Winmo skeleton - General Questions and Answers

Recently I did a sprite backup and upgraded my palm treo pro to winmo 6.5 (thks to the people at treo pro forums ) And I don't really want any of the software except for the java game data. I was playing meboy pokemon and I really don't want to restart so is there anyway to restore only that java data/software or is it not possible? It would be appreciated if a skeleton was provided...

Operating the games - navigation with fake cursors doesn't work

Hello Everybody,
I've installed a new ROM (WM 6.1 Pro RuraROM) in my tornado [SPV C600] some days ago and I have a problem.
I know there are many cool games for these kind of ROMs such as Warcraft II, Fallout, Orions: Legend Of wizards, Heroes of Might & Magic 2 and many, many others.
I've installed FakeCursor v1.07 and SPhepler but the cursor doesn't show up in any games I've installed so far. The cursor blinks sometimes but it doesn't do anything .
My question is: How did you handle this problem and how do you operate the games in these kind of ROMs? I mean every "Windows Mobile for Pocket Pc" installed in Tornados, such as:
- WM 6.1 Professional (Ham3r's ROM, BlackRura V8 WWE, TornFlo 2D, by Kamikaze, etc.),
- WM 6.5 Professional (5.2.21169 build 21169.1.6.0, etc.),
I think that almost every one that is changing the system to PPC in their own Tornados are thinking about playing the games in the future.
Thanks for any answers.
yep! thats the major drawback. In my liking, I love WM6.5 standard alot more than those professional versions.

WM Professional <> WM Standard intercompatibilty for PIM data

hi all
well, im delving back into the Smartphone scene once more after my original Tornado device got stolen (i was the original developer of WM6 for it if you all remember along with philip!)
I've purchased my shiny new Blackjack II and its on its way
the only thing that im wondering is,
is there any software out there, free/commercial which will allow me to sync my SMS inbox/email/contacts/calender between both my PocketPC Touch Pro and my WM Standard BJ2
any ideas?
many thanks
Use PPCPimBackup or use Microsoft MyPhone!
many thanks for your reply.
Just to confirm,
Does PPC PimBackup work on a backup made off a windows mobile professional device.
Many thanks
yup, no problem whatsoever. i have used it to sync my pro and std device.

Which ROM is better - WM 6.0, WM 6.1 or WM 6.5??

Hello,
I think about flash ROM, but I want to hear your views on ROM, which has come out, if I do have meaning or not.
Are newest ROM better then original WM 6.0??
Thank you for your opinions and advice
6.1 is probably the best.
runs great, no bugs, fast.
6.5 has newer features, and a much better interface, but has a bit slower response time, and uses a bit more ram.
when you go to install one of them, try them both out. it only takes a few minutes to flash, and it will give you a better idea of which you prefer.
and how it is with sms?? Can I restore it in WM 6.1???
can you post links to download WM 6.1?? But no lite edition or edition with x-apps...i need normal edition...
thank you
You can backup your messages with different tolls like Sk-tools or SPB Backup.
The WM6.1 ROM you will find here (http://rapidshare.com/users/PJNMEM/?byfilename=1&password=&subpassword=) at the very end of the page, it si called:
Treo750_OS5_2_19199WWE_STD.rar
How can I backup sms?? With spb backup, please heeeelp, or sk tools

that would be another easy way, just install the cab, ... select the things you want to backup, and where to, and it do it.
this would be an option if you want to move everything to your outlook --> http://www.jeyo.com/extender.asp
or in case you want to backup it online, use MS Myphone
once you installed one of these things they should be mpore or less selfexplanatory
good luck
resco is the best backup and restorer of contacts, messages and stuff, imo.
wm6.5 esp
Windows Mobile 6.5 professional (UNOFFICIAL)
SO CE 5.2.23017 (compilacion 23017.5.3.0)
estable and fast

[Q] OS Question

Greetings All,
I am a newbie to any sort of forum and I wish to express my thanks in advance for your help.
I have been a WM (HTC Tilt WM 6.1) user for 4 years. Just recently I have been having issues with my phone and I need to purchase a new phone, but I totally confused on what to purchase.
My Tilt has the following programs installed, that I use on a daily basis:
Voice Command, Note2Self, SPB Wallet, SK Tools, Skype, Handy Shopper, in addition to the WM Office suite.
These are the programs that work well for me and I am comfortable with.
My question is this>
Can a widows 7 Phone do all the above or do I find a used WM 6.1 or 6.5 phone…will I like WM 6.5 better?
Or dare I say it…an Android?
Since your a windows mobile user and I'm guessing your most familiar with that os I suggest the touch pro 2 or the HD2. The touch pro 2 because it's a user friendly device, nice sized keyboard and purely reliable. The hd2 is also a nice pick it has a 4.3in screen an extremely fast processor and the touch is pretty sensitive/similar to the iPhone. You can go to htc.com to check the specs and see what you like best.
These are both 6.5 wm capable phones and the HD2 can flash wp7. I personally like winmo over android because of office suite but android is not bad either.
thanks for the info...what does "flash wp7" mean?
The HD2 has a very active dev community and one of the things they have accomplished is to port other operating systems to the device. So you have a choice now between keeping it on the stock WM6.5, or 'flashing' an alternative OS like WP7 or Android.
If you bought one yourself you would have the added bonus of being able to use the apps that you are familiar with.
Thanks for your thoughts.
What about the new HTC Inspire...any thoughts?

[Q] how to Get Back to WM 6.5 ?

Hi Everybody !
you all know how strange it might be some requests form your boss but this is the most strange one !
My Boss has a system that work on WM 6.5 only and doesn't work on WM 7 and he requested that I should Provide him with 40 New WM 6.5 devices !
you know that they are not available currently So I figured out that I should buy new WM 7 Devices and Flash it Back to WM 6.5 !
I think theoretically this is possible but have anyone tried it ?!!!
I want to Try it on HTC 7 pro Device , Could anyone tell me what the steps I need to do that ?
any other suggested Devices ? I only want it to be New ,with QWERTY keypad and I can install WM 6.5 on it !
Can this be done with an Android Device ?
Thank you all in Advance.
Not possible.
Contact your business carrier and see if they can get anything, otherwise tell boss it is no longer made and WP7 is not an upgrade but a new product which is incompatable and nowhere near as good as WM6.5.
Just tell him MS have lost the plot.

I feel your pain mate, WM6.5 was great and MS have taken a huge leap backwards. We're not alone either, their market share has plummetted due to the move as people have either desperately scrounged for WM6.5 devices or moved to Android and had their in house apps re-written or found new alternatives.
WP7 and winmo 6.5 are completely different and not backwards compatible as said above.
Winmo 6.5 was good, but Mango is promising, however, specifically written programs written for business are a different ball game, get on to ebay and buy some HD2's, unless you know a developer who can re-write the programme for WP7?

There is no Upgrading for the System !
I will try the HD2 Choice.
Thank you for your support.
The hd2 is awesome. I've had win6.5, win7, ubuntu and a ton of android versions on it. If you have an issue, just wipe it clean and start over.
