PIE is working and connects through whatever means however it's not the same for quickgps. Even when there's no connection running it won't even try to start a GPRS connection. Forget activesync and wifi it's the same story. Assistance please
Make sure the quick gps service is running-it's launched by bootlauncher, and most task managers don't register it. XTask will show if it's working.
Nope, service is not running. What now?
You need this registry key.
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Services\QuickGPS]
"Index"=dword:00000000
"Info"=dword:00000000
"Module"="\\windows\\GPSAux.dll"
"Order"=dword:000000ff
"Prefix"="GUX"
Pour favour, could you place all that into a REG file for me? I'm trying to input the values but the only ones I'm sure I got are "Module" and "Prefix".
Just cut-and-paste the full code I posted (inc. the Windows Registry editor bit) into a text file. You can do it on a pc or your ppc. Then change the file extension to .reg, and import the key with a registry editor like dotfred's task manager or phm regedit.
Imported the key and soft resetted. Confirmed that the service is NOT running as per the registry entry. However, I found a "QuickGPS app service(GUX0" running with most of the settings you gave me there in the registry.
2 differences:
- it's described as "dll for icon in TodayScreen" (yes, it's bull, i know)
- and entry called "Keep=dword:00000001"
help... still nothing
Well a hard reset worked and am gonna backup all QuickGPS related registry keys, but I really doubt that it's that simple. If this problem comes again I'll likely have to do this again.
Watch this space.

Hi all.
After the trick with zerolenght dll and exefiles(Biotouch) I have finally disabled TF (ugly and jumpy)scrolling. I want to use PocketPlus feature named SmartScrolling,but that wasn't in the list of options,so I can't enable it. Today I found a solution:
1. Make a backup of registry key HKLM>Software>OEM>TFLOSettings
2.make sure the backup file is created and delete this key
3.install/reinstall SPB Pocket Plus
4.import registry from backup
5.make sure,that the value EnableScroll is set to 0
6.softresetdevice
Now you should see the Smart Scrolling option in PocketPlus settings,just enable it and enjoy.
Btw,if something goes wrong,I am not responsible for any software damages using this. My is working good.
I'm using 3 separate registry editors on my "T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2" so that i can access SPB Pocket Plus 4 Smart scrolling feature. I accessed the registry editors and I tried to delete TFLOSettings folder under HKLM>Software>OEM>TFLOSettings but every time i select the delete icon it comes up with an error saying either the access is denied or the key cannot be deleted. i dont know what to do in this situation PLEASE HELP!!!

Anyone figure out the new registry hacks on the Sprint Touch Pro that are needed (if any) for connecting with Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)?
Or is it the same as the Sprint Touch Diamond?
http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=175962&highlight=touch+pro+tether
This worked for me.
Works for me too, thanks!
Made a couple of cabs files that should make it easier
I made 2 cab files.
The first one contains the modifications to the Registry to get Internet Sharing
"internet-sharing-mod.cab"
The second on is to return the the registry to the default setting
"internet-sharing-original.cab"
Just copy the files to your Touch Pro and click the internet-sharing-mod.cab file to install.
Install to Device/main memory (don't know what happens if you choose storage card? never tried it, never will) then your done. You will be able to tether your device through Sprint with no problems.
internet-sharing-mod.cab:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
"Extension"=""
"MaxCMCon"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Status]
"Enabled"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings]
"ForceCellConnection"="Sprint"
"MaxCMConnectRetries"=dword:00000000
internet-sharing-original.cab:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
"Extension"="isext.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Status]
"Enabled"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings]
"ForceCellConnection"="Phone as Modem"
"MaxCMConnectRetries"=dword:00000000
Very easy to do:

Thanks so much for the cab files. Seems to work great. I am so tired of different hotel servers blocking outgoing e-mails. My problem was solved in moments. Again, Thanks.

After installing the cab and soft-resetting my phone I somehow am lost as to why I don't see the option of "Network Connection" --> Phone as modem:
http://www.isyougeekedup.com/how-to-enable-internet-connection-sharing-on-sprint-htc-touch-pro/
Am I supposed to install or register edit something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
The Isyougeekedup site works
I have a touch pro flashed to Cricket and all I did was delete the forcecellconnection string value and wala... it works.., of course I pay for cricket web on my phone but its nice to be able to not pay for high speed internet at home too.
the .cab files worked like a charms. thanks
Looks like this trick is no-go any more. I just received a replacement Touch Pro after mine bricked. The new one I received won't allow me to change the "Phone as a modem" value to "Sprint." It acts like it's editing it, lets me save, but when I exit and return it's back to the original value.
I've tried the .cab, PHM Registry Editor, and Total Commander with the same results.
Ah well, I never actually used it on the old phone anyway.
Edit: Just tried fully deleting the "ForceCellConnection" field. When I replace it with a value of "Sprint" it still immediately sets it back to "Phone as a modem."
When i goto the Wiki to adjust some things in my ATT Fuze Registry and on/in the Wiki instead of the HKEY prefix its HKLM. Is there something that tweaks the registry with the ATT fuze? My Fuze doesnt have the HKLM prefix keys. And is there a program that i can use on my PC that can edit the registry on my phone with out having to use the tiny stylus??

HKLM= H Key Local machine
It is just an abbreviation that is used by some registry programs and such.
There are programs that can apply some of the commonly used tweaks. You can search the forum for advanced config.

I used that whenever I made registry entries. It's a pretty good program thats extremely lightweight and gives you access to everything in the registry so you can edit it from your pc. Just connect with activesync. Just make sure you either make a backup or you know exactly what you're changing before you change it
also as a side note, some registry changes don't stick after a soft reset. If thats the case (happens when editing the registry for something thats open) power off your device by holding down the power button and reboot.
Access Fuze Registry
I am being denied access to my Fuze Registry using Mobile Registry Editor. When I try to delete a registry, it says that access is denied. I did not have this problem with my Tilt. Am I missing something?
Access denied issue
Your fuze and tilte both usually lock the registry in an attempt to prevent harmful changes when deleting or modifying certain values. But the solution is to use an internal registry editor or some other registry editor. such as the one that comes with pocket controller, if you have the cash haha, internal editing can be done with resco explorer's registry add in, again if you have the cash, but these tools are invaluable when editing your device to your preferences.
Hello,
does anyone know if it's possible to "save" w-lan settings in a cab-file, so that you only have to install it and eveything is configured. I have to change some W-Lan settings on about 100 devices and i don't want to do it manually.

Check out Sashimi at winmo-experts.com. It comes with an app called Makisu that stores your wifi config in an .xml. Just install sashimi to your sd card, run makisu and input all the wifi info like the password (assuming you have one). It's really simple to do (it will take you five minutes to create the .xml on your phone). You can either use sashimi to import the .xml, or you can use sk tools or dotFred's task manager to do it. To run it on a lot of devices easily, you might want to use sdautorun, or basically something similar to UC (user customization). I guess there may be a way to incorporate the .xml into a cab, but beats the hell out of me how to do that. Good luck with the other link, lol.
as already all cooker know that we have to assign rar and zip files to pocket rar on first launch and for that we have to press ok button which is missed in my htc touch..
so anyone know registry hack to bypass this message in wm 6.5.x????
Try this:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Setup]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Setup\.zip]
"Type"="ZIPArchive"
"Exist"=dword:00000001
"Set"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Setup\.rar]
"Type"=""
"Exist"=dword:00000000
"Set"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Paths]
"TempFolder"="\\Application Data\\Volatile\\"
"StartFolder"=""
"ExtrFolder"=""
"ArcFolder"=""
"AppendArcName"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\ListColumns]
"SortMode"=dword:00000001
"Size"=dword:00000031
"Name"=dword:0000006F
"Date"=dword:00000041
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RAR\Compression]
"UseRAR"=dword:00000001
"Solid"=dword:00000001
"Method"=dword:00000003
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rar]
@="RAR-file"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file\DefaultIcon]
@="\\Windows\\rar.exe,0"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file\Shell]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file\Shell\Open]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RAR-file\Shell\Open\Command]
@="\\Windows\\rar.exe \"%1\""
How?
how to add the registry?
I use phm regedit...
Copy it to a text file; save it with a .reg extension, and then import it with PHM; if you have .reg files associated with PHM, then all you need to do is click on the file. It will respond like a .cab file, basically. I updated the stuff above with the proper header (windows registry editor version 5.00). You need to have it at the beginning of the file for it to work.
If you use XTask, you can close the settings window by clicking on the pocket rar icon on the task bar and dragging down to the 'close' button. You need to have 'close' as one of the xtask options in settings.
Don't work
Don't work click in file .reg extension....
At the click opens the phm resgistry and nothing happens ...
What to do?
If it's opening PHM, then you just need to import the key with PHM. Not sure how, since I don't use PHM, but I'm guessing click on File-Import reg key-navigate to key and click ok.
Or, get dotfred's task manager, set it to associate with .reg keys, and use it. The reg editor is basically the same as PHM, and it has many more tools. That's what I use.
??
I dont understand... what program do you use?
