EPST Settings for Telus
Hey,
I am looking for the same thing. I posted on both this and PPCGeeks forum. No answers re:Telus settings.
Did you by chance get them? Do you still have your TP2? And are you willing to help another looking for the same? A screen shot of the 11 or so screens with your person phone number blanked out would be easiets and appreciated.
Thanks
P.S I cannot do OTA programming as I am not yet with Telus. Using the unlocked GSM with Fido but wanting to switch.

Hey I have a Telus Provisioning I made for TP2
It might contain what you need: Here

Thanks negamann303 for trying. Unfortunately this is not what I am in need of. Please have a look and read through my original post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919249 .
You need to run the Launch EPST option through the program BAF MSL to get all the config info I am looking for. It is not contained in files or within the registry. The info I am looking for relates to the original "CDMA" programming of the phone to the carrier (in this case Telus)
Do you by chance have a Telus branded TP2? If so then installing BAFMSL.cab and running the program BAFMSL, select View option, and then Launch EPST (lower right soft key), then lower left soft key "View Info" and go through all the various pages will reveal the info I am looking for. Anywhere you see your own phone number, just block out.
Thanks for trying; this is what makes this forum a great resource...people who are trying.

How can I run BAFMSL.can on htc evo?

Canadian Kaiser - Getting It going and a new look

I just obtained a new AT&T Tilt (8925) (HTC Kaiser) and I want to use it on the Rogers wireless system in Canada. I can use the phone and text but cannot access the internet and MMS. I spent an hour on with the Rogers Techs and still couldn't get it going. Does anyone have an idea as to the settings I need for the internet and MMS? Also this phone has the AT&T "today" page. How can I change it to reflect the "today" page that I have seen on the HTC "Touch" as I like the big clock and weather aspects.

not sure how things have changed ( or not ) ... but I'd previously used this fine with my HTC S621 ... now I'm a TyTN II owner but swear against a data plan in Canada ... now that rogers also announced they will carry the "iPuke" ... owners will be charge through the roof to really benefit the multimedia plan needed to enjoy it !
if this work or not for you, update the result so that someone else can benefit, will ya ?

I have the AT&T tilt and found that the proxy on the phone is the problem. It is a hidden proxy and you will not see one set in the network options. To turn it off there are 2 proxy files in a folder in the programs menu. One to enable and one to disable. You must use the one taged "ProxyDisable".
Another way is to delete all the network settings and run an updated Connection Wizard file. I tried to attached the one I'm using but the upload keeps failing. The one I use will see the network header from your SIM card and set up all the proper settings for you. I have downloaded several and none seemed to have Canada in the list. The one I tried to attach will prompt if you want to setup on Rogers right away! Surf until your heart's content
Google for "HTCConnectionSetup 1_0_30726_1.cab" and run it directly from your phone.
As for the Kaiser default look you are refering to (also seen on the Touch), you can flash your phone with a cooked rom or the official HTC Kaiser rom. The Tilt is actualy a TyTN II (codename: Kaiser). The only difference with the Tilt is the missing front facing camera and the AT&T boot intro and software. I did not like seeing the AT&T logo on startup as I'm on Rogers so I flashed it with the original Kaiser rom. I have tried many other but currently have Dutty's latest rom and it works well and is feature packed. Another way is to unzip and run the HTC Home file (I could attach the file this time!) from your phone to get the Weather and clock.
I perfer the cooked rom method as they can be much faster and have all the "bloatwere" and trial software removed. Many of them have tools and apps that are very usefull. Check out the rest of the posts in this forum and you will find everything you need to know on flashing your rom, even how to flash back if you need to get the phone serviced.
they just jumped in & asked for help ... then we provided possible solutions for a small consideration ( feedback of what works & not so others could benefit ..etc ) ... and they can't even return the favour !!!

Um... read 3 posts up (my first post on this thread)???? I had answered the first person's question and it will answer yours
My pet peeves:
1. People who do not use the search feature or Google
2. People who do not read the thread they posted to
3. Answering questions that have already been answered by another person asking the same question in the same forum
ur not the only one with those peeves...i'm sure a lot of us have them..especially ones that are really active and helpful

Please Help with my confusion

I am very new to all this and definitely not ready to cook anything just yet. I had the AT&T Tilt and just got the Fuze today. I don’t want to ask questions that already have been addressed, but I have read so many posts that my head hurts--still not sure what I need to have/do. I loved the Kaiser Tweak.cab that I got from you guys for the tilt to set up HSDPA and other wonderful little tools…Is there a single cab file like this for the Fuze that does the same as the Kaiser did for the tilt? I tried using the Kaiser and it worked till I turned the phone off and back on…Help!!!! I miss the HSDPA and all.
Thanks and be gentle- its my first time….posting that is!
Gibby
Gibby,
One thing at a time my friend, what are you trying to do with your fuze?
Fuze Help
I am trying to find a single .cab file, if it exists, for the AT&T Fuze that will accomplish all the things the Kaiser Tweak .cab did for the AT&T Tilt. I would like to get the HSDPA speed back, the start screen animation to go away, and other functions that were in the previous tweak for the tilt. Please forgive me for not being clear, as that was my first post. Hopes this will help me get pointed in the right direction.
V/r Gibby
Ok, your device is aka Raphael so head over to that forum and have a look.
THere are some reg tweaks on this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413562
Also download advanced conf, works wonders on most phones
Also check out this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=419746
The Raphael forum is packed with tweaks etc so have fun and do some reading.
The above will do you for starters
Thanks
Just wanted to say thanks for pointing me in the right direction, and also didn’t know the device was called Raphael. I have downloaded a lot of things from this site such as the @essentials_upd1, which has a lot of cab files like the advanced config file in it. It changed my 3G icon to H like I was looking for, but is this true HSDPA or do I need to “cook” my ROM to get better results/true HSDPA. This is what I am having a hard time understanding. Thanks again for the help.
GIbby
no need to cook your own rom, as long as your network supports hsdpa your kool! and with all due respect my friend, yout prob not ready to cook yet

Verizon Ozone to Telus Snap S510 Keyboard Fix

I've attached all you will need to convert from Verizon Ozone keyboard layout to Telus Snap layout.
Thanks to all involved in development of SPL/Roms/etc and community support, all your work is appreciated! Please continue all the great work! Donation is beyond my current means, but I do hope this can help someone in the community.
*** This will convert your HTC Cedar (Ozone Verizon) keyboard layout
*** to the HTC Cedar (Telus Snap) keyboard layout.
I have only tested this with 3VO rom, but should work with any cooked rom for this device.
1. Copy eT9.Cedar.wwe.kmap.txt and KEYBD.reg to your device in a temporary location.
2. Copy eT9.Cedar.wwe.kmap.txt from the temporary location to \Windows and overwrite.
3. Import KEYBD.reg into your mobile registry from the temporary location.
4. Delete temporary location.
5. Reboot! and enjoy.
Rename any lnk to Short_Circle.lnk in the Windows folder to create a short press link for the "Inner Circle" button.
Rename any lnk to Long_CIRCLE.lnk in the Windows folder to create a long press link for this key, by default pulls up SMS.
The Included Short_Circle.lnk is a link to CeleTask.
The Included Long_CIRCLE.lnk is a link to Opera Mini.
Just some more information...
Okay so I am just going to provide the information I have come across doing this, this was my first attempt at flashing spl/rom or smartphone modification of any sort. I know there are at least two, if not more keypad layouts for this "same"/similar devices and did not find a whole lot of information on the keymapping between the multiple providers while trying to correct the Verizon Ozone layout to my Telus Snap layout. I did find the information on the eT9.Cedar.wwe.kmap.txt which did help on a "virtual" level and is necessary in the "full" conversion of the layout. With the cooked Telus rom available here and the 3VO rom, I did some comparisons and made a few attempts at layout correction. I copied the eT9.Cedar.wwe.kmap.txt from the Telus cooked rom to the 3VO rom to start all my tests since I knew there was a connection already. The KbdNopAll.dll is different but seemed to make no apparent difference, so I left this rom specific for less chance of adversely affecting the rom performance. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD] LayoutID seemed to hold the key to changing the base layout. Verizon Ozone had a value of 605 or 0x25D and the Telus Snap had a value of 661 or 0x295. I changed this value in the 3VO rom and I seemed to have a correct layout minus my "Inner Circle/My Circle" button. Which I found through information on here was an lnk file "Short_Circle.lnk" as well as many other keys could be changed through this. The 3VO rom does not contain this lnk so the button appeared to not function at first but once I created the link it worked like a charm. Now I found the contact search was still not working right so with a little more searching I found changing the values under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\PhoneKeyMatch\KeyboardMappings] to match the Telus rom corrected this problem. And it now appears I have a fully functioning Telus Snap layout in every application and situation that I have tried with the 3VO rom. I am not sure, though these seem like relatively generic changes and should be able to be applied so. If I have overlooked anything in the change over please let me know
And another thanks to developers and community! Awesome work.

Thanks ahead of time,
Pat
Uhm, I tried but in system it says I can't access itor info unavail. I'm not sure why , I got my HTC hd7 from bell, I am sure i unlocked it from carrier, I also have it developer unlocked. I've got registry editor on it, touchxperience, and loads of other apps. I've been able to anything else I've wantebutnot access the one folder.
Sent from my T9295 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
@nalgrim:
There is an easy solution for your problem.
just go into the last folder you can access and create a new one inside it with the next name in the string.
afterwards you have access to the folder which has been there before but just not visible.
I hope that helps you so that you can help bizpat72, because I can't find the list with carrier IDs anymore (there should actually be one somewhere within the forum)
I remembered the post about NoDo update with the trick of unbranding phone had the list. Rafael Rivera has that list, so you might contact him in this forum or outside. Or you can try to guess the string, typically it contain 5 letter as AAA-BB, which AAA stands for the abbreviation of the operator and BB stands for the operator's country. My guess is BEL-CA.
here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12475935&postcount=151
ROG-CA
or
LUS-CA
?? those are the only two CA on the list

[Q] HTC Trophy VZW 3D Run AutoConfig Data Disabled?

I followed Heathcliff74's guide to the letter on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271963
Made a backup and thought it was created (said it was, successful too).
Chevron Labs unlocked.
After deploying 'HTC Interop Unlock.xap' Connection Setup would not accept the db modification, presenting a warning that my carrier was not in the db.
For some odd reason I was able to install Registry Editor and Advanced Config. I also can confirm numbers '##634#', '##778#' and another '##3282#' which seems to be the same as '##778#' number working, forgotten what it is. Advanced Config for Mango does run but options do not 'stick' and it had 'Run AutoData Config' as unchecked. This I believe is my problem. I've tried checking it but it won't stick under a restart. After repairing connection setup (and reinstalling it) I can set my carrier back to what it should be but my 3G is gone. So I decided to check my backup...which Windows 7 didn't refresh my desktop to show it was actually deleted cause the backup failed. -_-; No previous backups.
Further Notes:
I'd like to also try at enabling tethering...Verizon. >_>
Settings->Cellular: APN is set to automatic.
Specs:
OS: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware: 2305.13.20104.605
Connection Setup: 1.13
I'm a developer in all things but WP7. Also got a bit of reverse-engineer in me but WP7 is strange to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
*Edit*
I've apparently got V2 drivers? Tango installed eh...Noticed I've not been able to select cellular modes...locked to CDMA?
*Edit*
My brother has the same phone but his is a few versions older (no updates). His Mode Selection allows for Global, CDMA, and GSM...Mine only shows CDMA...
I'm going to tinker around in ##3282# and with password 000000 it works, going to see if I can CDMA->Global this thing.
*EDIT*
I ##3282#ed on my brothers phone and it shows the following ENABLED but mine show DISABLED (will do a comparison of variables/params to see if I can fix this CDMA-only issue):
MOB_TERM_FOR_HOME
MOB_TERM_FOR_SID
MOB_TERM_FOR_NID
*Edit*
After setting these 'Enabled' and rebooting phone...Disabled again. ;_;
I've read around you can help hide your tethering if you set DUN NAI (for verizon) to exclude the dun prefix in the domain name. I can't tether but I'd like to know if this would work. Want to set up tethering.
Thank you all for your help...*echo echo echo*
Luckily I was able to revert back to a previous 'snapshot' backup of my phone and successfully unlocked my phone with the instructions in the referenced thread specific to Verizon.
Our Verizon Trophy's (SparkW) where recently added to DFT's supported list for HSPL (on Feb 15th). We can officially join the world of custom roms and not worry about manually applying Interop unlock.
You can read my guide on HSPL unlocking for SparkW to find out how to do HSPL, if you are interested.
While no Verizon rom is publicly available, DFT does have their Freedom rom in testing for SparkW. Read entire thread for more information.
Is my Verizon HTC Trophy (not HTC Trophy 7) a Spark or SparkW? I'm still on contract so I have to use Verizon networks...new to the WP7 scene, not sure about custom ROMs working on which providers etc. A complete 101 on 'So you have XXX Phone and you want to mod' would be so nice but eh, I don't know enough to write one. I did manage to Interop Unlock and Dev Unlock (Chevron) my phone but I had to force 8107 updates for a feature (Internet Sharing) to work since Verizon doesn't have anything above 7720. Interop Accesses seem down, can't change UserProcGroup to 5 for ICS. :/ Can't add Color Themes in Advance Config either. But I can deploy Interop xaps...
Verizon Trophy has CDMA and is codename SparkW. My HSPL guide covers unlocking it, but read my ENTIRE thread to find out who to contact for a rom to test. I'd get a hold of the test rom link before applying HSPL to the phone.
I did read a good bit of that thread a day or two ago and my SPL is a 2.1.X. :/ I've always wanted to debrand it and work on my own firmware for it after getting source of someone's build close enough to what I wanted. I just don't know if it'd be okay on Verizon's networks as far as working like a normal phone.
*Edit*
Reading again many posts, I've come to understand that HTC Trophy and HTC Trophy 7 are the same except HTC Trophy '7' is Verizon model?
First off, do not worry about debranding the Verizon Trophy (SparkW).. it serves no purpose (only on Spark/GSM Trophy does it serve a purpose).
The 2.01 SPL is easily downgraded to 1.03 so you can do HSPL (which is what my guide will show you). I'm not sure you've read my guide since the thread is really short (being as new as it is). I think you might be mistaking it for the guide for downgrading the original Spark (which is rather complicated). As I recommend in my guide though, you shouldn't do HSPL until you are prepared to install a custom rom (info on getting a pre-release from DFT in thread after a few post).
I wouldn't even try to rationalize calling Verizon Trophy anything else other then "SparkW" or "Verizon Trophy." Some GSM Trophy's are known as "7 Trophy" which makes matters even worse. GSM Trophy's codename is simply "Spark." Almost every other CDMA carrier picked up the "GoldC" (HTC Arrive on Sprint), so I doubt we'll see SparkW on any other carrier (and since it isn't on Sprint, we won't get huge 3rd party rom support). I curse Verizon for not following suite and making the GoldC the new TouchPro2...
I am working out the kinks of cooking a basic SparkW rom, but I can't really tweak it with the XIP rebuilding issues I am having. Man I miss PPCK, but WP7 cooking is in its infancy even today.
I am quite certain I read your guide. Perhaps I've read the wrong one. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1503298) It warns against 2.XX SPL and to wait.
When I meant I wanted to debrand my phone I did mean in terms of deving my own firmware for it. I'm mostly into SB6XXXs as of late (Docsis 3.0 modems more specifically) but these limitations imposed by Microsoft and Verizon in my situation just anger me a bit.
From now I'll assume Verizon's Trophy is 'SparkW'. Thank you for clarifying that. I thought about going Sprint or AT&T, I need an Unlimited Data plan and Tethering.
As far as building a rom, where might I get whatever compiler/packager (I dunno how WP7 phones take roms etc)? I greatly appreciate your clarifications and support.
