Um, what? Why would you want to use an HTC ROM (slowww) when the AT&T ROM is fast? Doesn't make sense, but no, I haven't seen one made yet.
I have a pre-release fuze that I would like to load a custom TP rom on, but I would need a cab file that switches the keyboard to the fuze layout. Something tells me there will be more people looking for it when the fuze is released in the near future. I dont know how easy it would be to extract it from a touch pro rom. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
keyboard cab to use AT&T Fuze ROM on HTC Touch Pro
What about the reverse? does anyone have a keyboard cab to use an HTC Touch branded phone wtih the AT&T Fuze ROM? Or will this work without a keyboard fixup cab?

Trust me, the AT&T ROM is faster than even custom HTC ROMs, but if that's what you wanna do I can't stop you, nor can I help you. I'm sure someone will be able to help eventually, but considering very few people have had the pre-released Fuze, nobody's going to be able to extract it. You may have to wait until release until someone can get the information, or ask someone how you could do it yourself. Good luck.
I have both the fuze and the TP. would be happy to extract it myself if somone could give me a quick lesson. DOnt know if its hidden some where in a cab file or if you have to create your own. If anyone could help I would sure appreciate it.
I ended up creating a fuze keyboard layout for aekmap. It will work until a better alternative surfaces. I thought Id post it if anyone else is interested. Instead of the function key just double press any duall function key to get the alternate value, and the function key is the caps lock key. I hope when the fuze is released a keyboard cab file will surface.
any updates on this? tried doing it myself, but failed... don't know what i'm doing. last major thing with custom rom on my fuze
If you download the file above and the get aekmap (They have a free version) , it works, but the keyboards a little slow, a fuze keyboard cabfile would be a much better option, but until the fuze surfaces on AT&T I doubt there will be to much interest in this.
I am looking for Touch Pro keyboard cab also. I cooked a rom with PPCKitchen and it only has Diamond keyboard and Touch HD keyboard. Diamond keyboard locks up in 123 mode after a few uses and Touch HD keyboard has the annoying UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT line. Does anybody know if that line can be turned off under OPTIONS?
Thanks!
In energy rom there is a program in utilities called keyboard selector and does the job fine. Although i tried to make it easier for you and search for the program and could not find it.
Its called ProFuze and his site is www.rollingtriangle.com but the title says not here. So i'm not sure where u can get it.
Possibly PM NRGZ86 for it

I think you are referring to this:

I think the biggest issue with windows mobile touch screen phones is its so hard to use it with your fingers because the interface is so tiny. I'm relatively good with Photoshop CS4. So I will be able to skin the whole thing and what not. I was wondering though who is interested to beta test this? Also should I cook it with 6.5 or 6.1? I would say 6.1 for stability issues but I run 6.5 right now its a super fast and not many issues. Also anyone want to help out with this project like be part of the team. Thanks

*Sorry if Im not allowed to post this mods =\ Just remove is you feel the need*
I'd give it a try when you get it working.
ill test it once its up and running
Alright Awesome Ill put you two down so far xD
I might just change my mind to and make it public but not sure yet.
Count me in. Thanks.
Just gimme the word and I'll help...I'd love to see a nice finger friendly rom. Also, just my opinion but i would like to see a 6.5 build...
Love to try it.
I myself hate using the phone while on the move. Especially the dialer. I'll be dialing one number and the damn thing will be dialing another. If you can setup a finger friendly dialer I'd love it!
You are aware that Shaps is going to release 100% touch rom "soon" ?
http://touchxperience.com/en/home.html
Don't know if u had similar thing in mind.
And it's probably better to cook it with 6.5
Can help with testing if needed.
looking forward to a finger friendly rom
i'll test your ROM
I would like to try this as well
sounds like a good idea (i alwas wished i was better at photoshop). what kind of programs are you going to use to achieve finger-friendliness? also, my recommendation would be to stick to Windows Mobile 6.1 as your base, or 6.1.4, as these are the most stable.
good luck coking
I'm new here, but i would love to be your beta tester. I have experience in Photoshop too..
Let me know if you need my help.
awesome
I am so sick of win.mo's lack of userf riendliness! I will srsly donatea lotta money once the Rom is done/ good/easy to use! anddd I will help testing too...I gotta an at/t tilt. Also...I recommend the following:
Browsers - Opera and Skyfire
GPS- TomTom...very fingerfriendly
Contact- either Yota contact or Icontact...and get the latest/fastest versions.
Home Screen- cook it such that when u hit the red/end button or hit "today" from startmenu...It goes to the UIprogram not default win.mo. homescreen. I reccomend either pointUI or a touchwiz theme or something.
Programs menu- cook it such that when u hit "programs" it opens touchlaunch
It'd be awesome if I see as lil of windows as possible. Plzz
Also....find a way/program that hides the startmenu when in like...the programs menu/etc....or a cool ap that when mapped to a hardwar button QUICLYm minimizes the windows startbar.
lastly ...I think we should base it off a phone...like completely iphone style - ifonz or a poseoff + icontact + s2p + s2u +s2v
orrr based on the omnia! with widgets ands hit. Make
as lil windowsmobile as possible!
Alright everyone sounds like a plan. I need suggestions for some things...I would like to make it native without a bunch of background software. Ill make a 6.1 version then if it succeeds ill cook a 6.5 version.
(Sorry for my slow reply =\ Got distracted by fall out 3. xD)

Sounds like you need SPB Mobile Shell. It is pretty much exactly what you just described.

Suggestions- throw in Remote Tracker
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394203
Also the video share from AT&T. I don't think there are any cooked ROMS that support it yet, but the AT&T stock ROM has it built in.
http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/messaging-internet/media-entertainment/video-share-faqs.jsp
Some other cool things to throw in- an instant messenger (maybe 2- one that uses SMS like Oz and one that uses data like Palringo), Windows Live (for the email), Smiley SMS, an RSS reader, an ebook reader, a stop watch/timer, a bunch of games, livecast and/or qik... Nobody ever puts these in their ROMs for some reason...
Ill throw in palringo it rocks at IM. Has most all the networks fast and looks nice. =] Alright ill add all those. Ill work on this today as I have time off of school as its a half day.
Resco Utilities are a must-have (explorer, contacts)
when i'm chattin' or when i type in a msg it seems that the keyboard takes to much space, i think that 65% of the display is taken by the keyboard, i want a smaller one !!!
help ? i have searched for keyboards but i only found bigger ones
thanks !
Try to install something else.
On all my HTC phones, including MEGA, I use "Resco Keyboard". Works fine for me.
i tryed PDAMedia Keyboard, and now i will try Resco to.
thanks!
better view on your screen
i whish the built in the block recognizer but unfortunlally the did not. If you know a wa to install it, it would give you a clear view on your screen since its not so big. By the way if you find a method to install that let me know. thanx
Is native keyboard available?
Hi,..
Just bought Touch 2...i feel HTC default keyboard is big (but its really nice for few apps i use!)
Is there anyway that we install the windows mobile default keyboard? or any registry tweaks to make the default keyboard appear on the options list?
try fingerkeyboard, its a bit smaller, i like the big chunky ones personally.
Try PCM key board...worked great for me on WM 6.1. Not sure how it goes with WM 6.5.
Included a few nice skins aswell, try which ones you like. Extract and put these in skin folder. You can choose various key board configurations and combine with skins.
Definitely smaller ones available.
Hello, I can't install Fingerkeyboard on my new HTC HD2. When I try install i got a msg "instalation unsuccessful". Any solution of this problem??
I have it and it works perfectly :/
for me too its working fine.
Can You send my your .cab? I try version 2.0 and 2.1 and instalation doesn't start Where is the problem? I don't install .net frame work yet.
Also works for me, however when backspaceing (deleting) it seems to skip some characters. A bit odd, but I guess the timings are just off a little...
I had a lot of problems with Finger Keyboard on the Leo/Sense Roms and HTC's messaging app. If I used the shortcuts such as a smiley, on some of them, the cursor would jump backwards after the smiley was shown.... It bothered me so much I went ahead and disabled HTC's app and used the standard windows one (and by doing so lost all integration with the contacts tab)
Can someone here who has this app please test the shortcuts for me on their Leo? I get mine in a week.... I can live with the HTC messaging but I simply can't do without the shortcuts like the ".com", "..." and smileys! I hope it works!
Thanks!

I dwnload form other source and now it's works. Thx
I get an error when I want to use FingerKeyboard on my HD2
The error says:
"Skin error: resolution for screen size not found!"
SOLVED: Found out that it was the wrong screen type version.

I have exactly the same problem. Actually, it does that issue each time I hint something else than A...Z : space, dot, coma, @ etc. each time, I have to wait 1 second before typing the rest, if I don't, the cursor jump back and I continue typing in the middle of the word if I didn't care. It's really a mess.
I have a Touch HD "1", with Geranium 6.5 rom. I thought Opera Mobile 10 was guilty, but I've juste realized the same issue while entering a new appt in Pocket Informant.
Solved
It was an issue with the 6.5 Geranium rom.
I've installed the 6.1 Barebone, and everything get right
so can i install the wvga v2.1 finger kboard ?
Finger keyboard doesnt work for HD2 .. can install but cant work well. Dont install till it comeout with new version ..
Happy New Year guys!
My buddy has a tp2 from uscellular and I'm trying to hook him up with morphgear. I can't get the keymappings to work I just get the 229 code. I know how to map the keys by using the virtual keyboard but I'm supposed to switch to the windows mobile standard keyboard and the problem is that isn't an option. I have only the HTC keyboards listed. Anybody able to shed some light on this? Can I add the winmo keyboard through a cab or is there a setting that is hiding it from the list? Thanks in advance!

Is it the stock ROM or a cooked ROM? Some cooked ROMs don't have that stock WM keyboard.
Try going to Start > Settings > Personal > Input. Look for Keyboard in the drop-down. That's supposed to be the WM keyboard.
Sorry if that didn't help (I doubt it helped).
Happy new year!
Thanks for the reply although it did not really help but that's ok. The stock keyboard s not listed in the settings menu either. It should be a stock ROM because it hasn't been changed since it was brought home from the retail store but I wouldn't put it past USCellular to have a custom build. Does anyone have the stock keyboard pulled from the CDMA TP2?
As far as my limited knowledge allows me to understand, if its not already in the rom then it has to be cooked in with a custom rom. I have looked everywhere for a cab and the responses I got from much more experienced people is that you can only cook it in. There is no reg entry to mod or cab to install. Try spb keyboard as an alternative. Its a bit bigger than the stock one (cuz its meant to be finger friendly) but it has all the features that the stock one has. I would post the cab I have for it but Im not sure Im allowed to.
PRBajista 9:
ok, sounds good I will try spb keyboard and hopefully it will let me map the hardware keys in morphgear. Can anybody on USCellular confirm the omission of the wm stock keyboard?
