Java midlet execution - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi All,
I hope one of you guys know the answer to this.
I have a java application in my home domotica system, that I would like to run from my HTC HD2. On the HD2 there is Jblend installed, and I would like to use that proggie..
now the problem is that I have an example of the startup file for jbed only, so I have to change that...
The original file has this line in it:
243#"\Windows\evm.exe" -cp "\My Documents\java\bin\eibPort.J2ME.main.jar";"\My Documents\java\bin\eibPort.J2ME.net.jar";"\My Documents\java\bin\kxml2-2.3.0.jar" de.eibport.j2me.cdc.visu.HicVisuController
I have tried about everything I can (and that is not much, but took a long time ) to make a new link file coming up with:
209#"\Windows\JBlend_AMS.exe" -I "\My Documents\java\bin\eibPort.J2ME.main.jar";"\My Documents\java\bin\eibPort.J2ME.net.jar";"\My Documents\java\bin\kxml2-2.3.0.jar" de.eibport.j2me.cdc.visu.HicVisuController
But it doesn't work, jblend keeps telling me "no such application".
Running it with java on the pc does do the trick...
I installed all the files on my storagecard in \My Documents\java
Jblend is in my windows folder....
Help
Thanks,
Bimmer

Sorry about this bump, but I still am desperate!

WMP 10 PPC 2003

Hey guys!
First I'd really like appericiate the work going around regarding the WM2003SE.
I am running the 1.72WWE on my xdaII and i read somewhere that if a cab of the wmp10 can be obtained then it can be installed on the 1.72WWE or any other wm2003 Rom for that matter by adopting the following procedure. I am posting this method as food for thought for all the geniuses around.
1. Run WMP setup
2. When error message scolding you for running an obsolete (e.g., more than two weeks old) PPC comes up LEAVE that dialog where it is
3. Go to your temp directory and make a copy of the WMP cab file
4. click OK or close or whatever the "buy a new PocketPC" nag screen dialog has
5. Copy CAB file to your PPC
6. Double-click it
7. Soft-reset (reboot) your PPC. Now you have WMP10 installed."
So if somone has the wmp 10 installer let us have it boys maybe we can give it a go.
The Dell Axim 30 has released an upgrade to WM2003SE (Can't imagine why O2 won't follow suit) and in the installer is the WMP10 anyways its a roughly 33MB download and i know the same can be done from 2.20 CHS the translated ver by buzz_lighyear (Keep at it buzz ur getting closer) but still someone may find it useful anyways here is the link

Help with PDB file?

I'm running WM6 on a wizard. I have a program which shows airfields and information about them called smart companion (attached for anyone who wants to play) which would be really useful for me as a commercial pilot. Unfortunately the associated database file is in pdb format which I was told would work on both Palm and WM (The executable is the WM version) but my wizard wont read it.
Does anyone know how to make this work or do i need a different database format? Can it be converted to the right one?
I have attached the pdb file as well.

For reading my PDB files I use a free program: OLIVETREE Bible READER: http://www.olivetree.com/pocketpc/
It has an option to read other stuff like ebooks, etc...

Thanks
Thanks for that I have downloaded it & will try it.
Ideally I would like to get the database to work with the 'smart companion' program as it allows you to add notes & shows the airfields in a proper diagramatic way.
Can pdb files be converted to work like this?
Thanks again

I am confused, are you trying to run an application made for a PALM device? If your answer is YES, try StyleTap you won't regret it: http://styletap.com
I just don't know if it is supported though. I use StyleTap to run SUperMemo for Palm. Although there is a SuperMemo for PPC but from a different company, and it sucks. The MapleTop SuperMemo software is better.
Thanks for the post cktlcmd.
The smartCompanion program has two versions. One for palm (a prc file) and one for WM (an exe file). However it only has one database file (a pdb file).
When I run the exe file on my wizard (tried it on wm5 and wm6). the programs runs fine but does not find the database. I made sure the database was in the same directory/folder as the exe file but no joy.
My mate who gave it to me reckons he knows people running it on WM and it is to do with where the database is stored but he runs it on Palm & doesn't know much about WM.
Since your post I have got it running using styletap and the prc (palm) version so I am very happy about that.
I would still very much like to work out how to use the exe version as it runs smoother (orientation changes very slowly using styletap when I want to use my keyboard and a few other minor annoyances).
Anyway your suggestion means I actually have use of the program, and I can run other palm programs if I want as well. Thanks.
Does anybody know if I have to have a pdb file in a specific folder for it to be found by a program?

Let me get this straight, when you install the PPC version it runs fine but can't find the pdb file, right? If the answer is YES, then there should be a setting within that PPC application on pointing to where you should place the pdb file. Otherwise, try the very root of the SD Card, that might be the default setting of the PPC application.

PPC Emulator

Is there an emulator for PC which can run WM6 ROM? I am working on releasing my next rom after i get the permission from Chef(Theloon) and as i am working on the next release i need to constantly flash which takes a while. So i was thinking if there is an Emulator for our device..
You would need an emulator specifically for HTC Wizard. I doubt anything like that exists...
Mirek
the best
the best one i used for my wizard is pocket nester but you gotta play with the NES rom but loe the classic games
He doesn't mean an emulator _FOR_ the PPC he means one _OF_ the PPC. And no unfortunately it doesn't exist - would be nice to have one which you could just drop an nbf into!
microsoft has something
Try this:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=38C46AA8-1DD7-426F-A913-4F370A65A582&displaylang=en
This is a WM6 emulator images directly from microsoft. I have tried it and its works just fine (useful if your creating programs for WM6). If your looking for something that emulates the htc wizard, i doubt there is any.

Usefull for testing programs, but useless as far as cooked ROM testing is concerned...

Well, just try to convert your *.nbf file to a *.bin file to open it with the emulator fyahstar mentioned. Maybe it works..
i read in the hermes forum you can dump the image (there are actually BIN files) so you can retrieve the MUI files....what would happen if you reverse that process (might have to exclude device specific things but hey its a possibility!) i am actually going to play around and see what would happen....

Dguitar, java applet:

is it possible to run this on ppc?
the online applet version:
HTML:
http://dguitar.sourceforge.net/fr/livedemo.html
the offline version as "dguitarapplet.htm":
HTML:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/dguitar/DGuitar0.3.1.v.zip?use_mirror=fastbull
the application itself:
HTML:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/dguitar/DGuitar-0.5.8.zip?use_mirror=garr
i'm new to the scene (just bought an ipaq 214).
i've read the java midlet bible, tried several combinations to no avail but
can't say for sure that it's impossible to run it on PPC, this is why i want an expert opinion.
thx in advance.
searched trough the net found nothing, there was only a single thread on this forum talking about Dguitar on ppc but no direct answer on the matter.
i tried CrEme plugin with PIE, JEODE plugin also, and nothing..
PIE can't display this applet, tried netfront 3.2 and nothing..
as far as i know opera doesn't have any workaround concerning the execution of java applets.
jbed and j9 gave me errors when i tried to execute the ".jar"..
i know that i still have to do deeper testing with CrEme to give up.
what i fear is that i messed up something on my WM install, trough heavy software installation, so all my testing could be erroneous.
i asked on this forum so i could have an answer from someone who have a clean and working java environment, if it is possible to execute this application, this application is unique because if it's working it would be the only "Guitar Pro tabs" capable application on the PPC.

Jblend alternatives

Hi guys, I'm looking for an alternatives for jblend...
I'm using it for launching my authenticator for WoW, but it's not confortable to open jblend and then every time tap the little name of the app....
Does someone known the name of a similar app more "thumb friendly"???
Better if support the lauch of the jar directly ( dunno why but jblend corrupt the file if i launch it directly)
Thank you ^^
What about Esmertec Jbed?
fail
Tried with installing esmertec jbed, but application failed to start *.jar file from wow authenticator
Win!!
Got it to work with version of Jblend. Just have to be able to open Jblend from ur programs, not from jar file
