How to go about creating a theme...

I have ideas in my head for a sense theme but haven't the first idea on how to implement it. I would love to know what I need to do in order to create a theme and apply it to my device (and anyone else who would want it!) Thanks for your help guys!

FONTS FONTS and more FONTS (how to edit)

Hello there,
been here in this forum for a while and learned all by myself till now ... now I really need help for something .... look at the screens provided ... it`s from "Post your LEO screen" thread. It`s a nice theme, but I need to know couple of thing about the fonts:
1.Look for example at Settings tab screenshot .... how can I edit my font so it can change just the headname of the TAB not the whole TAB itself? In other words ... how to make a font that is different in different places of the phone?
I think I must modify some mode9 manila files, but I don`t know witch one is for what ... is there an editor like CHOME visual editor but for manila tabs ....
2. How can I change the colour of the text on font ... lets use the same SETTINGS TAB as example ... the text is WHITE and also grey ... how can I make the white for example BLACK ? What should I modify ... I think I must modify again some mode9 manila files but again witch ones exactly ... how to find out?
3. Look at MESSAGE TAB ... what should I modify for color text for time and SENDER of SMS ? Maybe is the same as changing the text color anywhere in the phone ... but not sure again how to do that ....

Asked the creator of the theme, but he seems to not understand what exactly I want ...
UPDATE : Here`s what he said : "there aer a few mode9 files except qtc files
so you can make shot at what mode9 manila files contain
for example
115191c7_manila contains messagetab
7c60907d_manila contains hometab & titlebar text...
and so on

I know that there are manila files that should be edited ... but how can I look at all mode9 files ... there are over 50 of them.
P.S. Sorry for double posting in HD2 Themes section, but seems there is no one capable of answering my question ...

Today Screen " Themes "

When pressed on the list of today screen themes. . .Like classic blue or HTC black. . . it changes the colour of the 2 taskbars. . .is there a theme or themes that also change the look of the taskbars. . (and the softkey one)

not sure to understand; are you talking about changing only the PNG files use by the top and bottom taskbar like in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=642832
For WM6.5.x look at the last pages.
If it's not that maybe explain better...

You must download the cab you prefere, copy it on your device and by FILE EXPLORER run the cab for instal it on DEVICE memory.
Soft reset for apply change. That's all.

Difference between theme and skin?

I don't have clear the difference between skin and theme

Sir I have 2 points to communicate.
First, Off topic questions are post in the "Q&A" ore "Off Topic Thread"
reason way: have a nice/clear site.
Secondly, pleas tray to use the search engine.
Don't see it wrong, I don't have the mention to attack you, but will tray to collaborate fore everyone, and let you know how xda works.

And to give you a answer; take a look on what my friend m0bmentality communicate earlier (I can not do it better):
Welllllllllllllllllll first you have to define "theme" there are alot of people with a Dinik Icon set and Dinik slider.. paired with a wallpaper of choice and call it a theme..
Then there is stuff like Buuf s theme and OrangeStreet that dig a little deeper than just a few icons and skins..
Then.. there is the THEMES... but before diving into a THEME.. know that even something like OrangeStreet (my first theme i did with ConanTroutMan) has over 1300 editted files in it.. and this was before i even knew about pngs in the windows folder or .dll mods , signing and unsigning certs, swype and t9 skins.. hell we could go on for days..

Start by skinning all the manilla files you can find..
Then take alot of the ones you dont know .. and write a number on them.. 1-whatever.. and upload them to your phone.. this will help you find the stuff that wasnt obvious on the first pass..
THEN edit the pngs in the windows folder of the phone..
THEN Open PE explorer and start cracking open dlls..
which requires signing and unsigning certs.
By now you will have lost 45 pounds...AND your wife ...and you dog will have died of starvation.. But you will have a theme that is nothing more than a heavy duty skin.
So then you learn .lua and registry editting.. lua there are entire college courses on lua btw.. coding.. and xml... and use this to move and push some stuff around.. and THEN youll have a full theme.

SOrry I think that the question about theme and skin can make in this section.
If I understand good,theme are the set between skin, icon set and sliders, right?

Not easy fore me (Not perfect in English, but will tray)
Skin = modifying / editing files
(is a part)
Theme = is a group of skins what make in total a Theme / and add other modifications on the UI
(is a completed environment modification)

ok ....so i bein trying to modify my apps trying to make the back ground transparent so heres the problem i dont know how to make it transparent i have read gides on how to make apk transparent but non of them talks about how to make the background transparent ..i read this gide that i have to delete the background but than when i put it back the background it white ....so i dont know what to do im really looking forward to this so plz help me if yall know how to do this >>>>> thanks..........i know i put another post of this in the other forum but i need help and nobody replying i know yall bussy im sorry!!!!!!!!!!!

i assume u know how to decompile the apk... 2 ways to do this you can do it in the xml the part that refrences the background image it also has the dpi settings for the background in it color what not u can add the transparency setting for it to..
or you can take your image in photo shop or equivlent and change the layer of the image to transparency and then adjust the hue of the transparency to make it lighter or darker depending on the color save it and put it back in the apk
