First, are you doing a hard or soft reset? To do a hard reset go Start > Settings > All Settings > System > Memory or Clear Storage. If you do not have that option, pull out your battery, put it back in the phone and hold the volume down, send and end key at the same time, then restore to factory default.
If you are still getting this error take it back to sprint!

yes i've perform 2 times of hard reset. all by buttons combo (yes, no and power button). but it still happen each time i soft reset the phone. I might have a bad ROM inside. is flashing to newer ROM will give me a chance to fix this issue? thanks for the reply

Just reflash the stock 2.1 or 2.5 rom. My guess is that you have a bad flash. Also do a task 29 before installing the stock rom again.

just reflash to winmo 6.5 stock rom. and now all back to normal. thx a lot.
Btw, what is task 29? am sorry, i am a very noob

task 29 is the process that clears the storage of a phone, it happens before each ROM install. They have isolated the process and created an install for task 29, so it acts like something installs, but your phone memory is being cleared. After you run task 29, go into bootloader and load your favorite ROM (either through USB or SD card). The purpose is to have a fresh install each time.

Hard reset vs rom upgrade

Hi, This is a strange question, but would like to know the answer ASAP. What is the difference between a hard reset vs rom upgrade with the same ROM?
Will there be a difference or it is the same, ie it will bring the mobile to the same state as when it was upgraded to that new rom?

Hi, I did a hard reset instead of upgrading the same ROM again. But I noticed something. I had installed WM7ish.tsk theme before the hard reset. After the hard reset this tsk file I could still see the Home settings. Your ROM (as I am using the MSD 6.5.1.7 - 23085) doesn't have WM7ish.tsk. But even after hard reset this was still there. But if I do a ROM upgrade, it erases this too. Does this mean, there might be few settings, installs, registry entries, which wont be erased even after a hard reset?
Hardreset and flashing the same ROM again is not the same!
Flashing a ROM does not delete everything! That is the reason why you should always do a hardreset after flashing!
You can test it. After flashing the clock still has the right time. After a hardreset the time is reset to initial values. Time is not the only thing that does not get reset by flashing.

Hi, Yes you are right. But I am saying, when I hard reset the theme was not deleted, which is not part of the rom. I thought it will be like doing a complete format with a new rom and nothing will be there.
If I am right u mean to say, I should have done a hard reset when I had upgraded the ROM. But the wm7ish.tsk, I had never installed before. It was only after the ROM upgrade

@umasiva:
I didn't realy answered your posting! It was just an answer to the main question of this thread and to the people who said that it would be the same.
Your problem is very strange! As I said befor, a hardreset deletes more than just flashing the same ROM again. Make a hardreset, softreset if the rom tries to install something from ext-rom at first boot and then doublecheck if the file is still there and if it has the rom-file-flag.

how to find out on the rom-file-flag? Actually after a rom upgrade & hard reset, still the wm7ish.tsk is still there.

[Q] reboot loop

My g2x keeps rebooting over and over again! This happened after i mounted it to my pc. it tries to read my sd card then just reboots over and over again. I have nv flash and tried to restore old back up but still does it. can any one help im thinking i need to flash stock.
you need to do a factory reset if your nandroid backup doesn't work. if that doesn't work reflash the rom.
I already did a factory reset and wipe and tried to re install the rom. it just continues to reboot. It starts up and if quick i can get into my lock screen and access things but within seconds it reboots and continues to do that
What rom are you using?

I was hoping it was something simple like undervolting with a custom rom. I wish I could help. It sounds like you tried everything I would recomend. Maybe one of the real Android techie type guys can help you. I am still learning myself.

LG Optimus Hub (E510) Black Screen after Factory Reset

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and would appreciate if I can get some ideas on how to fix my problem.
Ok heres what i did:
Some time ago i rooted my device and everything was perfect, but lately i keep getting errors so I decided to perform a factory reset to fix them all.
Due to my inexperience I totally forgot that after i rooted my smartphone i decided to remove the LG Home apk along with the stock browser and the Searck apk from my device, so right after the factory reset and after the initial configuration I got stuck with a black screen, therefore I can't do anything.
I tried long-pressing the MENU button, therefore, I cannot access the Google Play app through the Search to install a launcher, so, I don't know what else to do.
I really need your help, because I'm not able to purchase a new device at this moment.
Any ideas?
Thanks!!!
Flash a new room. Maybe? Do u have cwm on ur phone???

I assume if you rooted your device go ahead and find a guide for installing cwm ( if you dont have already).
Then pick a custom rom and put it on sd card ( make a folder on it and name it ROM for easier finding) and put the rom into it.
Before you "install from sd card" do: factory reset, wipe cache....then go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache.
Then go back choose " install from sd card", choose rom folder, hit on the rom, install, reboot done.
For more help pm me just cause I have a lg E510 as well and its running cyanogen 7
If i helped hit " thanks"
Thanks!!!

[Q] Factory reset?

So I'm S-off, Firewater, SuperSU, CWM, stock software, I have not loaded a ROM, fastboot flashed the nohbootimg firmware update, added the HTC browser, and flashed the OTA-killer.
Can I do a Factory reset without it messing something up? I'm having 3 issues that I want to see if a reset will fix, one is my alarm clock keeps turning itself off, another issue is that when I turn the phone on it seems to take a long time to "Prepare Sim card" , and the last issue is that I get a email "login failed" notice which is poping up before the phone starts seeing the data connection.
Thanks

If you are simply stock and rooted... you can factory reset using CWM without any issue.
Worst case scenario if you are backed up...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52115727
Since you have not installed a ROM I would think a factory reset would be a good first step. You will probably lose some if the customization you have done, but I wouldn't think you would lose root or anything like that. I believe a reset will just wipe the data partition ( maybe dakvik and cache as well).

Thanks! Just curious, I'm trying to learn as fast as I can , how does CWM reset differ from the the stock one?
And do you think that the CWM reset could help with the issues?

They both typically wipe the same partitions however the stock recover also resets some radio elements which is why you will always see me suggest to someone with radio issues to do a factory reset from stock recovery.

I used the reset in CWM and I'm going through the setup now, I guess we'll see if this helps. Thanks guys!!!
Well the alarm is staying on so far and I'm not getting the email login failure but I think I lost my CWM, guess I'd better reload it.
Interesting, I can't seem to get into my hboot mode? hmmmm
nevermind, I'm a dolt, forgot to turn off fast boot and I Still have CWM but when I select reboot I get a message "Root access possibly lost. Fix?" Anyone know what this could mean? Should I Pick "Yes - Fix Root" . I'd assume so, what the heck lets see what happens. lol

#1 rule make a backup in recovery before tinkering
Aside from restoring a backup, the easiest way to get your phone working again would be to flash a fresh ROM. For example, Albertos AOSP is quite stable and up to date. You will need that ROM.zip and a compatible gapps.zip. wipe everything clean and flash those in recovery.
You will lose all your data.
I do not know what TextNow is, but if you need the "stock ROM" you may need to restore factory firmware via PC- you will lose all your data
What exactly are you trying to do?
