does anyone know of an app that can play .flv format videos?
Yxflash video player. But its not the best quality. When adobe air gets released there will be some good ones.
Is this still needed in Froyo with the built in flash? Or is Froyo flash only in the browser?

So i just came from the hd2 and i liked the music player on it. The evo's player is way different and im not happy with it. is there a way to get the hd2s or similar player layout?
Video.. what program can i get that will play mp4 avi and all the other codecs?
Do i need to root to be able to do any of this? or can i install some app?

What about the video player? I can't get some of my mp4 videos to play on my EVO. I will get sound but no picture.
Title pretty much says it all, I'm running the stock 2.1 AT&T rom.

The captivate plays FLVs out of the box. If you are referring to online flash videos there are no apps that will add that functionality. The Skyfire browser offers access to some online flash videos, but I never had any luck getting that to work.
If you have an FLV on your phone it should play with no problem. My phone has trouble with some DIVX encoded videos but it has never failed to play a flash video.
Online Flash videos will not work unless you have 2.2
VPlayer works pretty well.

i use wuzhenhua player... it can play flv... but very slow...
vital player, rock player, but of course, it's a software decoding, so don't except playing hd file fluently. A tip, if your video come from youtube there is a great chance that inside the flv container it's h264/aac. So you can use a soft like xmediarecode or super to convert only the container in mp4 and keep video and audio has is. It's fast and with a mp4 container, you can use phone video player with hardware acceleration.

ive been using arcmedia to play mpeg / avi / wmv files ever since my first android device a few years ago. Just downloaded it on to my chacha but it doesnt seem to work at all - not sure if tis a gingerbread issue.
Any suggestions for an alternative video player?

I dunno on chacha because i wont play video on this small screen, but moboplayer play nice on my gtab running gingerbread.
Hands down mx player is the best player for life. FLV files and all. UC Browser is really good when it comes to download files off the web. For the most part MX player finds it and is able to play it. Some files i download off the web is not being picked up by MX player. Normally they are FLV. Has this happen to anyone ?
