As the title indicates I have no "goto" icons in my lockscreen and my home screen is missing the most important icons, the only on there is the middle one for all apps.
See file attatched
Is this a know bug and is there a way to sort it? Yes I have tried reinstalling the rom without any luck.
It seems to work with other launchers (Go Launcher and LauncherPro) but I really just want the stock feel.
Also settings seem to crash a lot...
I had this kind of issue with the lockscreen. If you can, try running the HTC setup app. It hopefully will restore it. Make sure you don't have any repeating Force Close messages, especially with HTC apps. That locks up the whole thing and usually forces you to have to restore a nandroid backup.
Well, that kinda worked for the lockscreen, I now have settings and one other thing there. I seem to remember there used to be a way to customize which icons to show? Any idea where to find it?
Anyone got any tips on the home screen icons?
What is the service called so I can freeze it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
You cant freeze that. There is nothing to freeze.
Why not just go to the Security portion of settings and disable the lockscreen? Just dont put any pattern, pin, or anything. Then anytime you lock the screen it just powers down the screen, hit the power button and its back on, no lock screens of any kinds.

Thanks.
But I want a lockscreen.
I use WidgetLocker and every once in awhile, I get the stock lockscreen and have to swipe it away, then I get the Widgetlocker screen immediately after and have to swipe that away also.
And a couple other buggy type gremlin stuff. Nothing serious, just bits of annoying.
So it would be easier if I could just delete or freeze the stock lockscreen.

Your not going to be able to freeze it because its not really an app to freeze. Its part of the android.policy.jar and framework-res.apk file. This is what the rom makers mess with when they forcing say the AOSP lockscreen.
As far as why the stock one keeps showing up, something is not right, if you set the lockscreen to none on the security settings, then the widgetlocker should be the only one showing up, you shouldnt have two lockscreens. That only happens if you have the security set to a native lockscreen and then widget locker is sitting on top of that.

Huh, if that's the way it's supposed to be done, then I wonder why WidgetLocker doesn't do it for me.
I just turned off the lockscreen in security (I think) and WidgetLocker is still working. I assumed it would be disabled also, if I turned off lockscreen. We'll see if this does the trick. Thanks.
The lockscreen settings in the settings tab only affects the original one, it cant adjust the widgetlocker one. It doesnt even know about that.
So if you removed the lockscreen from settings, it wont show the original samsung one anymore. If they still have Widgetlocker installed and enabled, it will then be your lockscreen. If you dont want that, then you need to disable Widgetlocker and either get another one you like or put the samsung one back on since you said you still want some type of lock screen, otherwise you wont have any lock screen, just a screen power off.
The lockscreen apps unfortunately cant modify the existing base OS code, they litterally just sit on top of the existing one and sort of inject themselves in there by you giving them the default. But if the stock/samsung one is enabled it still goes into effect, thats why you end up with two lockscreens. So basically you need to enable just one of them.

Yep, it looks like you can disable any security settings that pertain to the default lockscreen. Like removing a pin, or special drawing function to unlock.
But it doesn't actually remove the lockscreen itself.
So I tried "No Lock":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...nolock&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
This completely disables the default lockscreen.
But on reboot, you still see the lockscreen for like two seconds, then it goes away on its own.
I'll try this combo with WidgetLocker for awhile to see how it works. So far so good, but the real test will be over a few days use.
Sometimes that stock lock screen would come up when I bring the phone out of deep sleep. It's fairly rare, just enough to be a small annoyance.

Are you on a rom with 14 toggle? If It has a locksreen toggle, thats what I used when I used golocker. It never showed stock, except on a reboot.
I tried Screen Tweaks, which removes only the camera icon, Clean Lockscreen removes carrier logo, but Swipe to Unlock is persistent.
Can anyone point me in the direction of something to remove this (rooted D6616)?
I found this, but it doesn't seem to work on my Z3:

Edit: Got it done...kind of. See 2nd post, keep getting these strange black bars that nobody seems to have in that thread.

Edit update: I copied the modded keyguard.apk again, removed the text, and installed xBlast tools to make the status and navigation bars transparent. Now, if I'm on my home screen or somewhere the bars are transparent and lock and unlock, the bars are gone. If I lock from anywhere else, the bars are still there.
So now I guess I'm looking at a way to make them transparent on the lockscreen permanently
Bump...just tried this:

I've already tried re-applying the wallpaper and applying a different wallpaper with no luck. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Maybe.
I am talking about non branded builds.
But anyway it does not matter.
Some people are bothered by the text, I myself...don' t care.
I really don't think this is hopeless...as you can see, I have succeeded in removing the text, but something is incompatible and causing black bars to appear as if I just initiated the notification drawer. I posted a screenshot in the OP. If I knew how to modify the APK myself, I would but I can't seem to find many resources on that.
Hopeful bump! Also update, I copied the modded keyguard.apk again, removed the text, and installed xBlast tools to make the status and navigation bars transparent. Right now, I have a note 5 and seriously considering buying the LG V10 after seeing the promo of the 200 GB SD card.
I am not a developer myself, but do you foresee the V10 getting cm12 since the G4 is getting it. Specs are pretty close (except the second screen of course). I like the option to go on stock android once in a while without breaking the budget with 2 or 3 phones.

One can only hope. The biggest hurdle is going to be the second screen. If they can find a way to either disable or find a way utilize the screen that would be awesome too

yeah, i am debating getting the v10 from the note 5, not crazy about the pen. only if tmobile has the nexus 6.
Dang, I can't screenshot this as the second screen doesn't appear on the screenshot, but When I swipe up from the status bar while on the home screen it moves the status bar to the second display.
I can see CM 12 or any ROM go this route and I like it! I'll see if i can take a picture with another device.

Nova did this for me as well once I chose to hide the status bar. I would love to have my status bar up there permanently.
Doesn't work for me either, using nova.

What version of the v10 are you using? I tried nova and his my status bar but unable to Reigate still. Mostly just curious at this point.
Ok I think I got this. Seems to be repeatable. First off T-Mobile V10, unlocked, rooted, all xposed modules disabled for testing purposes. Hide status bar in nova launcher, the go to phone settings > Display > Home touch buttons > hide home touch buttons > select nova launcher. Your second display will go blank when you are at the launcher screen. No shortcuts, no sig, nothing, tap on it, it should show your status bar for a second or two. When you open an app it'll revert to showing whatever pages you have active.
Really hope CM can utilize the second screen! unused hardware just taking up space on my phone doesn't sound attractive

Ah, ok. This works on anything that hides the home buttons. Just tested with Smart Launcher and it works as well. Also in Play Books the status bar will move to the second screen when tapped. Stays on for a second or two and then fades out.
So, I got CM12 to compile and put me into a boot loop!
Step one done.
Step two: Free my schedule so I can start working on CM12 for the V10.
If any dev has started a Git repo for anything V10 CM12 related, shoot me a message so I could get in on it.

After sleep deprived splashing things together and going through freezing on the splash screen, it got to the splash screen then rebooted itself multiple times.
I consider that a positive incremental step in the wrong direction.
Most of my work is just mirroring the h811 cyanogenmod work and adjusting all relevant settings to the h901.
It is probably not the way to go, but I'm a little crunched on time between work and work.

It;s a stick figure, like the stick figure that was coming up on peoples nav bar on 8's and 9's for accessibility settings
it looks JUST LIKE THIS ONE IN THE PINK CIRCLE without the dots under it but its a icon by the clock

My stickfig has a purpose, I can dim the screen at night or brighten it up. The icon comes up when you slide out the 'stick'. You can park this feature anywhere, to enable go to 'visibility enhancements' >>'extra dim'(screenshot is from S22)
So I'm guessing you can disable your stick figure somewhere there as well.
