Not so easy.
If you rename the apk to zip, you can find the XML files but those are crypted. so you can not edit them.
I made some translation, so i next need to rebuild it to apk, then test it.
BR.

Look up an app called Fancy Widget it has the look and feel of the HTC Widget.

That looks like the beautifulwidgets app. Beautiful Widgets app is basically the same thing with a 3 day forecast, animated screen, and multiple themes you can download.

rebuild to apk and resign and install is ok now
I just made something wrong with the translation because the app crashes
When i decompile the original and recompile again to apk and resign, -- it works well, so i made some mistakes. But it was a really fast translation.
Now back to the original and translating it carefully and with short strings.
BTW
@blaboy51
I have used apktool to decompile the apk.
BR, Norberto

thats wuts upp...shared the apk when your done and thanks for your time.

Now translated, but there are still some chinese strings what i cannot find.
And the app (the original too) crashes in the android emulator
testing on the phone is littlebit slower
But working on it...
Edit: my translated app crashes on the phone when i try to launch the main app.

Holy ****!!!!
Look at the description.
Supports almost all prefecture-level city of China, the total to 2642 region

IT SUPPORTS ONLY CHINA.
So translation ended.
If it will support all the world than i will work on it.

Not the english, or the translation is the problem!!
This app can show you only the Chinese weather. That is the problem!!!
So the english version of this app is useless too if you are not in china.

Fancy Widgets is nice, but it looks like the dev has gotten in trouble with HTC. The latest update is going to be the last for this look, but they are going to come back with their own new look.

[APP] Minimalistic Text

So here it goes. My first Android app.
I would like to peresent a first Beta release of Minimalistic Text.
This app is heavily inspired by Clockr and BattStatt but adds some additional benefits.
Why?
While searching for a reason to dig into Android app development I came across Clockr and BattStatt. So I decided to rebuild them.
As the first version of a text-clock was ready, I wanted to push this widget one abstraction layer up to some kind of meta-widget that brings the different approaches of displaying information in a textual, minimalistic way in one line so that it gets possible to make all this text widgets look the same way.
But the main driver for me to spend evenings at my PC developing this app has been just the fun of it

What is Minimalistic Text for?
In the first case Minimalistic Text is a widget app that displays information in a minimalistic way.
„Yet another Text Clock?“ one may ask.
The answer is „Yes“, but more than that.
Flexibility
Minimalistic Text tries to give you much more control about what information to show and how this information should be presented. The architecture of the widget allows (the developer) to add easily new sources of information and let the user integrate them in a widget.
Today Minmalistic Text knows 4 sources of information:
Time
Date
Battery
Weather
These information sources provide a set of variables that can be used in the widget configuration to build up your very own widget.
Resource Management
Minimalistic Text tries to update the widgets only when necessary. Each widget analyzes the information (variables) it uses and knows when it has to be updated. So the update service updates only the widgets that have to be updated.
When the screen of the device goes off, Minimalistic Text stops updating any widgets immediately and restarts the update process when the screen goes on again.
For example: If a widget only has time variables and the voltage of the battery changes, the time widgets doesn't get updated. Sounds naturally? I don't want to know how many widgets out there don't take care about their update frequency .
Still under development
Minimalistic Text is still under heavy development. So many ideas are on my todo-list that haven't been implemented yet.
This can lead to breaking changes (that would force you to re-add your widgets to the home screen). Of course I will take care to avoid this, but it could happen.
How you can help
I am open to criticism and suggestions. One reason for throwing the app in the public at this stage of development is to get early feedback in order to direct the development in the right direction.
Please tell me if an error occurs. Either here in this thread, via PM or e-mail.
For a little guide see this link.
Download
Minimalistic Text supports devices running Android 1.6 and up.

Do you mean a Text like "|" to separate the text blocks?
What month variable are you using? Or are you using a predefined layout?
You can define the case of the text in the preferences already.

Both with symbols and spaces
Using digits for months
thanks I missed it

Fix for the month-bug is published.
On my todo-list is the following idea: The ability to place a text-variable anywhere you want and set the text it should display. This would solve your problem partially (text only).
Thank you for the input.
thanks for update, working well, waiting for separators
Is there a way to re-add the widgets you made already, say for a different launcher etc?
It´s a pity, under MIUI-ROM 0.11.26 the settings screen is grey all over. Just the preview bar at the bottom is visible and works.

Hmm... i just tried on three devices (hc, ics, cm9) and the keyboard pops up fine when clicking the login field.
Can you please try another site? Or maybe a reboot? We use the webkit browser and its not flawless so the keyboard hiding we do at first run may be screwing with it.
Lets see if we can fix this for you.
1.0.2.1
Fixed keyboard issue present on some phones
Fixed image cache optimization (much faster now)
Fixed a rendering issue that occurs if data connection is lost
Fixed a few device-specific issues from user feedback
Nice idea, like it. But how do i prevent making a list view from content?

This is awesome. Tried to make some widgets, but i don't have so much ideas. Anyway the keyboard sometimes don't work, i must exit and start again, and sometimes back button doesn't go to previous page but exit the widget config. A possible overall preview would be nice(maybe full screen preview) since i make some changes and don't know how the widget will look. Another thing that i noticed is that when i select an element, in selection section it shows on center and nice aligned on every row, but when i put it on homescreen it's just one row after another. Here it's an e.g:
Selection:
---------
###
---------
**
Homescreen:
-------###------**
Also would be possible to take whole div, not only an element from that? I tried to take a div that contains some text and an image, but only the text was selected. This is a nice piece of work, keep up the good work.

Hi. Thanks. If you like it, please leave a comment on the play store - at this early junction good reviews will help us spend more time making things better
Regarding the preview - its in the works, though it is pretty complex to do. We will use our Prepaid Widget as a template, so you can have a look at that if you want a a preview of how thew preview will look...
Re many elements. ATM its only possible to select one at a time. We are working on an internal launcher which will allow you to move all the elements around. Its slated for release this month.

Review added on market. This would be huge, if you can implement multiple elements. Select one, two ore w/e elements and move them around, awesome!
Just something that i forgot to ask, sometimes it takes up to 150MB RAM, usually 50~60MB isn't a bit much?

It's a widget. Long press on homescreen, search for MetaWidget and start configure it:
- Enter a website, select an element(click on it then use the arrows from bottom to select between multiple elements)
!!! make sure you have the checkbox from bottom-left ticked !!!
- Click on the plus sign near the ticked box to select that element and go to widget preference screen.
- Configure the text alignment, size, background color, w/e...

We will implement multiple elements soon when our widget constructor comes out. Within two weeks the beta will be up.
Re ram - this is because of images. And of course the cache of the webkit browser, which once closed is shunted out of ram.
On modern devices this isnt a problem though...

I think that something may be happening with your web browser. Try to grab it directly from the product web site page here:

Let me know if you have any troubles getting it from there, although it is the same exact download link from that page.

Just use a file browser & rename to apk. That did it for me
That's very odd behavior, since the original download worked out just fine in our testing. Let us know if this is a problem for anyone else and we can look at alternative means of hosting the Recast APK.
The rename trick worked. Sweet looking app

Thank you. Give it a whirl, try out all the different widgets, themes, locations, etc and let us know how it goes.
We really do appreciate the feedback as that is what will help us build Recast into a weather + widget app that more folks will want to use.
I went ahead and made an alternative download link for those folks having problems with the first link. The first post is edited to show both options for downloading the beta apk now.
Hopefully that helps some of you who were having problems.
Hi,
Its an exceellent app bro.
Lots of customization options.

very intriguing, ill try this out.
Keep the feedback coming along, and thanks for the encouraging words.
Missing degrees °C
Actually, Celsius temperature settings are in there. Here's where to look:
Start Recast
Tap the gear icon (known as Settings)
Tap the Locations menu
Tap the name of the location you want to change temperature settings
Tap on the list item called Temperature Units and select Celsius
Tap the checkmark or OK button
Hit the device Back button
That's it, all done! You can also find KPH and millibar settings under Weather Data Units, change to 24 hour times, rename a location, set the time zone offset and more all in this same area.
Does that help solve your question?
Yes, i solve this problemThanks.
Good to hear that. I've added your question to our FAQ pages so that other folks can take advantage of your early request.

Although the C° is hard to find everything else is great and highly customizable.
Widgets are supreme but could add bigger ones if possible?

I like it, though a couple of things i would like:
a forecast widget that is sized at 4x1
refreshing the weather directly from the widget / manual refresh from the widget, e.g. having a small icon that refreshes the widget rather then opening the application and clicking refresh.
ICS themes
but so far so good.

Nice App so far. But i have two points of criticism.
The german translation is not very good.
Do you did it with Google Translate or something? If you don't speak german, or you know someone that speaks german who can help you. Just leave the App in english. [Same with other languages]. For most people its easier to read english that broken german.
Is it possible two make the notifications swipeable. Like it works with GoogleMail Notifications. Swipe too delet them.

First I hate to say, thanks for valorate my app and thanks for that advice
yes, i have used google translate as i have no idea about german lol if you could help me with translation it would be great!
respecting to the second point you have stated, okay, i will add a checkbox in the main app to make notifications deleteable with swipe, its just easy
but i have planned to add a widget first, so it will take about one week
anyway, thanks for the suggestions!
Looks great!
Fantastic for situations when you suddenly remember something important just as you've got into bed, but can't be asked to get up again and lo and behold you wake up in the morning knowing that there's something really important you need to remember but you've completely forgotten it.
No more! This app literally takes around 10 - 30 seconds to write a note, the app itself is ~127Kb and is simply a lifesaver.
I do have one reservation though: It appears that the icons that can be chosen are taken from the system/ framwork icons (am I right?) but they are badly organised, huge and pixelated and overlap one another. It would be great if you could size them down, organise them and make sure they don't overlap, but other than that I love this app will get 5* on the Play Store.

you are right, those icons come from the android rom... I think there was a method to make icons properly appear in the bar, I will try to implement it... thanks!
Looks great!!!

Finally someone made app better than nClip!
Thank you
Could You Please add all icons from google's developer guide pack ?
http://developer.android.com/downloads/design/Android_Design_Icons_20120814.zip
Very handy! Thanks!
Been using Notification app for a while. This seems like a very nice change for me. Especially more icons to use makes it even better. Great job.
I don't get the point of this app having vibration, light, and sound option because it notifies me on the time I create it; what is the point?
Good!

Love the simplistic Material approach. :good:
Pardon me for asking, but why two apps? What are the major differences between the two, could you elaborate?
Same question as above, but also: what Android versions does this work on? Play Store says both are incompatible with my phone (running 4.3 ).
Dunno if I'm doing anything wrong but it wont but after entering in my location it wont remember the location.
It doesn't qork for a lot of people. The reviews for the app are filled with this problem with location selection. Useless app if you can't put in a location.

I made Weatheroux⁺ first, however when I first released it, it was extremely buggy and did not work well across different devices. So a few months later I released Weatheroux², making use of material design. But then I realised it wasn't as attractive as Weatheroux⁺ so I decided to fully redesign and recode Weatheroux⁺ and roll out an update for it, so here we are!
As for big differences, Weatheroux² goes into more detail information wise. It provides latercasts and forecasts and even provides information on UV index hourly. Weatheroux⁺ provides more simplistic weather information and only shows a daily 5 day forecast.

Both the apps work on android 4.4 and above. I was thinking of making them 5.0 and above only, however that might restrict access to those who already had Weatheroux⁺ before I rolled out the update so I modified the code to cater to 4.4 users and 5.0 users accordingly.

Sorry about that, it didn't work due to high traffic. However it has been fixed now!
Yes, now it's working.

It is a font known as Climacons. It's widely used in many weather applications.

Okay thank you for the quick answer.
What did you think about get the location from GPS?
Hey. I could help you in translating your app into polish language if you are interested
In W+, if I choose metric and go back to the normal daily forecast and press back again it goes back to the temp settings. If I repeat it, it will never stop^^
It's possible to get an alternative download link than play store?

The widgets for W+ are a work in progress, however I am in the midst of releasing a 4x1 widget for W2. So just be on the look out!

I was never a fan of gps tracking for weather apps. I implemented it in the older versions of W+ but I was not able to perfect it. So I guess gps tracking will not be implemented in the near future.

I don't have a Google account.
it would be great if we could open apps from the widget in W²:
-Time opens the Clock/Alarm App
-Date opens Calender
-And the Weather opens W²
