This thread is created just to inform you kind chefs that a working linux kernel for the HD2 has been built by:
Developers:
cr2, LeTama, Markinus, NetRipper, dcordes
We (the HD2 community) were wondering where the android builds are now that the hard part has been done.
I created this thread to inform you of this succes.
Original thread:

That would be great to have Android on HD2 !
That's AWESOME news!
Can't wait to have this running on my HD2.
This is a little premature to be asking devs to make android builds.... the kernel doesn't even have sound or touchscreen drivers implemented yet. The kernel is bootable, but nowhere near done.

everything starts small and buggy. you wont get a fully functional android build from one day to another
I don't know much about this but I heard that T-Mobile USA will be reportedly (rumors right now) be getting an HTC 4.3" Android snapdragon device with sense called the Sidekick Twist (though it will have a QWERTY) sometime this summer. Maybe somebody could try a transfer of that rom if and when out releases. Don't have an HD2 but that would be awesome.

Hope to see some Ando Cookies for HD2 in close future.
Thanks to all Developers.
Cheers,
Let the cookers tries to rebuild android with the good toolchain, hope everything will be fine in the compilation process !
I think we'll know soon what is missing or doesn't work with Android and HD2.
Thanks to all guys (dcordes, LeTama, NetRipper, ...) for making this possible !
Congrats to all those working so hard on this. Great progress and a working ROM must be on the cards before too long. I'm not going to lie though, I wish you all worked faster
THaNks To All THE DEVS....
Thanks guys for working hard on this HACK.... Cant wait to have the android 2.1 running on my hd2... "Keep Moving At The Speed Of Light"

NEWS: AS OF TODAY FEB 26TH WE HAVE A BOOTABLE KERNEL! WE ARE WORKING TO IMPROVE IT'S STABILITY. STILL NO FRAME BUFFER SO WE CAN NOT SEE OUTPUT PAST THE KERNEL BOOT.
*********************************************
NEWS:
Since I don't update this first post very often I thought I'd share some news for those following the project.
We have a git repository now! This will allow the project developers to share code and work together much more efficiently. Anyone interested in joining us send me a PM
The stable branch is the one we will be adding permanent commits to, the experimental branch adds official support for the lg incites registered mach type, meaning the kernel recognizes our device, it will be merged into the stable branch once it is bug free and cleaned up.
Stable Branch(still not booting)

Experimental Branch (still not booting)
http://gitorious.org/~randomblame/linux-on-qualcomm-s-msm/experimental-linux-msm-lg-incite
We also have an IRC channel, you can join us on freenode channel #lg-linux
http://www.lg-incite.com/index.php?topic=3198.0
I attach the haret.exe and the zimage
Someone can throw(shoot) a hand to me helps
i just bump it, i will work for this when i can i guess in weekends , who need GF anyway
odd that looks like something I wrote... very strange.
Android for LG GM750 would be cool!
great.. are you completing the project.. i was failed and tired
I´m hopefully awaiting an working stable port for the gm750,
because its hardware is great for its price, but the system is crap and since we also know that development for winmo 6.x will slowly die within the release of wp7, android would be a great(and only) chance to have an up to date, good system which will also get lots of support in the future.
So, please keep working on it guys!

I think this needs a bump.
Well, it's pretty big bulge ) xD
Dont let this topic die...i have GM750 and i need android on it...ill tried to modify other phone`s default.txt file a lot but no luck...it would be fine to get a working port on this handy.
I do not want to die in this thread because I also really like LG and GM750 is, Windows Mobile just does not like it. I do not understand the Android Linux kernel access this building ... so i can not help this. But I think if the team is dealing with XDANDROID 1 day is running smoothly I think you could do ... Someone please HELP! (sorry I'm not English [translate.google.com] )
still hoping... no new apps for wm6.5 now
I agree
Im from over at the lg-incite.com forum, and I've been following the progress of their Android port for a rather long time. The guy who's been doing most of the programming has other life issues he's dealing with right now. Car wreck, kid on the way, etc, and I can sympathize.
Our biggest roadblock is an lcd driver. Over here in xda, they had the same problem with, i believe, the htc diamond. Their solution was to make their own driver. We don't have that kind of knowledge (that i know of). If someone from XDANDROID could pop on over and give us a hand, whether through making us a driver, or pointing us in the right direction, this project can be resurrected, finished, and ready for the world to see!
i've been trying to help as much as I can, but a college kid that works full time and plays in a band doesn't have much spare time. But I try. I love my Incite and want to see this thing run all the same stuff the modern PDAs run.
LONG LIVE THE INCITE
Hix, adroid is a dream with my GM750
As you know, Google has published Froyo sources. And there is a froyo on SF already. I tried it on my POLA100. It installed and launched well. No wifi, bt, camera, external sound, gps, 3g... Nothing except phone—can receive and send calls. For my humble opinion it runs as fast as current speeded eclairs, even dialer runs almost immediately. Will it see future on polarises, or it's time to think about some native android device? =)
..................deleted
I dont know what you expect from our devs here.
As far as i know the source is only a few days old (23.june).
At this moment eclair is about to get fully functional camera, stable builds, battery life and a good competition between the roms.
So if you neeeed it that much it would be the best to buy a native android device that gets the latest versions first.
---------
So there will be a delay, it depends on how much changes must be done.
I hope that android will become more and more a real alternative for our device.
Since im using android on my polaris i think its like i bought a totally new device and im really happy about it.
Another thx to all devs, modders here ;D

Sorry for possible intonation and meaning misunderstanding. Actually I didn't complain or tried make somebody do something. I appreciate all the devs for their work, It is really great challenge for them to port and adapt builds and eclair gets almost perfect lately. My question was actually just a question about possible future. There could be some hardware restrictions, incompatible drivers, who knows what else, right? So it could be no future for Froyo on polaris at all, that was my question about actually. But dzo has already answered it with uploaded froyo build which installed and launched on my polaris, so I am glad that there is possible oportunity for Froyo and polaris. And of course I am not agitating to get native android phones, and not laughing on enthusiasts here, forgive me my english. =)
iD
ah sorry too, got you wrong^^
sometimes hard if everybody is translating ;D
In the vogue thread they started the froyo development by incubus.
First build is on with bug, but he tries to get a build with most things working this night ^^

Probably.
But not yet. Trust that Cyanogen and his army of coders will crack the secrets and port the ROM.
But not yet.
On a related note, hooray for the 6.1 Stable release!
That is all.
which is more stable and fast, CM6.1 or MTtest3 ??

Think they're about the same. The MTTest3 is good but I prefer CM6.1 for all the extra goodies that come it it. CMParts etc.
Okey, I will try CM6.1.
I don't think android 2.3 will run fast as 2.2:
2.2 is a port of official froyo from mytouch3G, so it's very optimized.
I hope in android 2.3 on G1, I would try to develop something to port 2.3 but I don't know how can I do.. I think by the official sdk but.. mmh
(I'm a programmer but I never developed roms for phones)
Cyanogen said on Twitter that he currently has no plan to port 2.3, as the OS will most likely be GPU-driven.
Honestly, his 6.1.0 release is pretty great.

yeah but now our device is really going to be out of date. :/
Well I think it's about time to upgrade to G2 or Nexus S. There's lot of great phones out there. G1 is rocking long enough I think, it stopped to be fast and responsive from Donut update or so...

congratz. wrong thread and wrong section.
flash cm6.1
flash gapps
flash latest pershoot kernel
next time go to the right section and provide logs etc
I think we must try to port android 2.3 to our g1!
BTW if 2.3 is too slow for our phones, I'll stay on 2.2, no problems!
I'm waiting for a perfect phone:
slide qwerty
800x480px amoled/superAmoled/superLCD
ram>512
rom>1gb
slot SDXC rolleyes: )
cpu>1ghz (and good performance.. the number isn't sufficient )
possible cpu with dual core
excellent gpu
5mpx camera with flash and 720p 60fps recording (also 1080p 30fps would be perfect ) with good optic and NO HTC PINK HALO
google experience or sense
I ask too much?
Do you think I'll keep G1 for the rest of my life?
It can probably be adapted from the AOSP source, but since it has some new gui thingy w/e that is, it will never be the same on our devices, whats the point in downgrading from something that works quite well atm, 2.2.1
Cyanogen's cm6 isn't one of those roms which have the myTouch base of T-mobile. It's pretty much coded from the Nexus Rom and ASOP.

Point of updating to 2.3
Well, for me there's one big reason why I'd like to upgrade to 2.3 - Native SIP.
What I don't understand is why Native SIP hasn't been built-in from 1.0! Now there's a flood of poor and mediocre SIP apps on the market, none of which are very good.
I sure hope 2.3 comes to the G1!

Having just switched from MT3G-test3 to Cyanogen 6.1, I would have to say they're pretty comparable. If you put my feet to the fire, I'd say MT3g-test3 is slightly faster, especially in regards to installing apps from the market. But the goodies available in Cyanogen are so good that...
Aargh, it's hard to decide. I have a nandroid+ext of both, so I can swap back and forth at will. I might spend a few days with each to see which one I enjoy using more, and report back. One thing making it harder... I have a white G1, which historically has had problems with Cyanogen. But the latest seems to be working a lot better than previous releases.

I know all you guys have been waiting for 2.3 on the vega well here it is its very raw and probably not good enough for every day use.The build is at the same stage as the gtab so it has all the same bugs and so on as the gtab plus a few more just for us lol :-D(as we don't have kernel source yet :-( ).
There will be little support if any for this build as i am currently working on a LOT of stuff. But when we get kernel source i can work some more on this
Please have the stock rom and nvflash ready in-case u have to recover from this :-D
Nither me or the cyanogenmod team are responsible for any damage caused by this rom weather that is bricking your device, eating babies, global warming or your house burning down !

im so gona flash this. if its only camera, rotation and video decoding not working it seams usable to me. I just have to wait to friday maybe monday when my POV Mobii arrives. I got CM7 on my DHD. I also have an Archos70IT but no roms for that and a Toshiba Folio wich really is quiet nice. But it dosent have that strong community and rom devs around it. Then i saw that You had jumped on AdventVega and was going to make a CM7 build for it+ it has several other roms and rom builders working for it. So i orderd one. I really miss having an active community around the devices i got. Well the Desire HD is good, but the plates i got, when i check there forums almost never any activity. I hope people will tturn to Xda for the Vega not just Modaco.
I just your kernels for the DHD. Always good qquality work, thats promising for the CM7 for Vega.
PS. Download link for CM6 dont work, i only get error 404. Could you please upload a working link
I really need rotation to work before I can stick on one of these CM roms
However good news, kernel sources should be out today or tomorrow and Paul at modaco may already have it.
Nice one, I thought you'd abandoned this.
What is the point of releasing cm7 when you get cm6 to work properly for day to day use. I say waste of time.

I concur, plus CM7 has better features for our tablets than CM6.1 i.e. how to move apps2sd
It still doesn't make sense as both of them still buggy and not good for daily use.
lol the issue is the fix for sensors on 2.2 would fix 2.3 soo really 2.3 is thing to work at ... that and getting a solid vendor base so when 3.0 hits aosp we will be able to make best use of it .....
the main issue is nither 2.2 or 2.3 aosp have any real support for tegra 2 chips (hw decoding and other features) .... 3.0 aosp will do as there main device will be tegra based im hoping it wont be too much trouble getting 3.0 on this device

Do you think we can manage to integrate Sense into it as well? I have no idea about how the Sense manages stuff..
Also, need to see kernel-side differences as well if there are any..
I can also help with something I guess - I am not so prune to download 7GB of Source code though
As far as I know, Sense is very deeply integrated into the OS, because else there would be a possibility for people to get it running on AOSP ROMs. So I think it will be really difficult to get Sense running on ICS (or impossible, dare I say).
Kernel-related: yeah, this is something I'm not sure about. I don't know if the kernel which gets built from the source will run, or else we'll need to try a GingerBread Kernel running with ICS.
That is my only concern actually, but as time passes by, we will learn more!

Ok, thanks to a couple of minutes of spare time i did a first port of the Nexus One build, so all credits is to texasice. I use his base because my lack of time and with this PC probably it takes days to build from sources.
Working and not are the same from my SDK port (always because of missing drivers). No ETA for a download link and no ETA for updates, reasons are in my previuos post.
Would be extremely happy to test any new builds
