I installed dexter's motoblur 0.4 update but i can't login to blur. the status bar goes all the way to the end but never finishes logging in...is this an issue with my data? because I've my data turned off....but I'm connected to the wifi really well.
Also, can't get into recovery mode after installing it. any one else having this problem?
yeah the same issue, maybe i had to update from stock 2.1 and not 2.2.1
I was running stock 2.1 but my xt720 was rooted and had apps2sd running. Everything went really smooth during the recovery of 2.2.1 v04 but at the end the phone keep rebooting itself. I ended up removing the SD card and that stop the rebooting. I can't finish the MotoBlur login process either and the default interface (widgets and all) don't come up. What should I do?
I finally gave up on the BLUR version. I installed the GalaxyXT and all is better now, the phone performs really good. When my phone was running Blur I wasn't getting 3G and it was very slow to open anything.
That's not the only issue with the Blur ROM. I do have to say that your issue is something that happens and sometimes not. But the Blur ROM does have issues, unfortanetly. It's probably due to the fact that the Blur ROM is ported from the Defy.

I am using a Non rooted Rogers canada samsung captivate.
I recently upgraded through KIES to Froyo.
The two issues I am having are:
1) Wifi, i use juice defendor, so when i enter my house wifi is enabled automatically, many times, there is an error, and i cant click wifi on until a reboot, then it works fine for a while until it will happen again.
2) The notification bar doesn't slide down at times, and the only way to fix this is by rebooting. These two things are very annoying as they happen on a daily basis, or every other day.
I have seen these issues happen to others, so I know im not the only one, but I cant find a solution anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated.
anything i can do? would a factory reset help and a full reinstall?

It might but to be honest I have never seen a stock rom that is not buggier then any custom rom i have run. What you could try is start from scratch and see if the prob happens on an out of the box set up. If it does then it is an issue with the rom, if not then install your apps one by one to see if one of them is covering it. My advice? Grab one of the custom roms build from the Rogers 2.2 update like Cog or Firefly.
Try uninstalling juice defender.
I had the same problem with notification panel not sliding down after installing juice defender. I uninstalled it and the problem went away.
Did you solve the problem with the notification dropdown? Was it Juice Defender? I am experiencing the same issue.
I have problem number 2 too. No juice defender or any power saving tool or what not running in the background. Happens only once in a while although so its not killing me
Same problem here. I can't pin it to a specific program. But I think it has something to do with a certain notification because it always does it when I download a program or install a new program.
I've experienced both but after OCLF (which requires root) the notification bar issue doesn't happen. I've recently moved on to a stock kernel injected with voodoo lagfix (courtesy of supercurio) after having tried speedmod which gave me horrible battery life.
My battery life is good enough that I just leave wifi on all the time to avoid issue #1. When the wifi issue happened, going to airplane mode and back would fix it too without a full reboot.
k the best thing to do in your situation as people new to xda is if you are unrooted and want to stay that way go into the rogers store and say your touchscreen is buggy which to me seems like the issue you are having. also if your on the stock rogers 2.2 as i was for a coupple months all i can tell you is that its super buggy (as you could probobly tell from that terror they called an install). if your confident and want to get your feet wet with a great custom rom i would go with firefly that should fix any issues you have its a fuly stable final release and best part its based on rogers software not at&t so it will work flawlessly with the network and most likley fix any problems you are having
Don't use 100% pure stock
Use tweaked - with EXT4 LagFix, OC/UV, Sideloading enabled, rooted, VoodooSound, with GPS fixes.
Older Cognition 3.4 was Rogers based - I can recommend that.
Every time I reboot my phone, launcher pro seems to freeze and needs to force close once before anuything will work properly. EVERY TIME. I just need to wait for it to ask me to FC, then everything is ok.
What is going on!? this shouldn't happen its annoying

Same issue here. It's becoming irritating. I'm debating going back to Myn's Warm 2.2 until there's an official 2.3 ROM for my Evo.

This happened to me as well (G2, pershoot OR stock kernel), throughout the RCs and with 7.0.0, but now with 7.0.2 all of a sudden it doesn't happen anymore.
I had a similar problem on stock 2.2, and I see it from time to time on Firefly. It happens if I try to interact with Launcher Pro TOO SOON. If I allow the phone to finish fully booting I rarely see a problem.

Upon installing ANY ROM, EVERYTHING works fine. I set everything up, and it all appears fine. I reboot. Might work fine, or might lag, and have missing buttons (e-mail Compose button graphic, or Missing graphic on WiFi toggle in the shade.)
When I do think everything is perfect, I reboot to recovery (via Quickboot, OR Clockwork) back it all up as-is. Then reboot, and it is whack again!
I am at a loss, and do not know what to do, maybe my initial ROM drop whacked out with the mounts!?
I wipe everything, including dalvik before, AND after the ROM is written, same issue every time... after a few reboots, WHACKO again.
Couldn't be Launcher Pro, could it?
Is there a Vanilla Build for this phone at all? (I HATE the TW dialer, as I come from the Moto World [Lean, mean, and basic]...)

as for your problem i would say did you check your mounts? this could be a problem also try to delete launcher pro then re download it!
there is currently no vanilla rom i wish though i heard someone was wroking on it over at rootzwiki but they havent updated the thread in forever so i dont know.
Is there any known issues with using Clockwork Rom Manager, or Quickboot (the one these builds come with, OR the one from the Market) to get into recovery?
Is there anyone running ROMs from here, and the "ShootMe" app for screen-scrapes?
Just trying to narrow this down to maybe a memory leak with my 1st real non-MotoDev.
For no reason, suddenly, the status bar FCs and then disappears. I cannot bring it back without a full restart. does any1 have an idea why? I'm running a relatively new gTab on CM7.0.3
Also, man, the boot up time is in minutes. Many games don't open or FC and everything is laggy. I really am sorta regretting getting this tablet. Any tips on speeding up would be greatly appreciated.
My GTab/CM7.03 setup does the same thing. At first everything was great but after several weeks it started doing just as you describe with the exception that if I don't reboot eventually the status bar comes back. I have yet to figure out what is causing it. I have been contemplating trying some honeycomb just to see if I can stay with one of those, if not, I may revert to a froyo version to see what the limitations are with that. I do know on my cell froyo seems faster with less slowdowns that the gingerbread though I have stayed with gingerbread there.
I have a Rooted Droid charge running EP4P but ive had this issue since EE4
for some reason when i have a set wallpaper (a picture instead of a live Wallpaper)
the background will stop scrolling it,
i have to restart the phone and when the phone comes back on, it lets it scroll untill i see the "Media Scanning Running... (System Storage)" then it freezes again
Ive tried multiple launchers including LauncherPro (personal favorite), Gingerbread launcher free, ICS Launcher, and a Honey comb launcher, but all of them fail.
the only one that still lets it scroll is the original twLauncher and i dont like it
is there a way for me to fix it
this started happening when i installed these i don't know if its relevant or not:

Sounds like you may to do a factory data reset and reflash the rom you're using. Did you upgrade to EP4P via the OTA update or using an ODIN/CWM ROM? If you did it via OTA from EE4 then perhaps before doing the full data wipe, try reflashing the EP4P ROM via ODIN first. Sounds like something got corrupted.

thats the weird thing ive reflashed many times do to other reasons, when i had it on EE4 it froze, i reflashed to receive the ota and that fixed it for a few days, then it started to freeze again, then when the ota hit, it worked again for like 1 month and then it froze again,
later i reflashed ep4p through odin, just because i felt that my phone was getting too boring and i wanted to start from scratch, and it worked again but then it froze after about 2 or 3 weeks, now running tweakstock rom and still same issue

Go Launcher natively supports scrolling wallpapers, though I don't know what is causing the initial problem... I'm tempted to say its a rom issue like mentioned above as I have no problems with this

darn i dont doubt you but whats weird is that its done it on 3 roms! and i have gotten very fond of launcher pro, although it seriously needs to be updated :\
