clear status bar - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

Can someone that is not calibrating their battery push this to their phone (nandroid first) and tell me if this works? Just trying to figure out what all I have to do to get this status bar to be clear.
OH and also only people with Darchdroid 2.7 please. Thanks
EDIT: View Image first, then save Image as.
-Highlight to view-

Cant see any image. When I right click what I highlight, which seems to be a 20x3 thing, it only gives me the option to Copy, which is not what I want.

Clock on Lock screen

Ok I followed a tutorial on how to change the lock screen over on android forums (can't post link due to being a new user) and the way all of there's look is they have a square style lock screen, however every time I try and change mine to either ones that I have created, or others that they have created it still gives me that bar style clock on the lock screen. How do I change it to the square one? I've attached pictures showing the two clocks I'm talking about.

That box is implemented into the picture. They are removing the bar and just adding the black square to the wallpapers picture so it aligns with the clock.

No they aren't, it is an actual lockscreen with the box underlaying the clock on any wallpaper. I have used it before.
on 1.5 just pull HtcLockScreen.apk from /system/app open it (I use WinRAR) go to \res\drawable-480x320\ and edit the lockscreen_topedge.png file or replace it with the png of your liking (same dimensions) and make sure you name it the same. push it back to your phone and reboot.

Actually, when I made those I added the box myself into the png

I did that but I'm still getting that same stock clock
It works. I've never had experience editting any of the Android files. I followed the guide step by step and it did work. Make sure you're keeping the directory structure intact and resigning the zipfile correctly. Flash it through recovery mode.
I know it works I just can't seem to get the clock to change. The only thing I can think of is that I'm not flashing properly, what exactly do u do in the recovery area?

Technically, it's not the clock you are trying to change, it's the image behind it. The clock (text) itself remains the same.
Drop the zip file on the root of your sdcard, boot into recovery, and try flashing it that way, rather than (assuming) through the pre-kitchen, if that is they way you previously tried.
In recovery you just choose apply sd card: choose zip right?

[THEME] Desire Notification Bar for Cyanogen Mod (tested and working with 6.0.0 rc1)

Disclaimer
Use these instructions at your own risk.
What happens if it doesnt work?
Worst case scenario: You get a heart attack thinking you bricked your phone
More likely scenario: It works and you end up happy with a nice looking desire bar on your N1.
Less likely scenario: You get a boot loop, which can be easily fixed by re-flashing CM (you wont even lose data)
Instructions - Method 1, use MetaMorph (probably the easiest method):
1. Use CyanogenMod settings to change clock/date/notification text to light grey/white color (or use this XML)
2. Install MetaMorph and BusyBox from market
3. Download the morph/s below and move them to your phone
4. Apply the morph using MetaMorph
Morphs (also available at androidmorph.com):
desire_notification_bar.zip Just the original desire bar + desire icons + stock pulldown menu
Desirebar-Black-Pulldown.zip Desire bar + desire icons + desire pull down (see screenshot) - thanks to Saphroxx
stock_battery_icon.zip Changes your battery icon back to the one included in the stock rom
Alternative methods to get the black desire bar (no longer supported):
Method 2, use my framework-res.apk:
1. Use Spare Parts to change clock/date/notification text to light grey/white color (or use this XML)
2. Download framework-res_XXX.apk and rename it to framework-res.apk
3. adb remount
4. adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
5. reboot (if phone doesnt reboot by itself)
Download framework-res.apk:
CM 5.0.7.1 (n1gapps)
CM 5.0.8 (gapps-passion-EPF30-signed, radio-4.06.00.12_7)
Method 3, create your own framework-res.apk:
1. Use Spare Parts to change clock/date/notification text to light grey/white color (or use this XML)
2. Download this zip containing the PNGs for the desire bar
3. adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk framework-res.apk
4. Open the framework-res.apk on your pc using winrar (or any other packaging software that supports adding files to archives without compression)
5. Add the PNGs in the res.zip file to the framework-res.apk file (put them into \res\drawable-hdpi) without using compression! ("store" method)
6. adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
7. Reboot, if phone doesnt reboot by itself
Note: If after the update installing apps from the market causes FCs go to settings/apps/manage apps/market and hit "delete updates"
Want the transparent Lamppu widget?
Get it here (uninstall your version of Lamppu before installing this one)
can we have one for froyo ?
Desirebar-BlackPulldown-SenseBatteryIcons can be found in my signature
Here is the one I am using on 5.0.8
I take no credit or responsibility for it, i pulled the png files from another apk and put them in this one that was on my phone after updating to CM5.0.8.
make sure when you push it you rename it to the proper name
has anyone tried this with TBA?
I am sorry for hijacking this thread but is there any way to change the notification bar on a stock Froyo FRF72 without rooting?
I've had enough of the white taskbar!
This looks great, only thing that doesent fit my taste is the black color of the provider if you drag down the notifications bar. Anyway I can change it to white color?

I don't know the correct english terms for the settings menu entries since im using a german version. But the option should be close to the bottom (5th from the bottom) in the spare parts menu under "General" -> "Operator Color"
Is there any way that you could add the battery percent like the regular CyanogenMod notification bar?

Yes, it works. After applying this Desire Notification Bar for 5.0.8, I opened TrackBallAlert and was able to succesfully Patch CM5 to use with TBA.
Last update from CM5.0.6 to CM5.0.7.1, I had to uninstall TBA and re-install, which is not needed when upgrading from CM5.0.7.1 to CM5.0.8.
BUMP: Is it possible to morph the dropdownmenu aswell so it's black? Or help me hand so I can do it myself and provide you afterwards? Would be awesome!
The font-color can easily be modified to white in SpareParts.
EDIT: I figured it out myself how to make a morph. In attachment you can find XebozZ' awesome Desirebar, with black Pulldown Menu added by myself. Also tested with TrackBall Alert and it works. You will have to change the font settings of the provider to white again in SpareParts if you use the Desire-Black-Pulldown.

Enjoy!

The battery percentage works just like with the stock battery icon. If it doesnt show up try to disable it, reboot, enable and reboot again.
In case you want the stock battery icon check out my first post, i just added a morph that restores the original icon.

Pretty sure the control file is there, it's called Desire-Black-Pulldown.thm.
Make sure you do not rename unzipped content etc.
Applying should only take half a minute and your phone will show a message that it will reboot.

[Shaded/transparent status bar] for 8/1 froyo leak

I've taken the liberty of creating a ~50% shaded status bar as well as a fully transparent one. This has been compiled with Jercik's Smooth Sense icons and Xeudoxus' shaded notifcation background, of which i obviously take no credit for either of those modifications and would also like to thank both of them for their creations. I believe everyone should give them a hearty thank you as well.
EDIT: BIG thanks to yojoe600 for the edited services.jar with no location AND transparent status background. all zips have been updated with it, meaning no more location icon in status bar.
As with anything, do a nandroid just in case something goes wrong.
Anyways, here's a few shots of the bars:
shaded bar

some light bugs:
after installing the zip and booting up for first time, widgets may be doubled over themselves. just remove them and put them back up again, issue is fixed.
when debugging is enabled, upon connecting to pc through usb, weather info on the stock weather widget will disappear. just flick to a different homescreen and back, it will fix.
If any other bugs are found, please post it so i can see if i can fix it.

Yea text is still white. I think the text color is handled by a .jar file or xml, which i dont know how to edit yet. But im getting ready to learn java development so hopefully soon i will.
Good to hear you guys arent experiencing the bugs i did.

yea, i tried flashing the noloc.zip over this, but the shaded notification background (the background for when you pull down the status bar, not the bar itself) is a services.jar edit which is packed in with this zip. unfortunately the no location mod is also a services.jar edit, meaning one will replace the other when flashed. and i dont know how to edit .jars yet, so i could ask pmf if he'd be willing to show me what he edited in the .jar to remove the icon and see if i could add it in as well. i'll let you know when/if this happens.
until then, if you still want to remove the location icon, you can still flash pmf's zip to get rid of it, youll just possibly lose the shaded notification background at worst. it shouldnt change anything else.

the link to the services.jar only didnt have the no location, so i downloaded the .zip and pulled the services from there.
I installed the zip from the op for shaded smooth sense/super circle green. The battery notification does not show up at all. A blank space where the battery notification would be.
edit: it works when I have the phone plugged in to charge, but once I disconnect the charge the battery icon disappears again.

[Q] Is a theme or hack that can remove the Titanium Slider bar?

i'm wondering if there is a way to do away with the slider bar in the default wm6.5 home screen. in the pic below (i'm a new user so just copy/paste without spaces, lol.) i just slid the bar all the way to the top to take a screenshot, and i wanna know if i can just remove it for a simple clean homescreen.
i53. tinypic. com/2zeypuh .jpg
Why not switch to "classic today" screen, then check out the themes forum for themes you can apply or search for specific plugins? Is it just that you want the titanium function but not the outline around the selected panels? I'm not sure how to do that, but it should be possible by editing the xml file.
well, when i switch to the classic today screen, or just uncheck Windows Default, under Items, i lose the transparency of the toolbar and taskbar. i guess that if i cold just get rid of the big dark bar in the middle of my screen i would be satisfied. i would just like to be able to see my wallpapers. and yes, i want the titanium function but not the outline around the selected panels.
Ok, gotcha. I don't know off-hand how to do that, though It probably would be as simple as editing the file, or finding the .png that is of that image (in the windows directory) and replacing it with a panel that is completely transparent.
Maybe someone with some experience will come along that already knows how to do that.
To get you started, you may want to look at this theme, which has already made the panels transparent. if you like it, you can just use it. Otherwise, you could potentially compare the xml files, of find the transparent image that he is using in there and copy it over to your device. It's been a long time since i checked/looked, but the xml that controls the sliding panels today screen is usually something like home.xml or something.
[note: if your phone is not touchscreen, use/look at this thread instead]
If you start playing around, back everything up first! You may also want to browse the "post your screenshots thread" and see if you don't come across some other UI that you like better (or another theme w/o the panels). good luck!

The bronzeres.dll is on the windows directory, but modifying the dll is more complicated than editing xml or cpr files, in my previous post there is a link where you can learn how to unsigne, edit, resign the dll file.

Want to make the Smart Notice widget transparent? Here's a how-to!

I posted this as a comment elsewhere, but thought it would do more justice as it's own thread. So here it is. This is ONLY for those who feel comfortable with rolling up their sleeves and tinkering with system files. Do not attempt this if you feel uncomfortable in any way. If you feel you are up for this project, read on...here's how to make the Smart Notice widget transparent!
Follow my instructions CAREFULLY. If possible, do this in front of a computer or other display so you can easily follow along. What's great about doing it this way is that you don't need Photoshop or to even do it on a computer.
First, go to recovery and BACK UP. Always do this. You will be glad you did if you screw this up. You could also go to Root Explorer before editing, go to the path/folder I specify a bit later and copy the specified files I also specify later to an external sd card, then replace them if things go awry or if you hate your changes. This can take time, though, and you will need to change permissions for each file as you go. Restoring via recovery is a safe way to restore everything back with little hassle and in less time than it would to replace each file and change permissions. Less room for error, too.
Get the Image Editor and Root Explorer apps at the Play Store. When you get them, go to Image Editor click on "open photo". When you do, scroll down the side panel till you see Root Explorer. Click. Go to /system/etc/mrg_default_forms/ConciergeBoard/default_view/container/res/drawable-xxxdpii/img/.
You will find your images to edit there. You will be editing the following, one by one:
concierge_default_bg_daily_brief.png
concierge_default_bg_time.png concierge_default_bg_weather.png concierge_blue_bg_time.png concierge_blue_bg_weather.png.
Once you choose the pic to start working with, you will be in the main editor. Click on the picture of the sun on top. A drop down menu will appear. Choose "effects". If you want to change the opacity to transparent, choose "opacity" (scroll the menu to the side to see it). Then choose "opacity" again. You can fiddle with transparency that way. Always click the checkmark on top to save changes. If you want to fiddle with color, choose "effects", then "colors" and then "hue". Use the sliders to adjust the colors. Again, click the checkmark above to save changes. I recommend changing color first if you wish to have both transparency and color changes. You'll be able to see color changes better this way and get a good idea of what you're working with.
Once you are done with EVERYTHING and are back on the main editing page (you'll be there every time you save changes), click on the checkmark above and click on "save" in the drop down. When it prompts you to save to Gallery or to choose where to save, CHOOSE GALLERY. ALWAYS. Choosing to choose where to save will result in a prompt to install another app called Computer. Don't. It's not necessary and runs very poorly.
Okay. Now it's time to roll up our sleeves. Go to Root Explorer once you are done editing all the pics. Go to the ImageEditor folder in your onboard storage (sdcard0). That's where your images are. Check them all off and click on the copy icon on bottom. The copy icon looks like two rectangles overlapping each other. Once that's done, go to the same path I mentioned earlier when we were editing photos: /system/etc/mrg_default_forms/ConciergeBoard/default_view/container/res/drawable-xxxdpii/img/. You may see a "root" tab toward the top of the app. If you see it, great: that is actually the easiest way to get to the above path. Once you are in the img folder, click on where it says "copy here" in the lower left corner. You will get a prompt to switch to r/w, first. Go ahead and okay that. Then it will ask if you wish to replace your files. Do it. It's fine: you backed up first, remember?
Okay. Once that's done, go to each file that is marked rw-rw-rw. Click on each check mark, then click on the three dotted menu button on your far right. Choose "permissions". You will choose rw-r-r (that's read/write for owner, read for group and read for others) for each file you edited/replaced. Save your changes and then make sure each file there is rw-r-r. Then exit. You can reboot now. You should see changes after reboot.
If at first you see the widget looking as if it hadn't changed at all, don't panic. That's normal. Just give it a few seconds to refresh. If after text appears the widget looks funky or unchanged, you messed up a bit. That's okay, too. Just go back and make sure you followed every step I detailed. Or you can go to recovery, restore and start over.
If the widget happens to force close (or crash...it shouldn't), restore. Something funky happened and you'll need to start from scratch. It's a little complicated for newer folks, but it won't screw up your phone so badly it will be unusable if you mess up. It will just mess up the widget. And that can be fixed by restoring a backup.
You may discover the text on the smart card portion of the widget is a bit light after all this. You can either choose a wallpaper to accomodate, make your concierge_default_bg_daily_brief.png file less transparent or choose a solid, light color, OR you could edit the concierge.css file in
/system/etc/mrg_default_forms/ConciergeBoard/default_view/container/, but I don't recommend that unless you really know what you are doing and feel comfortable monkeying with CSS. If you or anyone else really wishes to, I can explain how to do that next time. But again, do that only if you know what to do. You CAN restore if you mess that file up, but seriously, CSS can be intimidating and confusing to a novice. A screw up could make you need to restore and start over. Very frustrating. To be safe, copy and store your edited files in a different location, like an external sd card or computer. That way, those files will always be there in case you need them.
Happy editing. Let me know if something needs further explaining.

I don't know how to make flashable zips, or I'd have just done that. Also, there is another thread regarding this very subject. They haven't come up with a flashable file, either.
So okay. Let's just use this tut as a guide for others to follow who DO want to put in the work for their own phones. If someone comes up with a flashable, cool. But I took the time to type all this up. Try to keep the laughing at a dull roar, okay?
