irssi, and all engineering commandline utilities
* FLAC audio support from Kenny Root
* Phone enhancements from Cytown
* Contacts enhancements from Wysie
* MMS enhancements from, well, everyone (see changelog)
* Perform zipalign-on-install of applications
* DeskClock tweaks- longer autosilence and "require unlock" option
* Massive APN list
* All available locales are included thanks to PsychoI3oy
* 360-degree auto-orientation by Optedoblivion and Elanthis (enable in settings)
* OpenVPN integration thanks to James Bottomley
* Music app can respond to long-press on the volume buttons (from Metalhead)
* Many other bugfixes and tweaks from AOSP contributors
* Tons of work on the build system by Koush and Chris Soyars
* Big thanks to Zinx for debugging some really difficult issues! He really deserves most of the credit for getting this thing working so well.
* See the full CHANGELOG for all credits and details

no new radio
old radio only - no .33 kernel for new radio so I really prefer having the best kernel out atm which is this one - will not downgrade for new radio
especially since all new radio kernel > .27 is propritary blob from sanpei
Fantastic work, thanks!
will be updating this ASAP when cyan updates his as well as when adw launcher is updated
might include swype in future releases as default KB

How it was compiled:
Install Dependencies within Ubuntu Lucid Lynx:

ln -s ~/bin/repo /user/bin/repo
Get Cyanogen's Git:
Code:
mkdir ~/cm
cd ~/cm
repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b froyo
Sync Repo:
Code:
repo sync
Build:
Code:
source build/envsetup.sh
lunch cyanogen_dream_sapphire-userdebug
make clobber
make installclean
make clean
make -j4 (wait 30min-3hrs)
make -j4 otapackage (takes about 5-30min)
./vendor/cyanogen/tools/squisher (zipaligns, optimizes png's and the rom thnx to dumfuq)
Look in the out/target/product/ directory for the flashable update.zip
add proprietary libs and apps to the zip file after you extract it, rezip
make edits/tweaks
Then resign the zip with testsign.jar like this:
Code:
java -classpath testsign.jar testsign zip.zip signed.zip
Signed.zip is ready to flash

Tips & Tricks:
ttabbal said:
Just tips for G1 users, might help MT3G as well. I'm on SJ's latest, I'll try defconoi's when he uploads the fixed version.
JIT - It's helping me. You might not like it, but it's dead simple to turn on/off, so try it and see. You need to reboot for the setting to take effect. I'm not talking about MFLOPS or other benchmarks here, just totally subjective apps starting and running a little smother and faster. The browser really seems to get a kick out of it, but even without JIT, the froyo browser is much improved. RAM use does go up some with JIT, but according to the Google developers that wrote the thing, only about 10k per app. Larger apps will benefit more from it, and with most JITs, the longer the app runs, the faster it gets till it tops out. Not sure on the last bit for the Android JIT, but it would make sense as they work by profiling the app as it executes and optimizing the bytecode in the most executed code more aggressively. Note that the Froyo JIT is official, the one we were using for Donut and Eclair was not. The Froyo one is supposed to be much improved, and stable.
Swap - I have to turn it on manually right now, but it's worth it. My partition is 40MB and the system tends to top out using about 25MB of it. Helps keep things running. More is not better with swap, use sparingly if at all. Try it for a few hours or even a day before deciding, swap is notorious for starting out fast and slowing down over time. It's results depend a LOT on what apps you run and how you use your phone. So if it sucks for you, turn it off. It also seems to help a little with market FCs, but the market still crashes. Sounds like MT3G users don't have the market FCs, lucky bastards.
Compcache - The setting in "CyanogenMod Settings" doesn't work. I haven't tried to load it manually. It's never really worked well for me over time. It tends to bog down faster than swap for me. Others like it better than swap. Try it for yourself and make your own call. Again, let it run for at least a few hours before making a decision on it.
ADWLauncher - I turn off the animations and turn the delays and overshoot down as far as they will go. I also make the drawer background flat black with no transparency. Makes for a VERY fast launcher. I also set the "System persistent" option in "System Preferences". That seems to help keep Android from killing it off. Returning to home is damn near instant now.
System animations (Settings->Display->Animation) is set to "No Animations". Again, makes things faster and I get bored watching the redraws.
Just things that have helped me make Froyo a daily driver build on my G1. The current pace of this stuff is amazing. Great work from everyone involved. I haven't seen any reason to drop back to CM5. I do need to look into the BT phone audio thing though. If I can fix that, it would be near perfect.

Just finished flashing, will report back. Also, according to Cyanogen's twitter they were able to fix the camera for DS. Thanks for sharing.
EDIT: IMO, Cyanogen is probably a few days from releasing the DS Alpha version of CM6 if this is what's currently on github. Not a diss or anything, just saying this isn't something he'd be comfortable releasing.

you have a mt3g 1.2 right? if so you need to get pershoots cm based kernel for 32b. after flashing this rom you need to flash that kernel. it works for me. this also works for any dream based roms.

Sorry but I have a pooor internet connection and I try to fix a bug : the device is re-running boot sequence when 3g get activated :/
nice man, maybe we can help u to fix the bugs. i could give u a mirror!
Thanks a lot !
My current (and only for now) problem is in frameworks, with NetUtils..
Is it flashable zip, or have we flash ROM through fastboot (cant you delete recovery image then, to avoid overwriting it ?)?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
nice try!!, hope u have success!!!!
have u twitter or an irc channel?
so we can see how the development is going!
and we could help with anything!
nice job guy!
There are two methods : fastboot (boot.img & system.img) without erasing recovery and flashing via recovery, but you lost your recovery.
Twitter : @renandroid
I have actually little issues but the ROM is not really useable.. I'm gonna try to release a .zip as soon as possible
very nice.thanks !!!
python08 can you upload gralloc.qsd8k.so & copybit.qsd8k.so for bravo?

m-deejay : I took gralloc.qsd8k.so from a Nexus One build and I think I'm gonna upload the update.zip in a few hours or minutes I don't know. So just wait a little bit and I'll upload also the copybit.qsd8k

yep, i tested it, it works well, but doesnt include some of our last commits... I asked arcee to rebuild it 3 times (to use the latest recovery).... ignored sigh...
Its not a big thing, but there was commits after the 15 march (like french fixes), and only some of the devices have it inside...
http://get.cm/?type=RC Torrents : http://www.jeago.com/cm/
Remember its a "release" build, with a kernel included (179-4) ! don't flash that on Defy+ (and defy+ sbfs, Bootloader gen 6+)!
Quarx will release a build for Defy+, soon

Update question
So how do we update.....Recovery and select this file like we did when we first swapped into 7.1???
So from my experience what do we do? Do a restore file first?......do we recover/install 7.2? then restore?
Never "updated" an aftermarket OS
Paul
Waiting for a kind dev to add defy+ support

Looks like the CM blog went down, *but* the download link is back up!
As with any change of ROM, just move the .zip file to your SD card, enter recovery, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik cache, and install zip from SD card and reboot.
If you're updating from CM 7.1, you may not have to wipe data/factory reset... perhaps one of the devs can enlighten us?
whats difference bw cm 7.1 n 7.2 ??
will there b any major differences between theae 2 ?? ui or any kind...
m on wiui 1.10.28 i dis nt updated as this rom ia very good at battery...i used cm7.1 earlier but ever since i used this rom i love it

So can anybody confirm me how to "update" from 7.1 to 7.2?
If this is like the "old" WinMo days...if I RESTORE my backup...it may RESTORE system things too back to 7.1.....
Or will Google Sync services bring my device to par.

Just flash the zip via Stable Recovery. Wipe cache and Dalvik cache in case you get stuck and Reboot the device.
I use 7.2 nightly builds from here as they have the latest changes.
