yeah i need this logo but for 6.5!! my logo is in the top left corner! i think its a shellres.192.dll???

Okay, it have take a lot of time to find it out, but I have find it out for you! so just installed this cab and normally it will works.

thanx a lot, but after i have installed this. the corner is just black! No logo! Only black :-(
can someone give me just the file in there the logo is saved? Not a cab just the file then i can edit this by myself

WM 6.5 don't make yous from a simple image! but from a .dll file!!
but here you have the extract .dll file! location to install is windows!!
but strange that the cab don't worked to you!

i dont know :-( ok i copy&replaced the file into the /windows but now the logo is only black too :-(
did u have the original shellres.192.dll ? I think its not the 6.5 shellres! cause the button is away too i cant go now to "Start"

when you connect your device to pc, you used simply your explower go to your device, internal memory / Windows you orden it by type simplyer to select, take a selection of all your files you will and copying it to your pc!
simple!
ps it will take a time thair are almost 3000 manila fils! but it works I do it always.

thank u but with the cfc gui i only can copy the manila files and NOT the shellres.192.dll wich i need to change the window logo in the top :-(
is there a possibility to copy that shellres.192.dll from my device to my pc, cause always when i try this, it comes " cant copy file....." i tryed this with the totalcommander :-(
ok i found the extractor tool. i changed my shellres192.dll and put the htc logo inside siggned it and copy back to my device. after reboot i had to made a hardreset again cause sense doesnt start. i hate wm 6.5 with 6.1 it was so easy to change the damn logo....

whay you make your live so complicated, whay you don't installed a Wm 6.5.5 version? I know some user will say it's not the same, but onnes After one week I changed my rom to a 6.5.5 version and I must say it's now more than 6 mounds that I used it and personality I don't will return to a 6.5 version!

you need to change dll file with your own icon ,if you install the DJC leo taskbar ,there is already another wait cursor with blue points turning around.

You need to use a resource editor like PE Explorer (not free) or reshacker (free) and edit the embedded images within the shellres.xxx.dll

The Windows folder. Odds are you won't be able to copy and pasteit out. You'll have to extract it from the actual NBH file of the ROM.

I have a question: i have installed the Dusk theme and there has changed the waiting animation - there is now a black bar in the middle in which a green line is running. I would like to have the Dusk theme with the original WM 6.5 "waiting" animation (the 4 colored points). Could you provide me the original dll? BTW, ich couldn't find shellres.xxx.dll on my HD2. Used Resco Explorer and File Explorer. Searched in windows.

Look for shellres.xxx.dll.mui in the Windows folder then.

I now found the shellres.192.dll in the windows folder and modified it, using Reshacker. But when I copied it back to the windows folder the phone crashed.
Should i have the shellres.192.dll unsigned before editing? What's signing/unsigning good for?

You don't need to unsign it before editing, though it is a good practice, but you do need to sign it after you're done editing it. And I always use a cab to place it into the Windows folder.

I flashed my HD2 to the newest official ROM and i discovered that it's not possible to rename and/or delete system files like manila files anymore!
Why is this??
With my old ROM i could rename manila files to *.bak and then delete them using Total commander but with the new ROM this isn't possible! I'm really desperate, I don't know what to do!
Could it be that HTC made the new firmware more secure?
Any solutions???
I found out that I can't copy my welcomehead to the windows folder anymore...it just wouldn't let me...
there has to be a registry entry somewhere, just can't find it at the moment.

I dont have the phone yet or WM6.5 so I cant comment too much but you could try reflashing the rom and see how that affects things. Did you flash the rom using a gold card or just update an official rom?

sorry for the noobness, but what does a goldcard do???? I have an image which was e-mailed to me after i placed my CID on a thread here. How do i go about using it. Is there anything on the web i can read up regarding this?

Rename your new welcomehead from welcomehead.192 to welcomehead.193 and copy it into the windows folder. Then use the Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 (it needs MS Framework 3.5 to be installed to work) and go to Splash Screen. There you have to click the first green entry and change the path from windows/welcomehead.192.png to windows/welcomehead.193.png. Then Softreset. Now you have a new welcomehead, even with new ROM. Have fun!

Make it the way i told you, you don't have to change something in the windows folder to have a new startup screen.
^I did it and it worked great. thanks
But there are some other issues...for example if you want to enable navi panel or hidden games you need to copy some files into the start menu folder but that is not possible because the ROM won't let you.
any solution for the others?

Now i´ve got my brand new Touch2 and have a problem with the nwe GUI...
I don´t like the new start menu, i want the old one back.
Is there a way to get back to the old one?
Or is WinMob 6.5 just an optical package, so that there is no chance to use the old startmenu again?

Attached file is a CAB (installation setup file of windows mobile).
So just copy the CAB file (setup file) into your windows mobile, goto fileexplorer & click it to install

trying to change my start icon used both Restorator 2009 & ResHack and neither of them does the trick for some reason, i have extracted the shellres.192.dll from my HD2 and opened it on both of the those apps and replaced the icons 4609 & 4620 with my own 32 x 32 icon file but all i get after reboot is a blank are where the button should be and the text start and the button is not touchable nothing happens.

good question. I have no idea. lol. sorry.
I don't fully understand taskbar editing. So here is the process i've done on a 6.5.x taskbar.
-Grad the .dll and drag it onto the UnSigner
- create 32x32 png convert to xp colors using icoFX/Axialias Icon Workshop(for converting higher resolutions to .icos e.g the dropdown taskbar in 6.5.x)
-Replace icon using ResHack
-sign it with msigntools
-cab using WinCE or whatever tools are available for download, set the directory to /Windows, install reboot and you have your icons on the taskbar
Just make sure it's the correct version for winMO, i've been using 6.5.5 dll's as a base in all my taskbar works.
Also a simple google search can help you gather up the files.

If you need to place your patched .dll files you need to add them in a cab file first.
Send me your dll files patched by pm i will do a cab tomorrow night after office if you want
I have to first download the file from the phone to edit it... that's what I can't do.

How to change the Start Up screen
Choose the file you fancy, rename it to welcomehead.192 and copy it to /windows folder on your device. Restart, Enjoy!
All files are in .png format and if you copy them as it is and just rename them to welcomehead.192, it should work. Please let me know if it doesn't
How to change Splash screen
a) I have also made an animated .gif file if your ROM has a splash screen, you could replace it.
Splash Screen will ONLY work if your ROM already has a splash screen cooked into it. If you are using a custom ROM where splash screen has been removed, then you can't use the animated screen. If you try to install, you won't see any change! Don't worry, it won't brick your phone!
in HKLM\Software\Toshiba\StartupAnimation:
Enabled (DWord) : 1
GIFFile (String) : \windows\animated.gif
Change the one in BLUE to the WM_animated.gif, so that new animation file will be used instead of default 'animated.gif'

Miro, if possible, can you please test the animated splash screen on tg01? I can't. I think in your ROM you have removed the splash screen. If I get feedback and suggestions, I am ready to bang out some more of these babies

the standard name is animated.gif pls. rename bevor
the speed of the animated Icons is to high- i think a good value is half from actual speed.
to test: stonROM has enabeld the animated function
(my cab not works . when i cooked in works fine)

It not work om my TG01? I'm with original Orange ROM.
Where I made a mistake?
I choose ".jpg file with 480x800x24 BPP with changed name to welcomehead.192 . I put the file to windows folder on my TG01. After restart, nothing changed.

in my case I renamed the file to welcomehead.192.png and then it should work.

I will try to flash stonROM tomorrow and see if it works.
Also will put in first post so everyone knows that it will only work on ROMs where splash screen is cooked in!

Try changing the name to welcomehead.192.png and it should work. All the files I have updated should be in .png format
WinMo will only use the file if it's in .png format.

u can use an external file explorer like Resco file explorer. In properties of file, untick system and hidden. Once u have replaced the file simply put the ticks back for new file. Hope this helps

You should be able to replace Orange splash screen with animated.gif - animated WM screen in the first post. You need a registry editor like Resco registry editor or total commander in order to make the registry changes I mentioned in first post.
Aha, now I understand. I'll try again wit WM_animated.gif from your first post.
