Double click the "EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon" value on the right pane
Change the value to 1 (decimal) (recovery note: default value is 0)
Reboot your phone one last time and you got your "E". The indicator will still show "G" when you're in a GPRS only area.

Your operator support works?

I own the t-mobile SDA (US) and can't get the reg edit for the edge icon to work. I do the following:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
Double click the "EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon"
Change the value to 1 (decimal) (recovery note: default value is 0)
Reboot your phone one last time and you got your "E". The indicator will still show "G" when you're in a GPRS only area
I then press done and I get the following message: Error- Unable to perform this operation.
If any one has any answers and can help me out I thank you in advance

I was able to edit my reg but I had to download a specific program. From what I have picked up part of my sda's registry was locked. The only way to edit was to get the HTC certified editor. I found it and now I can edit. I did the following:
I installed "PHM Registry Editor" on my phone
then I installed "regeditSTG.zip" after that I could edit all I wanted
regeditSTG.zip can be found about 3/4 down on the following page

you may also have to use the following program which can be found on the same page
SDA_ApplicationUnlock.zip

first of all you have to unlock your Qtek 8310.
After this you will be able to enable [E].
I also have Qtek 8310 and it works in Poland Orange and [E] icon is displayed.

What was the title problem?

I think, the Qtek's registry was locked and ch0mik was unable to change the registry setting.
After the un-lock he probably changed registry and it works

Owner's Info on WM5

Is it a way to disable edit of Owner's Info with current data - maybe registy entry....

even if you disable it when you do a hard reset you will be able to edit it again

I need it, because from time to time I accidently hit owner info and info is changed. I would like to limit this posibility.
After hard reset still I need to fill out info.

You can make the item on the today screen non-selectable
In the registry
goto HKLM\software\microsoft\today\items\
then goto owner info and give 'selectability' a value of 0
Close down via power button and startup - owner info should not be selectable i.e. highlightable on the today screen.

What I am exactly looking is selectability=1 and when you enter everything would be non-changable. Like all fields label not text boxes. I do not know how to descibe it diffrently.

I dont think that is possible the info is in HKCU\controlpanel\owner and there are no parameters to make it non-changable.
You could have a static xml plugin but the result is essentially the same as option 1.

I did it in my hermes without success. I can still select it and change the info.
Is there anything that I've missed? Thanks.

You are right that tweak is only to make it non-selectable via d-pad not the stylus - the only way then is to have a plugin that allows text input and is totally non-selectable e.g. a xml plugin - there are a number around.

I've tried the Owner Info X plugin vijay cited.
It had a problem appearing consistently--the plugin's today slot would, at times, have nothing in it.
Dunno if the problem was fixed in a newer version of the plugin, though.

Menu-size in PocketOutlook

I have a Problem with the Menus in PocketOutlook in Landscape mode. Very annoying is the right Menu button. The options do not show up correctly – see screencap.

I think this problem might be solved by changing the font-size of the menu back to the standard fontsitze but although I disabled “large Startmenu” in the TouchFLO settings the menus in PocketOutlook stay large.
Does anybody know how to reduce the font-size for this menu?

I've personally changed it to 900 to reflect the font size of the rest of the system. I've used Total Commander registry plugin to change the value.
You may need to do a soft reset afterwards.

I already found that tweak and changed it to 1000 but I didn't have the guts to change it to something lower than that. ;-) 900 is actually the value I was looking for but unfortunately it didn't solve my issue shown on the screencap above. Has someone a similar problem? On my TP in landscape mode some menues show up as weird as that. Another example below:

This is a problem with WM; you have ClearType enabled in landscape mode, which causes the fonts to render incorrectly. If you're using Advanced Config Tool, just go to Menu > More Settings > ClearType, and uncheck "Enable ClearType on screen rotation".
You will still have ClearType in portrait mode, but it will be disabled (and menus/text will show up correctly) in landscape. Hope this helps.

I would never have guessed that enabling ClearType in landscape has caused these problems. But you never stop learning.

The original WM6.5 lock screen has been lost

I've installed "Dusk_6.5_Lockscreen_v3.0" but then removed it.
The original WM6.5 lock screen is lost.
When I pressed and held "END" button, and select lock screen.
The WM6.1 style of lock screen appear.
Anybody can help me to resume the WM6.5 lock screen?

I had the same problem with dusk theme and I had to do an hard reset...

I too had the same, I just put dusk lockscreen back on...

actually, I've removed dusk but installed s2u2. I've to change this value to 0. otherwise, the screen would be locked twice. Aanyway, s2u2 is so nice. maybe ill hardest it during the upcoming Rom update.

You can also go Settings tab > All settings > Lock > Display > and make sure its on Windows Default and not Windows Classic

There are two Control Panel Keys, one with a space and one without between Control and Panel. Make sure you are looking in the correct one.

You are in the correct place. For some reason the devicelockwhensuspend key is missing and you will need to create a new one.

i installed dusk's lockscreen and it resolved the missing slider lockscreen..
it's not the default one..pity...but it's like that before my next hard reset

The ONLY you have to do it is to ----->
Tab on START --then--> Tab on lock!!! And you have back the lock screen work with power buttom

I had this problem too and I went to Settings tab > All settings > Lock > Display and changed it to Windows Classic, restarted and then went back in and changed it back to Windows Default, restarted and I had my Lock Screen back again

I recommend TouchLockPro (http://www.zuinigerijder.com/). It is lightweight, the battclock is excellent, and you don't really need to use the locking mechanism - though that is also very good. (I used it on my HD, and it was the first thing I installed on the Leo.)

This is a interesting topic without any answer.

But you can disable all locking futures in it and just live clock/battery mods.

You can give a try to kBattery. And then you can make it look like this :
You can enter setup and change the colors and some settings by tap&holding your finger on the battery.

as alternative way, you can use wm 6.5.3 based rom.
battery and clock displaying all the time in taskbar.

I don't like kBattery because it slows down the HD2. Just take a look at the clouds in Sense and you'll see how they stutter when kBattery is activated.
