Hi ive noticed that some users still have v8.5 and some have flashed back to this after trying some version of WM6.5 so was just wondering what is the reason for using 8.5 and not updating to 8.9, Is there anu bugs or better features etc etc.
Also curious of opinions on the best overall WM6.5 rom for a 64mb uni.
Well
I can say I have tested almos all
So in general all versions are very good
8.2 and 8.5 are very stable, fast and exelent battery life
8.9 is also very good but as has more visuals is a little bit slower than the other versions
6.5 is fantastic!! wonderfull visuals new UI good battery life but is not as fast as the others (6.5 eats more RAM and program memory)
My recommendation is test all! and decide for yourself
i think 8.90.... for 64Mversion....
I personally like 8.9, but until then went through all Tomal's ROMs from way back when it was still Ranju. I have 6.5 running on my testing Uni, I am unable to use it in everyday life due to RAM restriction, it means most of my programs don't run and I am out of memory even without anything fancy running. I quite liked 8.2 and 8.81 as well.
I have a separate folder in my WM folder called 'Tomal', it has a collection of Tomal's ROMs
I flashed 8.9 and 6.5 but I came back to the one on my sig.. to each is his own I guess.. 8.81 is fast enough and has reasonable free space to load apps.. for me at least..
i have Kinged Shooter rom with mikg 2.1 im trying to find out the best ways to tweak this rom as far as add-ons kernels whatever let me know what combo is good
Well...
You should download setCPU or CPUmaster from the market and of course KernelManager to find an overclocked kernel of your liking. I recommend the Silverneedle 1.0+ kernel (it runs at 1.7GHz and is low voltage as well for better batter life and control).
Thanks so much for the help im about to try that out now...Trying to take full advatage of the EVO before i switch to the Epic Touch
Hello Fellas, i wanna know wich ROM performs better in GAMES, the HO!NO!, the Ice&Fire, The FroyoMOD or Plain Cyanogen 7 ???
All those one, or any other that you know, in their latests versions of course
hope you can help me with that, Cheers
In my opinion 2.1 roms are the best for games and multitasking. Exept they have 30 fps cap. After them the froyo roms.

How about Cronos?

In my opinion, FroyoMOD by Luca is the best, stable, with many features and really fast!
that's right. FroyoMod is the best for milestone
Test one ROM each day, and make your own opinnion. I found CM7 the best, as kalbadan does a very good job, and updates the ROM very often.
to me, plain CM7 by kabaldan is the way. Standard, clean and well mantained. Obviously, it's good if you use your phone as a smartphone. If your primary intent is playing games, Froyo is a better choice
Why exactly Froyo is better than CM7 in games? I've played many games, of course there were some FCs, but generally I managed to play NFS Shift fluently, for example. I use Chainfire, as it helps many games to start.

There is much more free RAM in Froyo, as apposed to CM7 (Gingerbread).

Its rocking!
Unfortunately its no longer part of XDA bkz of some technical & legal problems
Sticked with CM7 supported by kabaldan.
+1 for CM7
I used MIUI us, MIUIandroid, MIUI Galnet, CM6, FroyoMod, CM7 and stock.
The best CM7.
I've tried CM7, MIUI and others but Telus Lite is the best. Light-weight and super stable, it's quite snappy as long as you don't use too heavy apps. And it looks good.
I vote for HO! NO! 7.1.5 . Finally a great stable fully working ROM. Before I be used MIUI and I had stability issues.

Telus lite is by far the best rom for the milestone. When i had it i had around 90mb of free ram. Only downside is that there is no flash as it is 2.1
I tried to port the new gmsil client, flash etc but fwiled since the laws of android api wont allow it :L

So its between telus lite and HONO. How much free RAM on both? Which one is over clocked? I Don't prefer overcklocking.
I personally feel that Dev. for "Small Talk" Phones such as, Prepaid ZTE's, Boost Mobile Prepaids, Etc. Should have more modifications. I use to have a ZTE Score and all i saw, and still see, is one freaking Rom.! Can anyone guess.? YES, The Sc0red Rom. A Stock Deodexed rom with fast processing speeds but theming bugs. Its an awesome rom overall though. So i am gonna create Fully ICS Themed, CPU Tweaked, Bloatware Free Zte Score rom. Any Suggestion on what should be added in the Development guys.?
Hi, I have a 1gb ram version and im looking for just a fast and lightweight, 100% stable rom for the phone.
Visuals, features etc isnt really important to me but i want gps and all the phones original features to work, im looking for something smooth and snappy, good batterylife is always welcome too.
Any suggestions on what roms i should be trying?
Thanks in advance

You should stay on Moto's stock ROM.
There's no 100% stable ROM. Bugs are present. So it's just a matter of finding out if you can live with those bugs.
From what you have described, (fast, lightweight, 100% stable rom, good battery life and features not important) I'd really suggest to stay on stock Moto ROM.
If you really want to install a ROM (not 100% stable), then give AOSP extended or AOSP CAF a shot. You might like those.
Yeah.......as @adityak1303 pointed out,the aosp caf by Ahmed Hady and AOSP Extended by Shubham Singh is the best nougat rom available now......first one is caf based and the 2nd is jdc
No worry, there is rom call Oreo Go, yes it's old but good in stability and for battery use BatteryGuru ( adb or wireless)
Ram use 21 mb and cpu use minus -
