Does anyone got any suggestion on a radio app that can play radio from the internet?

That app is only available in the US i believe? Can't find it at least.

Has a ton of shoutcast streams, icecast and you can add your own and it's free.
I like "Slacker Radio."
Internet Radio
You can try Tune Wiki and Pandora.
Loving TuneWiki since it got that lyric download support.
Does it exist any Internet radio application like this one to Android?: http://www.sourcemac.com/?page=fstream
I might use mine a different way, but I'm in the US and like to listen to live talk radio (I know, I'm the life of the party!)... I use iHeartRadio and RadioTime. RadioTime is waaaay better for my purposes because it lets you search/browse by current, on-air personality, but iHeartRadio has a few stations that RadioTime doesn't.
HTH,
Billy
+1 on RadioTime. I love the fact I can browse and set up my favorites on my home computer, then it "syncs" them to my mobile.
I tried Droidlive, and while the interface looks better than A Online Radio, AOR sounds way better.
+1 for XiiaLive (a.k.a. DroidLive)
Shoutcast, Best UI, works like a charm.

So this is now my 2nd official post (1st was apps2sd for newbies) and i know many people have been trying to stream live internet radio stations (.pls,.aac,.aac+,.asf,.asx & .m3u files) on the Android OS.
As of now there really isnt a way to play all of those files but yes you can stream them.My last phone was the T-Mobile Wing an i was accustomed to streaming tuned.mobi on my TCPMP and so i was determined to find a way of getting me local radio stations back because i can't live without my sports radio WFAN 66 (NY station).Heres the instructions of getting this to work:
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download StreamFurious from the android market (Theres a free and paid version,i use the free version)
2. Go to tuned.mobi from your phone browser and from there just choose your country you will find your EVERY local radio stations to stream.
3. To stream the station you want just click on the stream bit for the station
example: 64kb,128kb (will be highlighted in blue)
WHAT YOU CAN AND CANNOT PLAY:
You can ONLY stream stations with MP3 (.PLS,.M3U & .AAC) or OggVorbis links
You CANNOT stream any links that says AAC+ or WMP next to them (Windows Media Player formats is not support on Android through streams as of yet. (.asf or.asx etc..))
That's it folks.Good Luck...Now all i need is my Slingplayer for Android OS and i have everything i had on my Wing and more
If anyone has a way of getting WMP formats to stream live radio please let me know because of all my favorite radio station there's 2 that i can't have on the go due to this issue. (Hot97 & Z100 NY stations)
Hey good looking bro. I was wondering if this was possible. I know Tunewiki says you can get local radio but that app leaves much to be desired. Im gonna try this and see what happens.
My friend just turned me on to StreamFurious I love it. Thank for letting posting about tune.mobi i will have to check it out
Dude you are a awesome. I was able to find the two local stations I listen to and streamfurious loaded them just fine. I was already using streamfurious before this and loved it and now it's perfect. So my friends with FM tuners in their cell phones can go to hell...lol
I love StreamFurious. Your post actually prompted me to make this Way, Way Too May Reboots thread because when I run SF my phone loves to reboot.
Does anyone else's do the same? If so and idea why and how to fix?
I like friskyradio.com in SF for electronic music.
I dont know how i could have ever overlooked an app like this. I been wondering for the longest if something like this was eveb available. Much thx to the op.
Quick question tho, anyone know where i can find a site or something that can stream Howard 100. I ask because i noticed that within the app you can select Howard 101 but they usually dont broadcast the re-runs etc of the show on the channel. I been out of the loop with the show for a while. Would like to take advantage of this app thx again
Thanks for the heads up on the tuned.mobi service. I have been using SF for a while already but some local channels don't have mp3 streams available (many CBSRadio stations) and this let me tune into them with SF.
BTW, maybe this thread belongs in the apps subforum?
I got windows media streams on my G1 by using the AndrOrb app and setting up the stream as a custom radio station on the orb website.
dunno if thats any good to you.
Streamfurious is the best one I've seen for Android.
The other two I have found are FlyCast and AntPlayer. FlyCast has the benefit of showing album covers. It rotates between album cover, song info and ads. It's a little annoying, but it's easier to see what is playing than the tiny text on Streamfurious.
I just found AntPlayer today. It has a very nice search feature. You don't need to know the URL.

just tried it and it works great. better than most pay options. thanks for the sugestion.
I just use htcradio.com and stream through media player. Gets the job done.
977 radio?
977 radio works great on my touch pro 2 but fails to buffer and load up on my HD2.
by the way, using the "mymobiler" option to input your info in the pandora radio cab for the touch pro 2 works GREAT!!! this is an awesome tip and a excellent way to get pandora on the HD2. only problem is you need to create your "radio stations" while connected thru mymobiler or thru pandora's website (if possible)
anyone have a clue how to fix the 977 radio cab to work on HD2? it launches the media player like the TP2 but fails yet comes preloaded with a "streaming media player" yeah right!! thats about useless...
HELP PLEASE ANYONE
Slacker comes on the device and is free to use.

im aware of slacker. it works great in 3G but while at my work, im in edge which causes gaps between songs, sometimes 3-5 minutes in length before a song resumes, sometimes not at all. miatsu whatever the hell its called works good. pandora works good but lower quality. just wanted to use what im used to which was 977 radio. htc radio.com is working good also. i finally got a good stream list to choose from. just hard to believe 977 radio DOESNT work on HD2 which is truly a better windows phone than TP2
Well, i am looking for a way to play the intrnet stream www.etn.fm on my htc hd2. On my normal computer i use mine beloved old sxhool winamp. So i downloaded Winamp for my hd2 (says beta version though) and it works fine with my normal music library, but i can not get the internet streaming to work. Can anyone help please? Thanks
bump. Any advice please?

You can try this one. I havent tried it yet, but some say it works.
Feedback welcome
i think SPB Radio, Resco Radio and Wunder Radio are fantastic options (but sadly, they're not free)
on the other hand, you could go to shoutcast.com in favorite web browser, hit the change default player button and stream your fav tunes to your device!
Maybe somebody knows some good app for Android which can stream wma files as well as mms:// web content ?
I know only one app yxplayer, but I really don't like the interface and it can't stream in background. When you minimize app it automatically closes. I have not tried paid version so.
Help appreciated,
Whitealien
Overview of available mms streaming apps (currently known to me):
1. RadioTime [Paid] [Rating 4.09]
[ + ] pretty awesome app with more than 3000 predefined world wide radio stations. Really nice interface, finds radio logos, possibility to save presets and chose varios streaming bitrates if available. Direct search option or find by radio stations by genre, language or country. Reads podcasts.
[ - ] not possible to add custom urls. Paid. Try TuneIn before purchasing this.
2. TuneIn Radio [Free] [Rating 4.62]
[ + ] same as RadioTime, but free. Really nice app.
[ - ] not possible to add custom urls. It works only with WiFi, wtf!!!!
3. yxplayer [Free/Paid] [Rating 3.42]
[ + ] currently the only app I know which allows to add custom radio urls
[ - ] other than that this is holy crap. Interface is horrible. It does not play in background. I understand that this app was developed to play or stream video files, but then video playback on HTC Hero was horrible. So I did not tried paid version, maybe its better.
For test purposes:
Radio name: Radio SWH
Address: mms://80.232.162.149/SWH_stereo
Protocol: mms
Audio format: wma
Bitrate:128Kbps 44100 Hz
Stereo: Yes

Are you trying to stream .wma from home or something? I'm not sure about mms: but Subsonic is pretty awesome. You can stream just about anything....mp3 wma flac...whatever. The Android app is free but you have to pay for the server side portion after 30 days. It's well worth it I can assure you....

+1 for subsonic. I use it so i have access to all my music. Just need to make a donation (of any amount) to the developer so the android app works past the 30 day trial.
Technically I want to stream Web radio which uses wma standard and mms:// protocol.
No, I'm not streaming audio from my home network.

Do you have a sample link we could play around with? I have a EVO and I'm a bit curious as to what it would do with the extension.
Have you looked at the app RadioTime ? It's very nice and has about any channel I can think of that is web broadcasting.

Unfortunately Radiotime is paid app. While its pretty awesome with over than 3000 predefined radio stations it does not allow to add custom urls . Also there is free add supported version of this app called Tune In which I recommend to try before buying Radiotime.
Radio I'm trying to stream is mms://80.232.162.149/SWH_stereo
I'll try to keep this thread updated with available radio streaming apps.
Thank you so much for all the info. Until now I was using YX player with the horrible interface. Recently the YX player stopped working for my mms URL so I had to find something else. I was looking for weeks until I saw this post.
Eventhough TuneIn Radio will not allow me to add urls I found the radio I was looking for among the thousands available. The interface is great and the sound quality was good as well.
I highly recommend this app and I would be willing to purchase the paid version if it gives more options than the free version.
my TuneIn Radio works over 3G
so
yeah
Maybe it has to do with the fact that I also have RadioTime
What about mms protocol videos/movies? Thanks!
Whats the best online radio app, preferably one that has the most channels/stations
Sent from my GT-I9000M using XDA App
i use A Online Radio. it has favourites, search function for shoutcast stations and has sleep timer that you can set up yourself. pretty nifty in my opinion.
For purely largest variety, I'd go with TuneIn Radio. It seems to be just a conglomeration of any and all streaming radio stations (including most terrestrial stations) the authors could find. It also allows you to switch between any available mirrors of a station (if they have a choice between high quality and low bandwidth, for example).
For the highest quality audio and best (but smaller) selection of (only?) music, I'd suggest CBS's Radio.com. If I wanted to listen to streaming music of a certain genre, that was always my favorite.
There's also Clear Channel's iHeartRadio. If you want to listen to a Clear Channel terrestrial station, this is probably where you'll have to look. The music selection is pretty nice too, but the audio quality isn't really on par with the others IMO. Additionally, they've been a bit dodgy about putting their app on the market, you may have to go to their site and sideload it.
I use tunein, can be a bit buggy but usually does the job. Loads of stations on it
I use Tunein too, it's still not as feature packed as the iOS version, like forwarding and rewinding, but as for just listening - it does the job excellently!
wunderadio (Paid)
wunderadio. you can look for stations or program your own if you know the mms feed....
What does everyone recommend for internet radio apps? I had Pandora for a while, but it always seemed to get into a rut as far as what songs it would play, and it got predictable. I can't seem to find Slacker's app in the market anymore.
i listen to more local stuff with tune in radio pro (was free on amazon a while back) and i like it... pandora is a bit predictable, and you're limited to how many hours you can listen to for free.
+1 for tune in radio
I listen to this every morning at work on my phone since I cant stream on our work network. Stations from across the country, great variety, and the radio itself has a pretty slick interface.
Winamp rocks.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
Hands down "Wunder Radio" it even picks up local radio stations by GPS!
It has a ton of radio stations from around the world.
Great selection
Tune In is incredible.
Another vote for Winamp

Winamp is really great for internet radio - it gives access to the huge Shoutcast network with just about anything you could want.
TuneIn Radio is excellent for local (and national and international) commercial radio stations. The difference between the free version and the retail version is that the retail version can record what you listen to. In America, all the stations owned by Clear Channel Radio are excluded from TuneIn Radio because they have their own app - "I Heart Radio." Last time I tried that app it was awful.
