Panorama photo APP - TG01 Themes and Apps

Hello,
Is it possible to add such a feature to the camera by software? or the camera has to have some speccs for the job?
Thanks

Best way is to take many shots one overlapping the previous by a little untill you cover the whole scene and then make the stitching with some pc app. I prefer autostitch which is very comprehensive with many features if you want to go pro and know what you're doing but also can keep it simple and go with the default settings, only change output resolution to suit your liking. Personaly i hate phone's camera, reminds me of my first nokia, it had a camera but they put it there just to be a complete package and for no other reason because that thing with that piece of glass on the back was many things but camera phone was not one of them Get a real camera and get your scene, that's my advice!

How to use a PPC like a mirror !! by just pressing a button

Hello !
Like many of you, I have a PocketPC with 2 cameras, one on the front and one in the back. My PocketPC is a HTC Kaiser, by the way.
So what about using your Pocket PC as a mirror ?!
it can be use useful, just to check that your tie is well done before going to a job interview
Is it possible to start HTC Camera application with an argument so that instead of the back camera, the front camera is used ?
If yes, how ? If no, how can I achieve the same result ?
Chris
ps: I have already tried the mirror effect platisc that you can but on the PPC display. But I do not like it because then it is almost impossible to see the display when you are outside, because of amount of light reflexion.
take a picture of yourself then view it
sounds like a good idea though.. i wish my touch had a front camera.
Taking a picture is not what I want.
I want my PocketPC to act exactly like a mirror, that means, I want to see myself in live.
Do you know how to open the HTC camera using the front camera instead of the back one ?
The camera app on the Athena/Ameo lets you choose which camera to use...
I assume if you set the right registry settings before you start the app the camera app will start with the right camera.
It should be easy, some-one more motivated than I should be able to do it.

Same with the Polaris
For Kaiser (looking at your sig) open camera tap anywhere on screen the press the 'camera' button from the munu that pops up (lower bar center box on my kaiser) and it switches to the front camera. do that again to switch image and again to go back to normal camera.

I think you are missing his point? He wants the front camera selected by default
Yes, exactly, I want the front camera to be used by just pressing a button.
So that I can really use my pocket pc as a mirror.
A mirror is an easy tool, you just have to look at it.
I want the same with my pocket pc: pressing one button and just looking at the pocket pc, to see myself
I will investigate about a registry hack. If there are no way to give arguments to the HTC Camera application, it is the only way I can see.
are you really that handsome ?
Maybe to find a real mirror is easier than to find the solution with the camera
I turned my prophet's screen off, now i can see myself and even my tie easily.. my prophet turns into a mirror by one button press althouhg it has only one camera
I investigated about the registry changes to switch between the front and back camera, here is the registry controlling the settings:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Camera\5.04\Preferences\Values
This is the content of Values when using the back camera:
0f,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,90,01,00,00,90,01,00,00,40,1f,00,00,01,10,00,55,01,02,01,01,40,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,04,00,04,09,11,20,00,45,46,00,00,28,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,c0,27,09,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
and this is the content of Values, when using the front camera:
0f,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,90,01,00,00,90,01,00,00,40,1f,00,00,01,10,00,55,01,02,01,01,40,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,40,00,40,00,09,11,20,00,45,46,00,00,28,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,c0,27,09,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
The changes are displayed in bold. I know that you can change a "normal" registry, but how to change such a large number list in the registry automatically ?
I'm interested in this too... I would be great if you press for long time the camera button to activate the front camera!
Mortscript could do it.
Surur
I have tried with SKshema (which is a bit like mortscript), but the problem is that instead of using several registry values, HTC Camera is using only 1 registry value and but lots of data into it. So I do not see how to change it with these script tools.
Can someone provide us with a script example to change this registry value to use the front camera ?
Anyone can tell me how to change the registry so that the HTC Camera is starting with the front camera instead of the back camera ?
Camera in Mirror with SKtools
Hello !
So no reply about an argument to camera.exe to launch it using the front camera instead of the back camera.
So I have found alternative way by using the tap feature of SKTools, here is my solution:
#r(\Windows\Camera.exe)
#r(#tap) #p(120;160) #sleep(1000)
#r(#tap) #p(5;160)
#r(#tap) #p(120;160)
It works well, I would just wish to get the camera immediately in fullscreen, because it needs 30 second to have the various camera logos the screen to disappear. Do you have any suggestions ?

magnifying glass

is there any magnifying glass tool like iphone ? sorry for my english.
iam look for them too but i found noting
is nobody there how can program it
Yeah, it's possible, but it doesn't work everywhere (just in the text messaging screen, basically).
Look for this in the registry and change it to 1:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\TextSelection\EnableMagnifier"

Great thing here =) thanks!
Magnifying glass
The one in the current iPhone TV ad looks very cool... haven't tried the registry tweak to enable the one mentioned above, but I suspect that's missing the point. The one I'd like to see would use the camera on the back of the HD2, preferably illuminated by the LEDs, and display a magnified image on the screen (the funky old-fashioned handle could be optional).
With a 5 megapixel camera, you could display at actual size just a portion of the image live would result in a 13x magnification without further processing. You could probably double that before pixels become jagged.
That would be far more impressive that what's possible with the iPhone.
Can't be that hard to program...???
@slowcat2:
This thread is about a 'virtual' magnifying glass that magnifies a part of your screen, specifically when selecting text, to increase the accuracy of your finger on the touch screen.
Your idea is actually pretty cool. I had my doubts at first, as I thought the HD2's camera and lens aren't good enough (even with its 5 megapixels) to offer a detailed and sharp image at close range; but then again, just using the built-in 2x zoom in the camera app, I already got a result that could be useful in some circumstances.

thanks, you are right, using the zoom is enough, good idea !

Actually, if I'm calculating correctly, since the pictures from the camera are 2592x1552 px, showing a portion of the image at actual pixel size on our 800x480 px screens would result in a 3,24x magnification (2592/800) along each axis. Or did I miss something?
Still, that's a lot more than what the zoom feature on the camera does, so there's room for improvement. Let's hope a developer picks this idea up!
Unless this has been bumped into another thread, I can't see how/why this hasn't been explored more. iPhone ads have a "Magnifying Glass" that obviously uses the camera lens to read images from the front and display them on the back (screen).
The HD2 has exactly the same physical make up of a camera lens on one side and a screen on the other and, when taking photos, this is utilised.
Presumably the LEDs would have to be forced on because of the closeness of the image and the camera would also have to be forced to maximum magnification, leaving the holder to move in and out to get focus.
The rest is just "tarting up".
I'd do it myself, if it weren't for a lack of time and talent!

[Q] Stroboscope program idea

I have been searching for a stroboscope program, and the only ones i found were just a simple torches or simple blinking stroboscope. So i thought maybe someone has time to make a program in which you could enter a frequency at which you want a led to blink, and it would be a great tool for many experiments. Sorry for my poor english.
Good idea, I wonder that nobody has taken it up.
........... and whoever is going to build this app should integrate this strobo function into the video camera function because ther it makes most sense.
There is an app on android called TeslaLed, i have tried it on my hd2, works great. But u cant enter a specific frequency, just adjust how fast it blinks.
is it possible to use the camera flash as a strobe-light, and create an application which could leave the camera lense open. this would create an effect of multiple frames in one picture.. either development would make a really cool camera app for some nice effects, but sounds a bit technicle, dont now.

Android style wallpaper

Is their such an app that allows for a single, wide, wallpaper that scrolls with tabs? I came across HDWall but i am skeptical about using it, plus all i want is what i described above and nothing more.
such features are called panoramic wallpaper, one of android's eye candy IMHO
as far as i know, the only app that able to bring you that panoramic thingy is the HDWall, and judging by the huge number of users, it should be good and safe enough to use.
..or try searching for MaxManila around the forum, it also has the ability to enable panoramic wallpaper, but it'll also put in a lot of other features you might not really need.
otherwise, buy an android phone instead
Moved as not software release.

My CM7 -- CyanogenMod 7 Experience.

I finally decided to install CM7 on my Chacha, and this is my experience:
I became accustomed to the particular style of working of the Sense implementation of the Chacha, so changing to CM7 and dropping that had irs learning curve, but nothing impossible or a real drawback.
I liked the fact that CM7 allowed to improve the video capture resolution on lgCamera: I could record in 800x480, where stock rom allows up to 720x480.
Also, CM7 added native FLAC support to the media player, but the playing itself is not constant with frequent cuts. Maybe the quality level of the files is too high, but my Sansa Clip+ player handles them with ease.
The 3D gallery seems to have a problem with JPEG rotation, because sometimes I fix it with 'JPEG Tool', but the gallery still show the files with the wrong orientation, where the stock gallery shows them right.
I really like the Sense calendar widget, and CM7 shows the standard Android one, that I don't like.
I didn't got that extended battery life others mention, maybe a bit longer, but not that 'wow' I expected.
So by the moment I reverted to stock. It seems that ChaCha is meant to be the phone it is: you can hack it, and try to improve it, but the best average way to have it working is with the modded stock rom, IMHO.
Regarding CM's learning curve, a great advantage of CM is that it is the same whatever device you install on. I mean, you can switch from a Motorola Dext with CM7 to an HTC Chacha with CM7, and the user experience will be the same, you'll find the same UI, same apps.
In my case, now I'm used to CM/SuperOSR roms experience, and TBH, switching back to modded stock roms can be difficult.
But it is a matter of whatever people prefer, and what is great is to be able to chose and take whatever one like the most.
BTW, Thanks for the feedback
what about the on screen keyboard?
1 - Does it pop up every time you want to type? regarding the small screen of the Chacha, this is what keeps me from installing it.

No, the hardware keyboard is used.
Yes, it's true: hardware keyboard is the only option. And word guessing doesn't work.
For purists, anything on top of Android is a mess and something to remove. Is just like Windows Vista forced-to-be users that deactivate all the fancy desktop effects and try to have as much as classic desktop as possible.
But as said, it's a matter of personal tastes.
