Have a problem with rooting my G1 - General Questions and Answers

I'm trying to root my g1. I did everything by the instructions on multiple sites, but when i get to the part, after the device DREAIMG.nbh update, when i need to go to recovery mod, and do alt+l, im getting the error that says “E:Can’t mount CACHE:recovery/log" . I tryed to do alt+s, but when it started to flash it just stopped in a middle of the proces and the android got bugged, so i had to update it again so i can use it. Does any1 know why im i getting that error, i tryed multiple times, and its always the same.

Help! G1 Stuck On TM Screen... Recovery + Stock SPL Access ONLY

Ok, before you go bashing me about not using the search feature... it was takin me NOWERE ... No fun. Anyways, I have just jumped on the Rooting Bandwagon and ran in to a slight problem... or atleast i hope it isnt major After attempting to Update to JF 1.5 and Rebooting out of recovery mode, i was greeted with a looping G1 TMobile screen. In other words... Frozen. After exploring the many different topics in the search bar, i came to a grinding holt.
I have access to Recovery (home+power) and access to "stock" SPL (home+camera)
I have attempted a few different options:
Re-Installed DREAIMG.NBH but i keep getting a "No Image Found!" alert.
Updating, through recovery, with an official ROM, but am greeted with "E: Cant mount sdcard..."
I have formatted my SD card to FAT32 atleast 3 times on my MacBook... Does it have to be done on a pc? Am i missing something important?
I have a feeling that nothing is "flashed" on my G1.... I have attempted a Factory Rest or Hard Wipe several times.. with no luck.
Any help to get back to STOCK FIRMWARE would be greatly appreciated... Thanks Alot!
Bump please...
I also need help reverting back to original firmware, had jf1.42 rc33 with glossdroid theme
firstly I didnt know what I was doing, couldnt be bothered searching through 100 pages so I experimented.
I put the DREAMBH.nbh or whatever it is file onto my SD card and tried to put it through like you do when gaining root at the start of the process, but then it wouldnt load past 2nd boot screen.
I have tried wiping it numerous times to no avail and even tried installing a different SPL.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as im annoyed right now because i didnt search for a method.

Hello
Today I was upgrading to the latest starburst rom...this was not the first time I upgraded roms and i did the exact same thing I had done in the past which included wiping data wiping cache wiping dalvik and then flashing....
when i did this and restarted my phone it wouldnt load past the boot screen...after the boot animation the phone stayed black...i repeated steps 1-3 again hoping i just did something wrong...but still nothing
i went back to look at the directions and i say that the developer said to format the system under mounts and storage...in bolded font...i thought maybe thats why it wasnt working so i did just what he said...
now when i load my phone it doesnt load at all and when i open cwm i get a string if e: errors basically saying that it cannot find the drive
if anybody has any advice on how to recover from this I would be extremely greatful
Im having the same problem cant figure out how to fix it.

[Q] Can't mount SD while the phone works fine

Hi guys,
I'm having a weird problem hoping someone can solve or at least explain.
First, my phone - I9020T, stock 4.0.3 unrooted
Today i finally got 4.0.4 OTA, wanted to install it. The installation got stuck on error (attached image), and when i tried entering recovery, when choosing install from SD card i get:
" E: failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory) "
But when i start the device regularly it works fine... no crashes, no error reading from SD-Card.
One more thing you should know is i'm experiencing the "Hairdryer stuck on google logo" bug. which means when i start the device is get stuck on "Google" and i have to pull the battery and heat it under hand dryer for a few second in order it will start regularly. but it used to be okay since i managed a month ago to re-update to 4.0.3 from the recovery (while having the problem).
BTW - tried searching the forum for that problem with o

[Q] [SOLVED] Broken device with new update?

Hey guys, i have a problem.
Basically, a little while ago my phone notified me of a new OTA, and being the idiot i am, i figured "i have a backup, installing it can't hurt."
Well, essentially, it boots into recovery like it should, and informs me it couldn't verify the package signature, so i told it to ignore that and try to install it anyways, it tries to install and tells me it cant because the package target is for "falcon_umts" and this is a "xt1034", which i figure is no big deal, because it didn't install, so i boot my phone like normal, and now we run into the problem, as soon as the phone finishes loading everything, and the update checker loads up, it reboots the phone without prompting me and tries to get me to install the package, so basically, im now stuck with a phone that i cant start for more than 5 minutes without it rebooting, does anyone know what i can do to fix this? i would have restored from a previous point but it turns out i DINT have a backup ._.
Edit: I fixed it, for anyone else having this issue, i looked closer at the output and saw where it stored the update's zip file, it was in /cache, i went into recovery and just wiped cache, and now all is well, hopefully this helps someone!

[Q] Stuck in bootloop after Cyanogenmod install error

Hi folks,
This evening I decided to install Cyanogenmod on my Moto G. All seemed to go fine until I started getting "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" errors that meant I couldn't even get into any of the phone's menus. I tried to reset the phone to reinstall the ROM, but got stuck in a boot-loop where the phone won't boot to allow my PC to see it, so I can't copy the necessary files to it to re-flash the ROM. I also can't push them with ADB for the same reason.
I am stuck! Please offer any advice. Thanks!

did you install a custom theme? does your computer recognize your phone when in recovery?
Just a failed installation of Cyanogenmod. Windows can recognise the phone but gives an error when installing the driver, meaning I can't copy anything to it to re-flash.
On the phone itself, I can get into TWRP in recovery mode, but I don't know how to get files onto it to re-flash.
