I'm struggling to get pbxes.org work with voiptalk.org. I can get incoming calls working, but pbxes.org doesn't seem to have anywhere to input the outbound proxy info. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

I'm trying to configure SIPDroid to run on a Moto Droid. I have a ViaTalk account that gives me parametes for Xten, Firefly and Eyebeam SIP clients, but no help for SIPDroid. My broadband connection is Verizon FiOS. I configured SIPDroid with what I believe are the correct parameters for Username, Password, Server and Domain. However, I don't have any port information from ViaTalk, so I left it on the default of 5060. I get a green dot at the top of the screen, but I cannot make any call, whether test calls or to a real number.
Does anyone have any expertise to share on this?
Thanks,
Steve
hey all,
i have a Captivate with no SIM card (only WIFI connectivity). i downloaded SIPdroid from the market and created a PBXes.com account.
i manually created an extension and trunk and configured inbound and outbound routing to access my iptel.org account. the iptel.org account makes use of my google voice number.
i get a green connection light for SIPdroid but when i place a call i only get echo on the line and a perpetual SIPdroid dialing screen. no ringtone, no answer, no ring on the other side.
any help with troubleshooting is much appreciated as im bummed out and all out of ideas right now. amidoingitrite in terms of sipdroid>pbxes>iptel>voice? thanks.
I believe you have to use the browser to initiate the call or an app such as Google Voice Callback.
Do you have your google voice number setup to forward to your sip number?
Does anyone use sip with voip.ms? I get no reception at all at my school but get wifi. Are there any free sip accounts available for canada? If not, I wouldn't mind trying out voip.ms for sip calling.
I already made an account, and got the username with the server name. Do I just need to add in funds and will be able to make/receive calls through sip?
I use voip.ms on my Nexus. I use an app called CSipSimple - I can't remember why I don't use the client that came with the phone, but I did have a reason.
Not sure how well it will work over wifi, I've only used it over 3G. I had to forward the ports for SIP to my ATA, so your mileage may vary.
Once you add funds you should be able to make calls using voip.ms. To receive them you'll need to order a DID through them.
Hope that helps
Thanks
Brian
I have setup Google voice in my retired mesmerize. I used the whole Google voice process with sip droid and pbxes.org. I am at the point where I am setup with the sip account in the dialer. At this point I can receive incoming calls with no issues. My problem is that when I try to make outgoing calls the phone just stairs at me like I am stupid for a bit while it tries, and then it times out. What am I missing. I can give you other info if it is needed. Thanks
If it's broken...beat it into submission until it works!
I got a real SIP phone and a DID for incoming calls from one of those places giving out free DIDs.
Using Google Voice to forward to the DID number, I can now accept incoming calls and trigger outgoing calls from the website (they ring first my phone, then the destination).
I would love it if there was a way to trigger a callback from the SIP phone (even if it is to a fixed number, since I could use my skype dial in number).
Any help what the best way would be to achieve this?
There is so much conflicting info and I admit that I know nothing about PBXs or anything (so some of the guides also make little sense to me).
Could definitely run some software on my (windows) server or on my dd-wrt router.
Thank you in advance.
