SIP/VOIP Over 3G ??? - Android Apps and Games

Hey guys, How are ya all!!!
I have been looking for a SIP/VOIP app to use over 3G network. SIPDroid, SIPAgent, CSipSimple and VOIP Buster hang all the time. I have WM 6.5 and portsip works flawlessly on same network (With 729AU codec). Do you guys have a solution or some setting to make any app work with 3G.
Sorry if this is a double post but I searched this forum already...
And by the way SE X10a has been rooted!!!

Any one !
Atleast tell me if its the OS that does not support this feature or is there a problem with my current DONUT OS.

Use Sipdroid in combination with pbxes.org, it takes some time to figure out but it works perfevtly.

Have you tried the SIP client in Fring as well?

Try Nimbuzz
I can use Skype, GTalk, MSN, Yahoo, AOL and a lot other SIP/VOIP services.

+1 for fring, I used it on winmo, and I'm still using it on android. It has some login problems with froyo, but it is still the swiss army knife for keeping in touch.

thanks guy,, will try all

VOIP in Canada

Anyone using 3G VOIP on the X10 with a high level of success?
Skype Beta, tried but doesn't work in this "region"
Fring = crap
Google Voice = not in Canada
I don't care if the service is free or pay-for but I would like some options.
Any info would be appreciated.
Try the new new Vonage app. Downside is that it only works between Facebook users with the app installed on their Android, Apple or Blackberry phones. Other than that it looks good and is totally free worldwide.

Tried it.. just can't get it to work. After I enter my facebook login and passwd, it says Can't connect to facebook, try again later and closes itself.
Guess I have to stick to crappy fring
Google voice works in Canada. U need an Alberta number to forward to. The only downside is having to use the web browser to make outgoing calls.

But you have to pay about 50$ for the sip settings (user/pass)
Free local calls and between some cities.
Unfortunately without sip settings, you can't use sipdroid.
3cx phone seems to work best for me since it supports g711. Sipdroid doesnt seem to have that codec. Havent found any that support g729 yet. 3cx also allows multiple sip accounts. Used it with voipcheap and gizmo5. Seems to work best for me.

Installed it last night but haven't tried it out yet.
I'll play with Vonage today and maybe look into a sip account.
Thanks to all.

Do you know any sip provider with prepaid for international which doesn't expire and preferably free local or north america calls?
You can also try Nimbuzz. They just released a new version the other day, that is supposed to reinstate Skype VoIP service. Haven't tried it myself yet, though.

Just added Tubaloo to my to test list.
Thanks.
I just created a Sipgate account (VPN on the home computer combined with a friend with a US cell phone got me an invitation code).
I've tried to set it up with Sipdroid and although it connects (green light on top) it fails to sustain a phone call. It makes the call and then drops it. I've tried with and without using the STUN server and have also tried various ports.
The Sipgate account is working. I called my Sipgate number and left myself a voicemail.
Is Rogers simply blocking my 3G VOIP trials?

Skype

Any way to get Skype on my Captivate? It's the last thing I really need before I completely declare it > my old iPhone.

Skype on Android is exclusive to Verizon. You can install the apps marketaccess or my market and change your carrier settings in there to make google think you are on Verizon for you to see the skype app in the market. I am not sure that it will actually work if you download and install it though.
I was disappointed by this too (coming from WinMo), but I have figured out how to use sipdroid in conjunction with google voice to get free voip calls to the US and Canada (I had a gizmo5 account which is no longer open for registration, but you can choose from a number of sip providers). Another option that looks interesting, but will not work for calls to non android/iphone phones (yet anyway) is a new vonage/facebook app which gives free voip to your facebook contacts. i haven't tried that one out yet though...
Nimbuzz 2.0 works perfectly with Skype, MSN, Yahoo, Google talk and some other.
Does Nimbuzz let you make outgoing voip calls to a phone from a skype account?

Don't people say there is a loud echo when they speak with you on skype?
Everyone i spoke with said they hear themselves and very loud echo.
you can get skype if you use market enabler. However, it has not been said to be a good app. The Skype to landline calls still use minutes etc.

[Q] Looking MSN (IM) app for Android (Gingerbred) with push and talk

Hi!
Give me hint if there are a good MSN application for my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S with Google Android OS v2.3.3 aka Gingerbred).
I have found that some have push support with Android version 2.2+ and some have voice clips, but not talk like the desktop version of Windows Live Messenger or Skype. Android Skype is super (here in Finland it work with WLAN and 3G), but I'm still looking a MSN IM too, becouse I use Messenger on my desktop PC and have more friends from there than on Skype world.
Paid version of MSN are OK, too, if they have push and talk support. Not interesting about voice clips.
I searched a little but i can't find anything. I guess you just have to switch between Skype and a IM app.

combining fb chat, gchat, and sms app?

anyone using nimbuzz on their sensation? is there a better app that combines all 3 im platforms into 1 app without too much lag? thanks.
eBuddy is better...but i havent seen any app combining all with SMS/Messaging...
thanks for the input. when i originally read about nimbuzz, i though they had figured out a way to combine tmobile or any other cell plan text messaging with an im client. that would be great! but till that happens, i'll be using imo. compared to nimbuzz and ebuddy it works better for me.
