battery percent mod for froyo? - Nexus One Themes and Apps

I know custom roms will be out soon and bla bla bla bla... in the meantime, was wondering if anyone has found a battery percent mod that works with 2.2?
thanks

No mods, your best bet is Battery Indicator which sits in your notification area, it's what I used on my G1 back in the day, I've reinstalled it just until CM6 comes out

Pls Healp - Froyo Notification Bar - i896

Hello,
I am using a Non rooted Rogers canada samsung captivate.
I recently upgraded through KIES to Froyo.
The two issues I am having are:
1) Wifi, i use juice defendor, so when i enter my house wifi is enabled automatically, many times, there is an error, and i cant click wifi on until a reboot, then it works fine for a while until it will happen again.
2) The notification bar doesn't slide down at times, and the only way to fix this is by rebooting. These two things are very annoying as they happen on a daily basis, or every other day.
I have seen these issues happen to others, so I know im not the only one, but I cant find a solution anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated.
anything i can do? would a factory reset help and a full reinstall?

It might but to be honest I have never seen a stock rom that is not buggier then any custom rom i have run. What you could try is start from scratch and see if the prob happens on an out of the box set up. If it does then it is an issue with the rom, if not then install your apps one by one to see if one of them is covering it. My advice? Grab one of the custom roms build from the Rogers 2.2 update like Cog or Firefly.
Try uninstalling juice defender.
I had the same problem with notification panel not sliding down after installing juice defender. I uninstalled it and the problem went away.
Did you solve the problem with the notification dropdown? Was it Juice Defender? I am experiencing the same issue.
I have problem number 2 too. No juice defender or any power saving tool or what not running in the background. Happens only once in a while although so its not killing me
Same problem here. I can't pin it to a specific program. But I think it has something to do with a certain notification because it always does it when I download a program or install a new program.
I've experienced both but after OCLF (which requires root) the notification bar issue doesn't happen. I've recently moved on to a stock kernel injected with voodoo lagfix (courtesy of supercurio) after having tried speedmod which gave me horrible battery life.
My battery life is good enough that I just leave wifi on all the time to avoid issue #1. When the wifi issue happened, going to airplane mode and back would fix it too without a full reboot.
k the best thing to do in your situation as people new to xda is if you are unrooted and want to stay that way go into the rogers store and say your touchscreen is buggy which to me seems like the issue you are having. also if your on the stock rogers 2.2 as i was for a coupple months all i can tell you is that its super buggy (as you could probobly tell from that terror they called an install). if your confident and want to get your feet wet with a great custom rom i would go with firefly that should fix any issues you have its a fuly stable final release and best part its based on rogers software not at&t so it will work flawlessly with the network and most likley fix any problems you are having
Don't use 100% pure stock
Use tweaked - with EXT4 LagFix, OC/UV, Sideloading enabled, rooted, VoodooSound, with GPS fixes.
Older Cognition 3.4 was Rogers based - I can recommend that.

Issue with dexter's 0.4 motoblur update

Hello,
I installed dexter's motoblur 0.4 update but i can't login to blur. the status bar goes all the way to the end but never finishes logging in...is this an issue with my data? because I've my data turned off....but I'm connected to the wifi really well.
Also, can't get into recovery mode after installing it. any one else having this problem?
yeah the same issue, maybe i had to update from stock 2.1 and not 2.2.1
I was running stock 2.1 but my xt720 was rooted and had apps2sd running. Everything went really smooth during the recovery of 2.2.1 v04 but at the end the phone keep rebooting itself. I ended up removing the SD card and that stop the rebooting. I can't finish the MotoBlur login process either and the default interface (widgets and all) don't come up. What should I do?
I finally gave up on the BLUR version. I installed the GalaxyXT and all is better now, the phone performs really good. When my phone was running Blur I wasn't getting 3G and it was very slow to open anything.
That's not the only issue with the Blur ROM. I do have to say that your issue is something that happens and sometimes not. But the Blur ROM does have issues, unfortanetly. It's probably due to the fact that the Blur ROM is ported from the Defy.

Virtuous Unity Q&A

As some of you have come from the captivate know what I did there with Rom Q&A threads. I am doing the same here. In an effort to clean up the site. All Rom related question shall from now on be posted in the proper Q&A or will be deleted on sight.
I just flashed this ROM (version 1.31.0) and have to say I'm pretty happy far.
My only questions so far are, should I flash a different kernal or wait for the next release? Is there a preferred radio? And I'm having issues getting the 5 signal bar mod to work correctly. I downloaded the updated one that should show H and H+ depending on signal but it doesn't work. I do get a 5 signal bar from the mod but that's all. I miss my downloading/uploading H+ symbol.
Does anyone happen to have a circular percentage battery for this version only with the green dotted line that changes colors from blue to red as it goes down? I could only find a green one.
Thanks.
Edit : The signal bar started working correctly.
Edit 2 : I figured out that the signal bar doesn't show 3G, E, or H+ any time WiFi is on.
Flashing a different kernel is entirely up to you. The included kernel works very well. There is a circle battery mod add on like the one you are asking about is somewhere in one of the posts. If I happen to come across it I will edit the post to include it. As always should be done, make a back up before flashing any new mod.
I'll probably give the kernel a try. Should I use v3 or v4? There were a bunch of battery ones for an older version but I haven't seen one that has the dotted line circle that changes color as well. Really liking the ROM so far.
I had weird issues with V4. So did a couple of others. V3 Seemed to work better for us. Also I just remembered that the framework was changed in the latest version, so a lot of the previous mods will not work or will change some things and may cause problems. Make sure any mods you flash are recent. That battery mod may have to be re made again.
Alrighty I'll try v3. I have been trying recent ones, I appreciate the warning still.
I'll be flashing this ROM tomorrow I believe. I'm doing a little research about the radios right now. According to install instructions for this rom the preferred radio is 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2. I see something EXTREMELY similar in the radio thread but it's listed as 12.54.60.25x_26.09.04.11_M2. Note the "x."
This "x" version is listed as a release for the Desire, whereas I will be installing this on the AT&T Inspire. Should I be worried about either the "x" or the Desire release?
To further clarify: I will be rooting an AT&T HTC Inspire 4G with attn1's latest ace_hack kit, and plan to then flash the Virtuous Unity 1.31 ROM. I would very much appreciate any help or guidance any one else could choose to offer.
That radio is the same. Don't worry if it is a Desire radio. A lot of them work very well for the Inspire. Radios are subjective though. What works for me in my area may not work well for you and where you live. You really have to test it out for yourself. When you install a new radio and Ril let it settle for at least a week to determine how the performance is. I have had good success with that radio and ril and also with the ATT radios and Rils.
Thanks. The help is much appreciated.
Sense stock apps (like gallery) and widgets (like Favs Contacts) show distorted thumbnails like an old black & white TV.
I installed the 3D Gallery, and it shows them correctly.
XDA wont let me show you external images, but i posted in the "public bug tracker"
Damn rules in xda...
I don't remember anyone else reporting this in the past. It could have been a bad flash. You may want to wipe everything and flash the rom again.

Ok, thanks.
Can i ask something more?
If i want to flash another radio and kernel on top of virtuous,
i need to make a full wipe/factory reset then flash "new radio - virtuous - new kernel"?
or i can simply flash via recovery radio and kernel?
I will lose any data?
Can it cause any problems?
I really aprecciate your help!

Radios are flashed in the bootloader and kernels are flashed in cwm. Neither require a wipe at all
To flash the radio put the pd98img.zip file on the sd card reboot into the bootloader from the power off menu and when it detects the zip hit the volume up to flash the radio.
Then reboot the phone from the bootloader to recovery and flash your kernel that is if you put it on the sd card

So, it wont be any problem if i just flash it on top of the rom with all my data and apps, etc etc? Excellent!
Im really grateful for your time and answers.
Can i only flash a kernel over it, or i need to modify the radio also?
And how i can revert to virtuous kernel? The same way?

I also had weird issues with v4 kernel and went back to v3.
On page 157, post 1562, has all sorts of signal bar/network icon mods. Post 1570 has battery mods including a Circle% with the green dotted line that changes colors from blue to red as it goes down, but I haven't made one for H+ yet. Hold on a minute and I'll make you what you want. Circle%, 5 bar, H+ for HSDPA and HSPA+. (Note: ALL of these mods are made with SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk from VU 1.31) One minute
Here you go. First one is a flashable .zip with the battery mod, signal meter mod, and network indicator mod. Second is just the SystemUI.apk with the signal strength and network indicator mods
Awesome thank you. I went through page 60 to the last looking for 1.31.0 mode but I must have missed the battery. I did get the signal bar one working, it just only shows bars when I have a WiFi connection but that isn't a big deal.
I'll install the battery mod.
My next question is... Is there any reason the phone would run like a champ but have low fps in a game like Angry Birds?
I'm new to the overclock /underclock , and and wanted to know what the min/max meant in the virtuous overclock utility meant. The mainly, and it says min of. 2 and a max of 1.2, does that mean the phone will run inbetween those numbers or run at max most of the time? A quick runthrough on how this works would be awesome for a noob like me
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App

On Virtuous Unity, since the stock kernel doesn't have the smartass governor, (and I much prefer the Virtuous OC app vs setCPU), I resolved the issue by leaving the governor at ondemand and setting my wake max to 1.4 - 1.5GHz. Games like Angry Birds can be CPU/Adreno-intensive. When I've had my fix, I just revert back to the 1152MHz recommended max wake setting. If you're running some other kernel, just take a quick minute to fine-tune your settings as far as max wake frequency and the governor controlling those frequencies. Experiment with your settings and see what works best for you.
I'm using v3(I think, whatever comes with 1.31.0). I'll give that a try, thank you.

[Q] Android Revolution HD 3.6.5 Lockscreen Issue

So I just flashed the Android Revolution HD 3.6.5 ROM for the HTC Sensation and everything's working great except for the lockscreen. For some reason, it won't show any shortcuts or the big clock I keep in the middle. I didn't flash the recommended radio but I doubt that has much to do with it. Any suggestions?
First let's start off by asking if you superwiped before flashing?
Yeah I ran the Super Wipe script and everything went perfectly. Everything's fine except for the lockscreen and now the battery life. The battery drains really quickly even when I'm not doing anything. Should I just wait for an update and see if that fixes things?

Hi,
Update is now available.
It should fix both of your problems.
Well I just upgraded to 3.6.7 and I still have to see if battery life improves but the lockscreen is still not working. I don't want to update to Sense 3.5 because I don't like the look of it and 3.0 is smooth enough.
Well now that I've gone a full day with it, the battery is significantly better but the lockscreen is still not working as it should. Could this be because of the kernel or something?
Did you restore with Titanium Backup after flashing the rom?
And if the answer is yes: what did you restore? user apps / system apps / system data?
Yes I restored all of those.
Well I just super wiped everything again and it seems like it fixed the problem. I can see everything on my lockscreen again. Thanks everyone!

gallery uses most battery?

I noticed that in the battery use gallery is at the top for some reason. I don't use much the gallery so I find it strange, is it a bug?
On the other hand I use quite a lot the music player, does Android consider the music player and gallery the same?
Thanks.
Anyone knows what's going on?
How long has it been this way? You can clear the battery stats in recovery to reset that graph. You can also try freezing the gallery, and see if the battery usage changes.
I think it has always been like that, not really a problem though, just curious.
Anyway I might try doing what you said, also because the icon on top for the battery is usually not exactly correct compared to the battery % in the settings.
Just to make it clear I'm using stock Froyo, never rooted or anything else, just upgraded it from Eclair to Froyo (Samsung i5800).
